Abstract:We study the long-time behavior of the solution to the connection Ricci flow on closed three-manifolds. The connection Ricci flow is a generalization of the Ricci flow to connection with torsion. We compare the evolving metrics under the connection Ricci flow and Ricci flow for some special cases. We obtain the blow-up rate of the Ricci tensor under the connection Ricci flow. Based on the result, we give the classification of the maximal solutions to the flow.

Abstract:A Lorentzian Lie group is a Lie group endowed with a left invariant Lorentzian metric. We study left-invariant Codazzi tensors on Lorentzian Lie groups. We obtain new results on left-invariant Lorentzian metrics with harmonic curvature and non-parallel Ricci operator. In contrast to the Riemannian case, the Ricci operator of a let-invariant Lorentzian metric can be of four types: diagonal, of type $\{n-2,z\bar{z}\}$, of type $\{n,a2\}$ and of type $\{n,a3\}$. We first describe Lorentzian Lie algebras with a non-diagonal Codazzi operator and with these descriptions in mind, we study three classes of Lorentzian Lie groups with harmonic curvature. Namely, we give a complete description of the Lie algebra of Lorentzian Lie groups having harmonic curvature and where the Ricci operator is non-diagonal and its diagonal part consists of one real eigenvalue $\alpha$.

Abstract:Let $ (M, g) $ be an $ n $-dimensional (pseudo-)Riemannian manifold and $ TM $ be its tangent bundle $ TM $ equipped with the complete lift metric $ ^{C}g $. First, we define a Ricci quarter-symmetric metric connection $ \overline{\nabla } $ on the tangent bundle $ TM $ equipped with the complete lift metric $ ^{C}g $. Second, we compute all forms of the curvature tensors of $ \overline{\nabla } $ and study their properties. We also define the mean connection of $ \overline{\nabla } $. Ricci and gradient Ricci solitons are important topics studied extensively lately. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the tangent bundle $ TM $ to become a Ricci soliton and a gradient Ricci soliton concerning $ \overline{\nabla } $ are presented. Finally, we search conditions for the tangent bundle $ TM $ to be locally conformally flat with respect to $ \overline{\nabla } $.

Left-invariant Hermitian connections on Lie groups with almost Hermitian structures

Abstract:Left-invariant Hermitian and Gauduchon connections are studied on an arbitrary Lie group $G$ equipped with an arbitrary left-invariant almost Hermitian structure $(\langle\cdot,\cdot\rangle,J)$. The space of left-invariant Hermitian connections is shown to be in one-to-one correspondence with the space $\wedge^{(1,1)}\mathfrak{g}^\ast\otimes \mathfrak{g}$ of left-invariant 2-forms of type (1,1) (with respect to $J$) with values in $\mathfrak{g}:=\mbox{Lie}(G)$. Explicit formulas are obtained for the torsion components of every Hermitian and Gauduchon connection with respect to a convenient choice of left-invariant frame on $G$. The curvature of Gauduchon connections is studied for the special case $G=H\times A$, where $H$ is an arbitrary $n$-dimensional Lie group, $A$ is an arbitrary $n$-dimensional abelian Lie group, and the almost complex structure is totally real with respect to $\mathfrak{h}:=\mbox{Lie}(H)$. When $H$ is compact, it is shown that $H\times A$ admits a left-invariant (strictly) almost Hermitian structure $(\langle\cdot,\cdot\rangle,J)$ such that the Gauduchon connection corresponding to the Strominger (or Bismut) connection in the integrable case is precisely the trivial left-invariant connection and, in addition, has totally skew-symmetric torsion. The almost Hermitian structure $(\langle\cdot,\cdot\rangle,J)$ on $H\times A$ is shown to satisfy the \textit{strong Kähler with torsion} condition. Furthermore, the affine line of Gauduchon connections on $H\times A$ with the aforementioned almost Hermitian structure is also shown to contain a (nontrivial) flat connection.

Abstract:We call the Lie algebra of a Lie group with a left invariant pseudo-Riemannian flat metric pseudo-Riemannian flat Lie algebra. We give a new proof of a classical result of Milnor on Riemannian flat Lie algebras. We reduce the study of Lorentzian flat Lie algebras to those with trivial center or those with degenerate center. We show that the double extension process can be used to construct all Lorentzian flat Lie algebras with degenerate center generalizing a result of Aubert-Medina on Lorentzian flat nilpotent Lie algebras. Finally, we give the list of Lorentzian flat Lie algebras with degenerate center up to dimension 6.

Abstract:On Hermitian manifolds, the second Ricci curvature tensors of various metric connections are closely related to the geometry of Hermitian manifolds. By refining the Bochner formulas for any Hermitian complex vector bundle (and Riemannian real vector bundle) with an arbitrary metric connection over a compact Hermitian manifold, we can derive various vanishing theorems for Hermitian manifolds and complex vector bundles by the second Ricci curvature tensors. We will also introduce a natural geometric flow on Hermitian manifolds by using the second Ricci curvature tensor.
On pseudo-Riemannian Ricci-parallel Lie groups which are not Einstein

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly study left invariant pseudo-Riemannian Ricci-parallel metrics on connected Lie groups which are not Einstein. Following a result of Boubel and Bérard Bergery, there are two typical types of such metrics, which are characterized by the minimal polynomial of the Ricci operator. Namely, its form is either $(X-\alpha)(X-\bar{\alpha})$ (type I), where $\alpha\in \mathbb{C}\setminus \mathbb{R}$, or $X^{2}$ (type II). Firstly, we obtain a complete description of Ricci-parallel metrics of type I. In particular, such a Ricci-parallel metric is uniquely determined by an Einstein metric and an invariant symmetric parallel complex structure up to isometry and scaling. Then we study Ricci-parallel metric Lie algebras of type II by using double extension process. Surprisingly, we find that every double extension of a metric Abelian Lie algebra is Ricci-parallel and the converse holds for Lorentz Ricci-parallel metric nilpotent Lie algebras of type II. Moreover, we construct infinitely many new explicit examples of Ricci-parallel metric Lie algebras which are not Einstein.

Abstract:A pseudo-Riemannian Lie group is a connected and simply connected Lie group with a left-invariant pseudo-Riemannian metric of signature ( p , q ). This paper is to study pseudo-Riemannian Lie group with conformal vector fields induced by derivations. Firstly, we show that if is a Cartan subalgebra for a semisimple Levi factor of , where denotes the Lie algebra of G , then . It implies that is solvable for both Riemannian (i.e., ) and Lorentzian (i.e., ) cases, and furthermore we prove that is the only possible Levi factor for the trans-Lorentzian (i.e., ) case. Secondly, based on the classification of the Riemannian and Lorentzian cases in (Corrigendum J. Algebra 603 , 38–40 2022), we prove that the Riemannian Lie groups are of constant zero sectional curvature, hence conformally flat; for the Lorentzian case, we obtain a simple criterion for such Lorentzian Lie groups to be conformally flat, and moreover, we show that they are steady algebraic Ricci soliton with vanishing scalar curvature. Finally, we remark that the first known examples of homogeneous essential Lorentzian manifolds that are non-conformally flat (Translation in Siberian Math. J. 33 , 1087–1093 1992), are isometric to Lorentzian Lie groups with conformal vector fields induced by derivations.

Abstract:Riemannian manifolds with a Levi-Civita connection and constant Ricci curvature, or Einstein manifolds, were studied in the works of many mathematicians. This question has been most studied in the homogeneous Riemannian case. In this direction, the most famous ones are the results of works by D.V. Alekseevsky, M. Wang, V. Ziller, G. Jensen, H.Laure, Y.G. Nikonorov, E.D. Rodionov and other mathematicians. At the same time, the question of studying Einstein manifolds has been little studied for the case of an arbitrary metric connection. This is primarily due to the fact that the Ricci tensor of metric connection is not, generally speaking, symmetric. In this paper, we consider semisymmetric connections on 3-dimensional Lie groups with a left-invariant Riemannian metric. For the symmetric part of the Ricci tensor, the Einstein equation is studied. As a result of the research carried out, a classification of 3-dimensional metric Lie groups and the corresponding semisymmetric connections in the case of the Einstein symmetric equation has been obtained. Earlier in the works of P.N. Klepikov, E.D. Rodionov and O.P. Khromova, the classical Einstein equation was studied, and it was proved that if the classical. The Einstein equation holds for a 3-dimensional Lie group with left-invariant (pseudo) Riemannian metric and semi-symmetric connection. Then, either the connection is a Levi-Civita connection, or the curvature tensor of the connection is equal to zero.

Abstract:A pseudo-Riemannian Lie group is a connected Lie group endowed with a left-invariant pseudo-Riemannian metric of signature ( p , q ) . In this paper, we study pseudo-Riemannian Lie groups ( G , 〈 ⋅ , ⋅ 〉 ) with non-Killing left-invariant conformal vector fields. Firstly, we prove that if h is a Cartan subalgebra for a semisimple Levi factor of the Lie algebra g , then dim ⁡ h ≤ max ⁡ { 0 , min ⁡ { p , q } − 2 } . Secondly, we classify trans-Lorentzian Lie groups (i.e., min ⁡ { p , q } = 2 ) with non-Killing left-invariant conformal vector fields, and prove that [ g , g ] is at most three-step nilpotent. Thirdly, based on the classification of the trans-Lorentzian Lie groups, we show that the corresponding Ricci operators are nilpotent, and consequently the scalar curvatures vanish. As a byproduct, we prove that four-dimensional trans-Lorentzian Lie groups with non-Killing left-invariant conformal vector fields are necessarily conformally flat, and construct a family of five-dimensional ones which are not conformally flat.

Holonomy and the Ricci curvature of complex Hermitian manifolds

Abstract:We prove two results on geometric consequences of the representation of restricted holonomy group of a Hermitian connection. The first result concerns when such a Hermitian manifold is Kähler in terms of the torsion and the irreducibility of the holonomy action. As a consequence we obtain a criterion of when a Hermitian manifold (and connection) is a generalized Calabi-Yau (in the sense that the Chern Ricci vanishes or equivalently that the restricted holonomy is inside $\mathsf{SU}(m)$). The second result concerns when a compact Kähler manifold with a generic restricted holonomy group is projective.

Abstract:In this paper we compute the Ricci flow formulas for invariant metrics on prinicpal $G$-bundles compatible with the connection. Our primary focus is on torus bundles which we use to study a notion of Bakry-Émery Ricci flow as well as Ricci flow on circle bundles over Kähler-Einstein manifolds. The latter application gives us solutions to Ricci flows on Heisenberg groups and implicit solutions to Ricci flows on Berger 3-spheres and several other 3-dimensional manifolds.
