Abstract:The government's pay offer for consultants in England was narrowly rejected by BMA members in a recent referendum.1 We have listened to feedback and are continuing discussions with the government to tackle members' concerns. It's important that the offer is presented accurately, and it was therefore disappointing to read, in the same issue that you reported the referendum result, three letters234 that make inaccurate statements.They claim that the offer was "unfair" and favoured consultants with longer service.
