Abstract:We prove the $P=W$ conjecture for $\mathrm{GL}_n$ for all ranks $n$ and curves of arbitrary genus $g\geq 2$. The proof combines a strong perversity result on tautological classes with the curious Hard Lefschetz theorem of Mellit. For the perversity statement, we apply the vanishing cycles constructions in our earlier work to global Springer theory in the sense of Yun, and prove a parabolic support theorem.

Abstract:We prove that the eigencurve associated to a definite quaternion algebra over $\mathbb Q$ satisfies the following properties, as conjectured by Coleman-Mazur and Buzzard-Kilford: (a) over the boundary annuli of the weight space, the eigencurve is a disjoint union of (countably) infinitely many connected components each finite and flat over the weight annuli, (b) the $U_p$-slopes of points on each fixed connected component are proportional to the $p$-adic valuations of the parameter on the weight space, and (c) the sequence of the slope ratios form a union of finitely many arithmetic progressions with the same common difference. In particular, as a point moving on an irreducible connected component of the eigencurve towards the boundary, the slope converges to zero.

Abstract:We prove a convergence theorem on the moduli space of constant $\sigma_{2}$ metrics for conic 4-spheres. We show that when a numerical condition is convergent to the boundary case, the geometry of conic 4-spheres converges to the boundary case while preserving capacity.

Abstract:We prove a number of results relating various measures (volume, Legendrian index, stability index, and spectral curve genus) of the geometric complexity of special Lagrangian $T^2$-cones. We explain how these results fit into a program to understand the "most common" three-dimensional isolated singularities of special Lagrangian submanifolds in almost Calabi-Yau manifolds.

Abstract:Under a stronger genericity condition, we prove the local analogue of ghost conjecture of Bergdall and Pollack. As applications, we deduce in this case (a) a folklore conjecture of Breuil--Buzzard--Emerton on the crystalline slopes of Kisin's crystabelian deformation spaces, (b) Gouvea's $\lfloor\frac{k-1}{p+1}\rfloor$-conjecture on slopes of modular forms, and (c) the finiteness of irreducible components of the eigencurve. In addition, applying combinatorial arguments by Bergdall and Pollack, and by Ren, we deduce as corollaries in the reducible and strongly generic case, (d) Gouvea--Mazur conjecture, (e) a variant of Gouvea's conjecture on slope distributions, and (f) a refined version of Coleman's spectral halo conjecture.

Abstract:In this article we study a coarse version of the K-theoretic Farrell-Jones conjecture we call coarse or bounded isomorphism conjecture. With techniques that have already been used to prove the Farrell-Jones conjecture for hyperbolic groups we are able to verify the bounded isomorphism conjecture for spaces of graphs with large girth and bounded geometry.

Abstract:We consider noncompact open $SL(2, \mathbb{C})$ spin chain and construct eigenfunctions of $B$-element of monodromy matrix for the simplest case of the chain with one site. The reflection operator appearing in this construction can be used to express eigenfunction for $n$ sites in terms of the eigenfunction for $n-1$ sites, this general result is briefly announced. We prove orthogonality and completeness of constructed eigenfunctions in the case of one site, express them in terms of the hypergeometric function of the complex field and derive the equation for the reflection operator with the general $SL(2,\mathbb{C})$-invariant $\mathbb{R}$-operator.

Abstract:In a $1+2$D Carrollian conformal field theory, the Ward identities of the two local fields $S^+_0$ and $S^+_1$, entirely built out of the Carrollian conformal stress-tensor, contain respectively up to the leading and the subleading positive helicity soft graviton theorems in the $1+3$D asymptotically flat space-time. This work investigates how the subsubleading soft graviton theorem can be encoded into the Ward identity of a Carrollian conformal field $S^+_2$. The operator product expansion (OPE) $S^+_2S^+_2$ is constructed using general Carrollian conformal symmetry principles and the OPE commutativity property, under the assumption that any time-independent, non-Identity field that is mutually local with $S^+_0,S^+_1,S^+_2$ has positive Carrollian scaling dimension. It is found that, for this OPE to be consistent, another local field $S^+_3$ must automatically exist in the theory. The presence of an infinite tower of local fields $S^+_{k\geq3}$ is then revealed iteratively as a consistency condition for the $S^+_2S^+_{k-1}$ OPE. The general $S^+_kS^+_l$ OPE is similarly obtained and the symmetry algebra manifest in this OPE is found to be the Kac-Moody algebra of the wedge sub-algebra of $w_{1+\infty}$. The Carrollian time-coordinate plays the central role in this purely holographic construction. The 2D Celestial conformally soft graviton primary $H^k(z,\bar{z})$ is realized to be contained in the Carrollian conformal primary $S_{1-k}^+(t,z,\bar{z})$. Finally, the existence of the infinite tower of fields $S^+_{k}$ is shown to be directly related to an infinity of positive helicity soft graviton theorems.

Abstract:In this article, we prove a version of Martin and Skora's conjecture that convergence groups on the $2$-sphere are covered by Kleinian groups. Given a relatively hyperbolic group pair $(G,\mathcal{P})$ with planar boundary and no Sierpinski carpet or cut points in its boundary, and with $G$ one ended and virtually having no $2$-torsion, we show that $G$ is virtually Kleinian. We also give applications to various versions of the Cannon conjecture and to convergence groups acting on $S^2$.

Abstract:We introduce a new approach to the geometric Bombieri--Lang conjecture for hyperbolic varieties in characteristic 0. The main idea is to construct an entire curve on a special fiber of a variety over a complex function field from an infinite sequence of rational points of the variety. The construction relies on the classical Brody lemma in complex geometry and is conditional on a non-degeneracy conjecture of partial heights. In particular, we prove the geometric Bombieri-Lang conjecture for hyperbolic projective varieties which have finite morphisms to abelian varieties over function fields of characteristic 0.

Abstract:Leveraging on the results of [4], we carry out an investigation of the algebraic three-fold Σ C , h , the common level set of the Hamiltonian and the Casimir, for the two-body problem for equal masses on S 2 subject to a gravitational potential of cotangent type. We determine the topology of its compactification Σ ‾ C , h and how it bifurcates with respect to the admissible values of ( C , h ) , (C being the fixed value of the Casimir and h the fixed value of the Hamiltonian). This bifurcation diagram is actually equal to the bifurcation diagram that describes relative equilibria. We also prove that for h sufficiently negative Σ C , h is equipped with a global contact form obtained from the environment symplectic form via a suitable Liouville vector field.

Abstract:A well-known conjecture of Caratheodory states that the number of umbilic points on a closed convex surface in ${\mathbb E}^3$ must be greater than one. In this paper we prove this for $C^{3+\alpha}$-smooth surfaces. The Conjecture is first reformulated in terms of complex points on a Lagrangian surface in $TS^2$, viewed as the space of oriented geodesics in ${\mathbb E}^3$. Here complex and Lagrangian refer to the canonical neutral Kaehler structure on $TS^2$. We then prove that the existence of a closed convex surface with only one umbilic point implies the existence of a totally real Lagrangian hemisphere in $TS^2$, to which it is not possible to attach the edge of a holomorphic disc. The main step in the proof is to establish the existence of a holomorphic disc with edge contained on any given totally real Lagrangian hemisphere. To construct the holomorphic disc we utilize mean curvature flow with respect to the neutral metric. Long-time existence of this flow is proven by a priori estimates and we show that the flowing disc is asymptotically holomorphic. Existence of a holomorphic disc is then deduced from Schauder estimates.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that a $\mathrm{GL}(2n)$-eigenvariety is étale over the (pure) weight space at non-critical Shalika points, and construct multi-variable $p$-adic $L$-functions varying over the resulting Shalika components. Our constructions hold in tame level 1 and Iwahori level at $p$, and give $p$-adic variation of $L$-values (of regular algebraic cuspidal automorphic representations of $\mathrm{GL}(2n)$ admitting Shalika models) over the whole pure weight space. In the case of $\mathrm{GL}(4)$, these results have been used by Loeffler and Zerbes to prove cases of the Bloch--Kato conjecture for $\mathrm{GSp}(4)$. Our main innovations are: (a) the introduction and systematic study of `Shalika refinements' of local representations of $\mathrm{GL}(2n)$, evaluating their attached local twisted zeta integrals; and (b) the $p$-adic interpolation of representation-theoretic branching laws for $\mathrm{GL}(n) \times \mathrm{GL}(n)$ inside $\mathrm{GL}(2n)$. Using (b), we give a construction of multi-variable $p$-adic functionals on the overconvergent cohomology groups for $\mathrm{GL}(2n)$, interpolating the zeta integrals of (a). We exploit the resulting non-vanishing of these functionals to prove our main arithmetic applications.

Abstract:The object of this paper is to study GL(2,R) orbit closures in hyperelliptic components of strata of abelian differentials. The main result is that all higher rank affine invariant submanifolds in hyperelliptic components are branched covering constructions, i.e. every translation surface in the affine invariant submanifold covers a translation surface in a lower genus hyperelliptic component of a stratum of abelian differentials. This result implies finiteness of algebraically primitive Teichmuller curves in all hyperelliptic components for genus greater than two. A classification of all GL(2, R) orbit closures in hyperelliptic components of strata (up to computing connected components and up to finitely many nonarithmetic rank one orbit closures) is provided. Our main theorem resolves a pair of conjectures of Mirzakhani in the case of hyperelliptic components of moduli space.
