We proved that if 0 < α < 1, α/2 < s < α and $$f \in {H^s}(\mathbb{M})$$ then the fractional Schrödinger propagator $${{\rm{e}}^{{\rm{i}}t{{\cal L}^{\alpha /2}}}}$$ on $$\mathbb{M}$$ satisfies $${{\rm{e}}^{{\rm{i}}t{{\cal L}^{\alpha /2}}}}f(x) - f(x) = o({t^{s/\alpha - \varepsilon }})$$ almost everywhere as t → 0+, for any ε > 0.

Abstract:We describe an algorithm to organize Feynman integrals in terms of their infrared properties. Our approach builds upon the theory of Landau singularities, which we use to classify all configurations of loop momenta that can give rise to infrared divergences. We then construct bases of numerators for arbitrary Feynman integrals, which cancel all singularities and render the integrals finite. Through the same analysis, one can also classify so-called evanescent and evanescently finite Feynman integrals. These are integrals whose vanishing or finiteness relies on properties of dimensional regularization. To illustrate the use of these integrals, we display how to obtain a simpler form for the leading-color two-loop four-gluon scattering amplitude through the choice of a suitable basis of finite integrals. In particular, when all gluon helicities are equal, we show that with our basis the most complicated double-box integrals do not contribute to the finite remainder of the scattering amplitude.

Finite Integrals from Feynman Polytopes

Abstract:We investigate a geometric approach to determining the complete set of numerators giving rise to finite Feynman integrals. Our approach proceeds graph by graph, and makes use of the Newton polytope associated to the integral's Symanzik polynomials. It relies on a theorem by Berkesch, Forsgård, and Passare on the convergence of Euler--Mellin integrals, which include Feynman integrals. We conjecture that a necessary in addition to a sufficient condition is that all parameter-space monomials lie in the interior of the polytope. We present an algorithm for finding all finite numerators based on this conjecture. In a variety of examples, we find agreement between the results obtained using the geometric approach, and a Landau-analysis approach developed by Gambuti, Tancredi, and two of the authors.

Feynman path integrals on compact Lie groups with bi-invariant Riemannian metrics and Schrödinger equations

Abstract:In this work we consider a suitable generalization of the Feynman path integral on a specific class of Riemannian manifolds consisting of compact Lie groups with bi-invariant Riemannian metrics. The main tools we use are the Cartan development map, the notion of oscillatory integral, and the Chernoff approximation theorem. We prove that, for a class of functions of a dense subspace of the relevant Hilbert space, the Feynman map produces the solution of the Schrödinger equation, where the Laplace-Beltrami operator coincides with the second order Casimir operator of the group.

Abstract:We study approximations of Riemann–Liouville type integrals on the interval . The approximation method involves an operator constructed by replacing the density of the integral with partial sums of Fourier–Chebyshev series. Integral representations and estimates of these approximations are established for the cases in which the density belongs to some classes of continuous functions. The estimates substantially depend on the position of the point on the interval.

Abstract:The Feynman path integral is defined over the space $\mathbb{R}^T$ of all possible paths; it has been a powerful tool to develop Quantum Mechanics. The absolute value of Feynman's integrand is not integrable, then Lebesgue integration theory could not be used by Feynman. However, it exists formally as a Henstock integral (which does not require the measure concept) and is a suitable alternative to the ordinary integrals that normally appear in path integrals. Feynman proved the equivalence of his theory with the traditional formulation of Quantum Mechanics, since his path integral satisfies Schrödinger's equation. On the other hand, Feynman's path integral is related to the diagrams of Feynman. For the application of this integral in Feynman's diagrams it is necessary to exchange the integral $\int_{\mathbb{R}^T}$ and the series. We discuss the impossibility to exchange the integral and the sum, considering integral of Henstock and the version of Dominated Convergence Theorem. Even it has not been proved through the several mathematical formalisms that have been used.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the singularities of Feynman integrals by compactifying the integration domain as well as the ambient space of these integrals, by embedding them in higher-dimensional space. In this compactified space, the singularities occur due to the meeting of compactified propagators at non-general position. The present analysis, which had been previously used only for the singularities of second type, is used to study other kinds of singularities viz threshold, pseudo-threshold and anomalous threshold singularities. We study various one-loop and two-loop examples and obtain their singularities. We also present observations based on results obtained, that allow us to determine whether the singularities lie on the physical sheet or not for some simple cases. Thus, this work at the frontier of our knowledge of Feynman integral calculus sheds insight into the analytic structure.

Abstract:We propose a natural, parameter-free, discrete-variable formulation of Feynman path integrals. We show that for discrete-variable quantum systems, Feynman path integrals take the form of walks on the graph whose weighted adjacency matrix is the Hamiltonian. By working out expressions for the partition function and transition amplitudes of discretized versions of continuous-variable quantum systems, and then taking the continuum limit, we explicitly recover Feynman's continuous-variable path integrals. We also discuss the implications of our result.

Abstract:We present a novel approach for loop integral reduction in the Feynman parametrization using intersection theory and relative cohomology. In this framework, Feynman integrals correspond to boundary-supported differential forms in the language of relative cohomology. The integral reduction can then be achieved by computing intersection numbers. We apply our method in several examples to demonstrate its correctness, and discuss the subtleties in certain degenerate limits.

Abstract:We show that all Feynman integrals in two Euclidean dimensions with massless propagators and arbitrary non-integer propagator powers can be expressed in terms of single-valued analogues of Aomoto-Gelfand hypergeometric functions. The latter can themselves be written as bilinears of hypergeometric functions, with coefficients that are intersection numbers in a twisted homology group. As an application, we show that all one-loop integrals in two dimensions with massless propagators can be written in terms of Lauricella functions, while the L -loop ladder integrals are related to the generalised hypergeometric L +1 F L functions.

Abstract:We investigate discretizations of the integrable discrete nonlinear Schrödinger dynamical system and related symplectic structures. We develop an effective scheme of invariant reducing the corresponding infinite system of ordinary differential equations to an equivalent finite system of ordinary differential equations with respect to the evolution parameter. We construct a finite set of recurrent algebraic regular relations allowing to generate solutions of the discrete nonlinear Schrödinger dynamical system and we discuss the related functional spaces of solutions. Finally, we discuss the Fourier transform approach to studying the solution set of the discrete nonlinear Schrödinger dynamical system and its functional–analytical aspects.
