Abstract:We show that an $\infty$-category $\mathcal{M}$ with a closed left action of a monoidal $\infty$-category $\mathcal{V}$ is completely determined by the $\mathcal{V}$-valued graph of morphism objects equipped with the structure of a $\mathcal{V}$-enrichment in the sense of Gepner-Haugseng. We prove a similar result when $\mathcal{M}$ is a $\mathcal{V}$-enriched $\infty$-category in the sense of Lurie, an operadic generalization of the notion of $\infty$-category with closed left action. Precisely, we prove that sending a $\mathcal{V}$-enriched $\infty$-category in the sense of Lurie to the $\mathcal{V}$-valued graph of morphism objects refines to an equivalence $\chi$ between the $\infty$-category of $\mathcal{V}$-enriched $\infty$-categories in the sense of Lurie and of Gepner-Haugseng. Moreover if $\mathcal{V}$ is a presentably $\mathbb{E}_{\mathrm{k+1}}$-monoidal $\infty$-category for $1 \leq k \leq \infty$, we prove that $\chi$ restricts to a lax $\mathbb{E}_{\mathrm{k}}$-monoidal functor between the $\infty$-category of left $\mathcal{V}$-modules in $\mathrm{Pr}^L$, the symmetric monoidal $\infty$-category of presentable $\infty$-categories, endowed with the relative tensor product, and the tensor product of $\mathcal{V}$-enriched $\infty$-categories of Gepner-Haugseng. As an application of our theory we construct a lax symmetric monoidal embedding of the $\infty$-category of small stable $\infty$-categories into the $\infty$-category of small spectral $\infty$-categories. As a second application we produce a Yoneda-embedding for Lurie's notion of enriched $\infty$-categories.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal{O} \to \mathrm{BM}$ be a $ \mathrm{BM}$-operad that exhibits an $\infty$-category $\mathcal{D}$ as weakly bitensored over non-symmetric $\infty$-operads $\mathcal{V}, \mathcal{W}$ and $\mathcal{C}$ a $\mathcal{V}$-enriched $\infty$-precategory. We construct an equivalence $$\mathrm{Fun}_{\mathrm{Hin}}^{\mathcal{V}}(\mathcal{C},\mathcal{D}) \simeq \mathrm{Fun}^{\mathcal{V}}(\mathcal{C},\mathcal{D}) $$ of $\infty$-categories weakly right tensored over $\mathcal{W}$ between two different models of $\infty$-categories of $\mathcal{V}$-enriched functors, one introduced by Hinich and one constructed by us.

Abstract:We show that the notion of $(\infty,n)$-limit defined using the enriched approach and the one defined using the internal approach coincide. We also give explicit constructions of various double $(\infty,n-1)$-categories implementing various join constructions, slice constructions and cone constructions, and study their properties. We further prove that key examples of $(\infty,n)$-categories are (co)complete.

Abstract:Let $\kk$ be a commutative ring, $\AAA$ and $\BB$ -- two $\kk$-linear categories with an action of a group $G$. We introduce the notion of a standard $G$-equivalence from $\Kb\BB$ to $\Kb\AAA$. We construct a map from the set of standard $G$-equivalences to the set of standard equivalences from $\Kb\BB$ to $\Kb\AAA$ and a map from the set of standard $G$-equivalences from $\Kb\BB$ to $\Kb\AAA$ to the set of standard equivalences from $\Kb(\BB/G)$ to $\Kb(\AAA/G)$. We investigate the properties of these maps and apply our results to the case where $\AAA=\BB=R$ is a Frobenius $\kk$-algebra and $G$ is the cyclic group generated by its Nakayama automorphism $\nu$. We apply this technique to obtain the generating set of the derived Picard group of a Frobenius Nakayama algebra over an algebraically closed field.

Abstract:We show that diagrammatic sets, a topologically sound alternative to polygraphs and strict $\omega$-categories, admit an internal notion of equivalence in the sense of coinductive weak invertibility. We prove that equivalences have the expected properties: they include all degenerate cells, are closed under 2-out-of-3, and satisfy an appropriate version of the "division lemma", which ensures that enwrapping a diagram with equivalences at all sides is an invertible operation up to higher equivalence. On the way to this result, we develop methods, such as an algebraic calculus of natural equivalences, for handling the weak units and unitors which set this framework apart from strict $\omega$-categories.

Abstract:We study the meson sector of 2+1 dimensional light-front QCD using a Bloch effective Hamiltonian in the first non-trivial order. The resulting two dimensional integral equation is converted into a matrix equation and solved numerically. We investigate the efficiency of Gaussian quadrature in achieving the cancellation of linear and logarithmic light-front infrared divergences. The vanishing energy denominator problem which leads to severe infrared divergences in 2+1 dimensions is investigated in detail. Our study indicates that in the context of Fock space based effective Hamiltonian methods to tackle gauge theories in 2+1 dimensions, approaches like similarity renormalization method may be mandatory due to uncanceled infrared divergences caused by the vanishing energy denominator problem. We define and study numerically a reduced model which is relativistic, free from infrared divergences, and exhibits logarithmic confinement. The manifestation and violation of rotational symmetry as a function of the coupling are studied quantitatively.

Abstract:We define and study the $(\infty,2)$-category $\mathbf{Cat}_{\infty}(\mathcal{C})$ of $(\infty,1)$-categories internal to a general $(\infty,1)$-category $\mathcal{C}$ via an associated externalization construction. In the first part, we show various formal closure properties of $\mathbf{Cat}_{\infty}(\mathcal{C})$ regarding limits, tensors, cotensors and internal mapping objects under the assumption of various suitable closure properties of $\mathcal{C}$. In particular, we show that $\mathbf{Cat}_{\infty}(\mathcal{C})$ defines a cartesian closed full sub-$\infty$-cosmos of the $\infty$-cosmos $\mathbf{Fun}(\mathcal{C}^{op},\mathbf{Cat}_{\infty})$ of $\mathcal{C}$-indexed $(\infty,1)$-categories under suitable assumptions on $\mathcal{C}$. We furthermore characterize the objects of $\mathbf{Cat}_{\infty}(\mathcal{C})$ by means of a Yoneda lemma that expresses indexed diagrams of internal shape over $\mathcal{C}$ in terms of an $(\infty,1)$-categorical totalization. In the second part, we relate the general theory developed to this point to results in the model categorical literature. We show that every model category $\mathbb{M}$ gives rise to a ''hands-on'' $\infty$-cosmos $\mathbf{Cat}_{\infty}(\mathbb{M})$ (of not-necessarily cofibrant objects) directly by restriction of the Reedy model structure on $\mathbb{M}^{\Delta^{op}}$. We then define an according right derived model categorical externalization functor, and use it to show that the $(\infty,1)$-categorical and the model categorical constructions correspond to one another whenever $\mathcal{C}$ is presentable and $\mathbb{M}$ is a suitable presentation thereof.

Abstract:We study $\omega$-weak equivalences between weak $\omega$-categories in the sense of Batanin-Leinster. Our $\omega$-weak equivalences are strict $\omega$-functors satisfying essential surjectivity at every dimension, and when restricted to those between strict $\omega$-categories, they coincide with the weak equivalences in the model category of strict $\omega$-categories defined by Lafont, Métayer, and Worytkiewicz. We show that the class of $\omega$-weak equivalences has the 2-out-of-3 property. We also consider a generalisation of $\omega$-weak equivalences, defined as weak $\omega$-functors (in the sense of Garner) satisfying essential surjectivity, and show that this class also has the 2-out-of-3 property.

Abstract:This paper is the first part of a series that investigates the existence of $n$-exact structures on idempotent complete additive categories for positive integers $n$. It is shown that every idempotent complete additive category has a unique maximal $n$-exact structure. We achieve this by constructing a bijection between $n$-exact structures on a category and certain subcategories of its functor category following ideas of Enomoto.

A functorial approach to $n$-abelian categories

Abstract:We develop a functorial approach to the study of $n$-abelian categories by reformulating their axioms in terms of their categories of finitely presented functors. Such an approach allows the use of classical homological algebra and representation theory techniques to understand higher homological algebra. As an application, we present two possible generalizations of the axioms "every monomorphism is a kernel" and "every epimorphism is a cokernel" of an abelian category to $n$-abelian categories. We also specialize our results to modules over rings, thereby describing when the category of finitely generated projective modules over a ring is $n$-abelian. Moreover, we establish a correspondence for $n$-abelian categories with additive generators, which extends the higher Auslander correspondence.

Abstract:Functors involved in Fontaine equivalences decompose as extension of scalars and taking of invariants between full subcategories of modules over a topological ring equipped with semi-linear continuous action of a topological monoid. We give a general framework for these categories and the functors between them. We define the categories of étale projective $\mathcal{S}$-modules over $R$ to englobe categories that will correspond by Fontaine-type equivalences to finite free representations of a group. We study their preservation by base change, taking of invariants by a normal submonoid of $\mathcal{S}$ and coinduction to a bigger monoid. We define and study categories corresponding to finite type continuous representations over $\mathbb{Z}_p$ through the notions of finite projective $(r,\mu)$-dévissage and of topological étale $\mathcal{S}$-modules over $R$.
