Abstract:We introduce the notions of strong local Torelli and T-class for polarized manifolds, and prove that strong local Torelli implies global Torelli theorem on the Torelli spaces for polarized manifolds in the T-class. We discuss many new examples of projective manifolds for which such global Torelli theorem holds. As applications we prove that, in these cases, a canonical completion of the Torelli space is a bounded pseudoconvex domain in complex Euclidean space, and show that generic Torelli implies global Torelli on moduli space with certain level structure.

Abstract: We describe the proof that the period map from the Torelli space of Calabi-Yau manifolds to the classifying space of polarized Hodge structures is an embedding. The proof is based on the constructions of holomorphic affine structure on the Teichm\"uller space and Hodge metric completion of the Torelli space. A canonical global holomorphic section of the holomorphic $(n, 0)$ class on the Teichm\"uller space is constructed.

Abstract:We prove that the higher ρ invariant of an invertible elliptic differential operator D vanishes, if the inverse of D is local, in the sense that D|D| can be approximated by a bounded operator with small propagation. Abstract:A recognized trend of research investigates generalizations of the Hadamard's inversion theorem to functions that may fail to be differentiable. In this vein, the present paper explores some consequences of a recent result about the existence of global Lipschitz continuous inverse by translating its assumptions of metric nature in terms of nonsmooth analysis constructions. This exploration focuses on continuous, but possibly not locally Lipschitz mappings, acting in finite-dimensional Euclidean spaces. As a result, sufficient conditions for global invertibility are formulated by means of strict estimators, ∗ -difference of convex compacta and regular/basic coderivatives. These conditions qualify the global inverse as a Lipschitz continuous mapping and provide quantitative estimates of its Lipschitz constant in terms of the above constructions.

For minimal Lagrangian diffeomorphisms between hyperbolic disks, the result is known, but this is the first proof that does not use anti-de Sitter geometry. We show that the result fails without the $L^{1}$ assumption in variable curvature. The key input for our proof is the uniqueness of solutions for a certain Plateau problem in a product of trees.

Abstract:No Hopf–Rinow Theorem is possible in Lorentzian Geometry. Nonetheless, we prove that a spacetime is globally hyperbolic if and only if it is metrically complete with respect to the null distance of a time function. Our approach is based on the observation that null distances behave particularly well for weak temporal functions in terms of regularity and causality. Specifically, we also show that the null distances of Cauchy temporal functions and regular cosmological time functions encode causality globally.

Abstract:A generalized Taylor series of a complex function was derived and some related theorems about its convergence region were given. The generalized Taylor theorem can be applied to greatly enlarge convergence regions of approximation series given by other traditional techniques. The rigorous proof of the generalized Taylor theorem also provides us with a rational base of the validity of a new kind of powerful analytic technique for nonlinear problems, namely the homotopy analysis method.

Abstract:The purpose of this note is to present a short elementary proof of a theorem due to Faltings and Laumon, saying that the global nilpotent cone is a Lagrangian substack in the cotangent bundle of the moduli space of G-bundles on a complex compact curve. This result plays a crucial role in the Geometric Langlands program, due to Beilinson-Drinfeld, since it insures that the D-modules on the moduli space of G-bundles whose characteristic variety is contained in the global nilpotent cone are automatically holonomic, hence, e.g. have finite length.

Simple homotopy invariance of the loop coproduct

Abstract:We prove a transformation formula for the Goresky-Hingston loop coproduct in string topology under homotopy equivalences of manifolds. The formula involves the trace of the Whitehead torsion of the homotopy equivalence. In particular, it implies that the loop coproduct is invariant under simple homotopy equivalences. In a sense, our results determine the Dennis trace of the simple homotopy type of a closed manifold from its framed configuration spaces of $\leq 2$ points. We also explain how the loop coproduct arises as a secondary operation in a 2-dimensional TQFT which elucidates a topological origin of the transformation formula.
