Abstract:Brück's conjecture asserts that if a non-constant entire function f ( z ) with hyper-order shares one finite value a CM (counting multiplicities) with its derivative, then , for some non-zero constant c . This conjecture has been affirmed for entire functions with finite order and hyper-order less than one. In this paper, we show that Brück's conjecture is true for entire functions that satisfy second order differential equations with meromorphic coefficients of finite order.

Abstract:We study the geometry and partial differential equations arising from the consideration of group-determinants, and representation theory. The simplest and most striking such example is undoubtedly that of the Humbert operator, associated with the cyclic group Z/3Z. This operator appears as a natural extension of the Laplacian in dimension 2. Another originality of our work is to show that the spectral theory of operators associated with Frobenius determinants is closely linked to finite Fourier transform theory.

Abstract:In this paper, we derive some practical necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution to a new system of coupled two-sided Sylvester-like matrix equations with arbitrary number of equations and unknowns over the quaternion algebra. As applications, we give some practical necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of an η -Hermitian solution to a system of quaternion matrix equations in terms of ranks. We also use graphs to represent linear mappings associated with some Sylvester-type systems. As a special case of the main theorem, we prove a conjecture is correct, which was proposed in [Linear Algebra Appl. 2016;496:549–593]. The main findings of this paper widely extend almost all the known results in the literature.

Abstract:In this paper we mainly study the existence and the form of entire solutions with finite order for the following system of Fermat-type difference and partial differential-difference equations $$\begin{cases} f_1(z)^2+(\Delta_cf_2(z))^2=1\cr f_2(z)^2+(\Delta_cf_1(z))^2=1,\end{cases}$$ $$\begin{cases} a_1^2f_1(z)^2+(a_2f_2(z+c)+a_3f_2(z))^2=1\cr a_1^2f_2(z)^2+(a_2f_1(z+c)+a_3f_1(z))^2=1,\end{cases}$$ $$\begin{cases} (a_1f_1(z+c)+a_2f_1(z))^2+(a_3f_2(z+c)+a_4f_2(z))^2=1\cr (a_1f_2(z+c)+a_2f_2(z))^2+(a_3f_1(z+c)+a_4f_1(z))^2=1,\end{cases}$$ and $$\begin{cases} (\partial^{I}f_1(z)+\partial^{J}f_1(z))^{n_1}+f_2(z+c)^{m_1}=1\cr (\partial^{I}f_2(z)+\partial^{J}f_2(z))^{n_2}+f_1(z+c)^{m_2}=1\end{cases}$$ in several complex variables. Some of our results are improvements and extensions of the previous theorems given by Zheng-Xu \cite{Zheng-Xu & Analysis math & 2021}, Xu-Cao \cite{Xu & Cao & 2018}, Xu \textit{et. al.} \cite{Xu-Liu-Li-JMAA-2020} and Li \textit{et. al.} \cite{Li-Zhang-Xu & 2021 & AIMS}. Moreover, we give some examples which are relevant to the content of the paper.

Asymptotic solutions for linear ODEs with not-necessarily meromorphic coefficients: a Levinson type theorem on complex domains, and applications

Abstract:In this paper, we consider systems of linear ordinary differential equations, with analytic coefficients on big sectorial domains, which are asymptotically diagonal for large values of $|z|$. Inspired by N. Levinson's work [Lev48], we introduce two conditions on the dominant diagonal term (the $L$-$condition$) and on the perturbation term (the $good\,\,decay\,\,condition$) of the coefficients of the system, respectively. Under these conditions, we show the existence and uniqueness, on big sectorial domains, of an $asymptotic$ fundamental matrix solution, i.e. asymptotically equivalent (for large $|z|$) to a fundamental system of solutions of the unperturbed diagonal system. Moreover, a refinement (in the case of subdominant solutions) and a generalization (in the case of systems depending on parameters) of this result are given. As a first application, we address the study of a class of ODEs with not-necessarily meromorphic coefficients. We provide sufficient conditions on the coefficients ensuring the existence and uniqueness of an asymptotic fundamental system of solutions, and we give an explicit description of the maximal sectors of validity for such an asymptotics. Furthermore, we also focus on distinguished examples in this class of ODEs arising in the context of open conjectures in Mathematical Physics relating Integrable Quantum Field Theories and affine opers ($ODE/IM\,\,correspondence$). Our results fill two significant gaps in the mathematical literature pertaining to these conjectural relations. As a second application, we consider the classical case of ODEs with meromorphic coefficients. Under an $adequateness$ condition on the coefficients, we show that our results reproduce (with a shorter proof) the main asymptotic existence theorems of Y. Sibuya [Sib62, Sib68] and W. Wasow [Was65] in their optimal refinements.

On non-Hermitian positive (semi)definite linear algebraic systems arising from dissipative Hamiltonian DAEs

Abstract:We discuss different cases of dissipative Hamiltonian differential-algebraic equations and the linear algebraic systems that arise in their linearization or discretization. For each case we give examples from practical applications. An important feature of the linear algebraic systems is that the (non-Hermitian) system matrix has a positive definite or semidefinite Hermitian part. In the positive definite case we can solve the linear algebraic systems iteratively by Krylov subspace methods based on efficient three-term recurrences. We illustrate the performance of these iterative methods on several examples. The semidefinite case can be challenging and requires additional techniques to deal with "singular part", while the "positive definite part" can still be treated with the three-term recurrence methods.

Abstract:We summarize our theory on existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions for linear equations in infinitely many derivatives of the form f(∂t)φ=J(t),t≥0, where f is an analytic function such as the (analytic continuation of the) Riemann zeta function. We explain how to analyse initial value problems for these equations, and we prove rigorously that the function φ(t)=∑n≥1μ(n)nhJ(t−ln⁡(n)), in which μ is the Möbius function and J satisfies some technical conditions to be specified in Section 4 , is the solution to the zeta nonlocal equation ζ(∂t+h)φ=J(t),t≥0, in which ζ is the Riemann zeta function and h>1 . We also present explicit examples of solutions to initial value problems for this equation. Our constructions can be interpreted as highlighting the importance of the cosmological daemon functions considered by Aref'eva and Volovich in their paper [Cosmological Daemon, J. High Energy Physics 2011 no. 8, Paper 102, 29 pp.] Our main technical tool is the Laplace transform as a unitary operator between the Lebesgue space L2 and the Hardy space H2 .

Abstract:Abstract We study the Hamilton–Jacobi equations in M and in where the Hamiltonian depends Lipschitz continuously on the variable u. In the framework of the semicontinuous viscosity solutions due to Barron–Jensen, we establish the comparison principle, existence theorem, and representation formula as value functions for extended real-valued, lower semicontinuous solutions for the Cauchy problem. We also establish some results on the long-time behavior of solutions for the Cauchy problem and classification of solutions for the stationary problem.
Compact almost automorphic dynamics of non-autonomous differential equations with exponential dichotomy and applications to biological models with delay

Abstract:In the present work, we prove that, if $A(\cdot)$ is a compact almost automorphic matrix and the system $$x'(t) = A(t)x(t)\, ,$$ possesses an exponential dichotomy with Green function $G(\cdot, \cdot)$, then its associated system $$y'(t) = B(t)y(t)\, ,$$ where $B(\cdot) \in H(A)$ (the hull of $A(\cdot)$) also possesses an exponential dichotomy. Moreover, the Green function $G(\cdot, \cdot)$ is compact Bi-almost automorphic in $\mathbb{R}^2$, this implies that $G(\cdot, \cdot)$ is $\Delta_2$ - like uniformly continuous, where $\Delta_2$ is the principal diagonal of $\mathbb{R}^2$, an important ingredient in the proof of invariance of the compact almost automorphic function space under convolution product with kernel $G(\cdot, \cdot)$. Finally, we study the existence of a positive compact almost automorphic solution of non-autonomous differential equations of biological interest having non-linear harvesting terms and mixed delays.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a new infinite-dimensional linking theorem without (PS)-type assumptions. The new theorem needs a weaker linking geometry and produces bounded (PS) sequences. The abstract result will be applied to the study of the existence of solutions of the strongly indefinite partial differential systems. For the first application, we consider the systemΔu=uinΩ,Δv=vinΩ,∂u/∂η=Hv(x,u,v)on∂Ω,∂v/∂η=Hu(x,u,v)on∂Ω,where Ω is a bounded domain in RN with smooth boundary, ∂∂η is the outer normal derivative, H:∂Ω×R×R→R is a positive C1-function. One nontrivial solution is obtained. The second application, we will solve the eigenvalue problem of the systemAv=−f(x,v,w),Bw=βg(x,v,w),β>0,where A, B are self-adjoint operators on L2(Ω), Ω⊂RN is not necessarily bounded; f,g are Carathéodory functions on Ω×R2. We get infinitely many solutions. We deal with asymptotically linear cases for both systems.

Abstract:The Morales-Ramis theory provides an effective and powerful non-integrability criterion for complex analytical Hamiltonian systems via the differential Galoisian obstruction. In this paper we give a new Morales-Ramis type theorem on the meromorphic Jacobi non-integrability of general analytic dynamical systems. The key point is to show the existence of Jacobian multiplier of a nonlinear system implies the existence of common Jacobian multiplier of Lie algebra associated with the identity component. In addition, we apply our results to the polynomial integrability of Karabut systems for stationary gravity waves in finite depth.
