Abstract:We study the geometry and partial differential equations arising from the consideration of group-determinants, and representation theory. The simplest and most striking such example is undoubtedly that of the Humbert operator, associated with the cyclic group Z/3Z. This operator appears as a natural extension of the Laplacian in dimension 2. Another originality of our work is to show that the spectral theory of operators associated with Frobenius determinants is closely linked to finite Fourier transform theory.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve mainly focus on two aspects: 1. **Study the geometry and spectral theory of partial differential equations defined by group determinants**: - The paper explores the geometric properties and spectral theory of partial differential equations arising from group determinants and representation theory. In particular, the author studies the spectral theory of operators related to Frobenius determinants and links it to the theory of the finite Fourier transform. - Specifically, by studying the kernels and eigenvalue problems of partial differential equations defined by Frobenius determinants, the paper reveals the structure and properties of the solutions of these equations. 2. **Explore the relationship between Frobenius determinants and almost - Frobenius structures and toric structures**: - The paper also studies the relationships between Frobenius determinants, linear algebraic groups, almost - Frobenius structures, and toric geometry. The author proves that in some cases, Frobenius determinants can be factored into linear polynomials, which leads to the emergence of certain toric varieties. - Through the study of the inverse matrices of Frobenius matrices, the paper shows that the set of these matrices is a connected linear algebraic group, and when the group is non - commutative, this group is a linearly reductive group. ### Overview of Main Content - **Definition and Properties of Frobenius Determinants**: - For a finite group \(G\), the Frobenius determinant is defined as \( \Theta(G)((X_g)_{g\in G})=\det(X_{gh^{-1}})\). This determinant is a homogeneous polynomial in the variables \(X_g\) and has important factorization properties. - For example, for the cyclic group \(Z / nZ\), the Frobenius determinant can be factored into a linear combination of circular roots. - **Kernels and Eigenvalue Problems of Partial Differential Equations**: - By replacing the variables \(X_g\) with the corresponding partial derivative symbols \( \partial_g=\frac{\partial}{\partial X_g}\), the Frobenius determinant becomes a partial differential operator \( \Theta(G)((\partial_g)_{g\in G})\). - The author studies the kernels and eigenvalue problems of these partial differential operators and finds some non - trivial global holomorphic functions as solutions of these operators. - **Relationship between Frobenius Determinants and Toric Geometry**: - The paper explores the connection between Frobenius determinants and almost - Frobenius structures and toric geometry. In particular, the author proves that in some cases, the symbol of the Frobenius determinant can be factored into linear polynomials, thus leading to the emergence of certain toric varieties. - Through the study of the inverse matrices of Frobenius matrices, the paper shows that the set of these matrices is a connected linear algebraic group, and when the group is non - commutative, this group is a linearly reductive group. ### Important Conclusions - **Factorization of Frobenius Determinants**: - For a finite non - commutative group \(G\), the Frobenius determinant can be factored into a product of several irreducible polynomials, and the degree \(f_i\) of each irreducible polynomial satisfies \(f_i\mid n\) and \(\sum_{i = 1}^s f_i^2=n\). - **Solutions of Partial Differential Equations**: - By means of Cayley operators and the methods of classical invariant theory, the author finds some non - trivial global holomorphic functions as solutions of the partial differential equations defined by Frobenius determinants. - **Algebraic Structure of Frobenius Matrices**: - The author proves that the set of inverse matrices of Frobenius matrices is a connected linear algebraic group, and when the group is non - commutative, this group is a linearly reductive group. Through these studies, the paper not only deepens the understanding of Frobenius determinants.
