Abstract:Prolongations of a group extension can be studied in a more general situation that we call group extensions of the co-type of a crossed module. Cohomology classification of such extensions is obtained by applying the obstruction theory of monoidal functors.

The approach has various advantages, one of them being that the crossed product is an universal object. Abstract:The aim of this paper is the Ore extension of group-cograded Hopf coquasigroups. This paper first shows a categorical interpretation and some examples of group-cograded Hopf coquasigroups, and then gives a necessary and sufficient conditions for the Ore extensions of group-cograded Hopf coquasigroups to be group-cograded Hopf coquasigroups. Finally, a certain isomorphism between Ore extensions are considered.

Categorical properties and homological conjectures for bounded extensions of algebras

Abstract:An extension $B\subset A$ of finite dimensional algebras is bounded if the $B$-$B$-bimodule $A/B$ is $B$-tensor nilpotent, its projective dimension is finite and $\mathrm{Tor}_i^B(A/B, (A/B)^{\otimes_B j})=0$ for all $i, j\geq 1$. We show that for a bounded extension $B\subset A$, the algebras $A$ and $B$ are singularly equivalent of Morita type with level. Additionally, under mild conditions, their stable categories of Gorenstein projective modules and Gorenstein defect categories are equivalent, respectively. Some homological conjectures are also investigated for bounded extensions, including Auslander-Reiten conjecture, finististic dimension conjecture, Fg condition, Han's conjecture, and Keller's conjecture. Applications to trivial extensions and triangular matrix algebras are given. In course of proof, we give some handy criteria for a functor between module categories to induce triangle functors between stable categories of Gorenstein projective modules and Gorenstein defect categories, which generalise some known criteria, and hence might be of independent interest.

Computing $G$-Crossed Extensions and Orbifolds of Vertex Operator Algebras

Abstract:In this article, we develop tools for computing $G$-crossed extensions of braided tensor categories, including all coherence data (associator, braiding, tensor structures). Their equivariantisations describe representation categories of fixed-point vertex operator algebras, also called orbifolds. The seminal work of Etingof, Nikshych and Ostrik asserts the existence and uniqueness of the $G$-crossed extensions we construct. In particular, for the group $G=\mathbb{Z}_2$ acting as inversion on a discriminant form or metric group, we explicitly construct a braided $\mathbb{Z}_2$-crossed tensor category with a nondegenerate braiding that generalises the Tambara-Yamagami category, now with more than one simple object in the twisted sector. Its equivariantisation yields the modular tensor category of the orbifold of a lattice vertex operator algebra under a lift of $-\mathrm{id}$. In order to derive the above result, we show that $G$-crossed extensions and condensations by commutative algebras commute appropriately, leading to an effective method for constructing new $G$-crossed extensions. Based on this, we also outline a strategy for addressing the general problem of lattice orbifolds.

Abstract:Results on the finiteness of induced crossed modules are proved both algebraically and topologically. Using the Van Kampen type theorem for the fundamental crossed module, applications are given to the 2-types of mapping cones of classifying spaces of groups. Calculations of the cohomology classes of some finite crossed modules are given, using crossed complex methods.

Abstract:In this work we study the notion of Whitehead sequence in the category of crossed modules and actions of crossed modules. As expected, Whitehead sequences in that context are the same as crossed squares. We investigate under which conditions a Whitehead sequence of crossed modules gives rise to an internal groupoid in the category of crossed modules. In other words, we explicitly investigate the so called "Smith is Huq" condition in the category of crossed modules.

Abstract:We explicitly construct nondegenerate braided $\mathbb{Z}_2$-crossed tensor categories of the form $\operatorname{Vect}_\Gamma\oplus\operatorname{Vect}_{\Gamma/2\Gamma}$. They are $\mathbb{Z}_2$-crossed extensions, in the sense of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="0909.3140" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/0909.3140">arXiv:0909.3140</a>, of the braided tensor category $\operatorname{Vect}_\Gamma$ with $\mathbb{Z}_2$-action given by $-\mathrm{id}$ on the finite, abelian group $\Gamma$. Thus, we obtain generalisations of the Tambara-Yamagami categories, where now the abelian group $\Gamma$ may have even order and the nontrivial sector $\operatorname{Vect}_{\Gamma/2\Gamma}$ more than one simple object. The idea for this construction comes from a physically motivated approach in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2409.16357" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2409.16357">arXiv:2409.16357</a> to construct $\mathbb{Z}_2$-crossed extensions of $\operatorname{Vect}_\Gamma$ for any $\Gamma$ from an infinite Tambara-Yamagami category $\operatorname{Vect}_{\mathbb{R}^d}\oplus\operatorname{Vect}$, which itself is not fully rigorously defined, and then using condensation from $\operatorname{Vect}_{\mathbb{R}^d}$ to $\operatorname{Vect}_\Gamma$, which we prove commutes with crossed extensions. The $\mathbb{Z}_2$-equivariantisation of $\operatorname{Vect}_\Gamma\oplus\operatorname{Vect}_{\Gamma/2\Gamma}$ yields new modular tensor categories, which correspond to the orbifold of an arbitrary lattice vertex operator algebra under a lift of $-\mathrm{id}$, as discussed in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2409.16357" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2409.16357">arXiv:2409.16357</a>.

Abstract:A braided $Ann$-category $\mathcal A$ is an $Ann$-category $\mathcal A$ together with a braiding $c$ such that $(\mathcal A, \otimes, a, c, (1,l,r))$ is a braided tensor category, moreover $c$ is compatible with the distributivity constraints. According to the structure transport theorem, the paper shows that each braided $Ann$-category is equivalent to a braided $Ann$-category of the type $(R,M)$, hence the proof of the classification theorem for braided $Ann$-categories by the cohomology of commutative rings is presented.

Abstract:Each Gr-functor of the type $(\varphi,f)$ of a Gr-category of the type $(\Pi,\C)$ has the obstruction be an element $\overline{k}\in H^3(\Pi,\C).$ When this obstruction vanishes, there exists a bijection between congruence classes of Gr-functors of the type $(\varphi,f)$ and the cohomology group $H^2(\Pi,\C).$ Then the relation of Gr-category theory and the group extension problem can be established and used to prove that each Gr-category is Gr-equivalent to a strict one.

Categorical equivalences for Hopf trusses and their modules

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the notion of generalized invertible 1-cocycle in a strict braided monoidal category C, and we prove that the category of Hopf trusses is equivalent to the category of generalized invertible 1-cocycles. On the other hand, we also introduce the notions of module for a Hopf truss and for a generalized invertible 1-cocycle. We prove some functorial results involving these categories of modules and we show that the category of modules associated to a generalized invertible 1-cocycle is equivalent to a category of modules associated to a suitable Hopf truss. Finally, assuming that in C we have equalizers, we introduce the notion of Hopf-module in the Hopf truss setting and we obtain the Fundamental Theorem of Hopf modules associated to a Hopf truss.

Abstract:This paper contains some basic results on 2-groupoids, with special emphasis on computing derived mapping 2-groupoids between 2-groupoids and proving their invariance under strictification. Some of the results proven here are presumably folklore (but do not appear in the literature to the author's knowledge) and some of the results seem to be new. The main technical tool used throughout the paper is the Quillen model structure on the category of 2-groupoids introduced by Moerdijk and Svensson.

Abstract:We define a categorical action of the shifted quantum loop group of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ on the derived categories of Quot schemes of finite length quotient sheaves on a smooth projective curve. As an application, we obtain a semi-orthogonal decomposition of the derived categories of Quot schemes, of representation theoretic origin. We use this decomposition to calculate the cohomology of interesting tautological vector bundles over the Quot scheme.

Abstract:We extend the notion of the nerve of a category for a small class of crossed simplicial groups, explicitly describing them using generators and relations. We do this by first considering a generalised bar construction of a group before looking at twisted versions of some of these nerves. As an application we show how we can use the twisted nerves to give equivariant versions of certain derived stacks.

Abstract:For a pair $(G,N)$ of a group $G$ and its normal subgroup $N$, we consider the space of quasimorphisms and quasi-cocycles on $N$ non-extendable to $G$. To treat this space, we establish the five-term exact sequence of cohomology relative to the bounded subcomplex. As its application, we study the spaces associated with the kernel of the (volume) flux homomorphism, the IA-automorphism group of a free group, and certain normal subgroups of Gromov-hyperbolic groups. Furthermore, we employ this space to prove that the stable commutator length is equivalent to the stable mixed commutator length for certain pairs of a group and its normal subgroup.

Hopf Galois extensions of Hopf algebroids

Abstract:We study Hopf Galois extensions of Hopf algebroids as a generalization of the theory for Hopf algebras. More precisely, we introduce (skew-)regular comodules and generalize the structure theorem for relative Hopf modules. Also, we show that if $N\subseteq P$ is a left $\mathcal{L}$-Galois extension and $\Gamma$ is a 2-cocycle of $\mathcal{L}$, then for the twisted comodule algebra ${}_{\Gamma}P$, $N\subseteq{}_{\Gamma}P$ is a left Hopf Galois extension of the twisted Hopf algebroid $\mathcal{L}^{\Gamma}$. We study twisted Drinfeld doubles of Hopf algebroids as examples for the Drinfeld twist theory. Finally, we introduce cleft extension and $\sigma$-twisted crossed products of Hopf algebroids. Moreover, we show the equivalence of cleft extensions, $\sigma$-twisted crossed products, and Hopf Galois extensions with normal basis properties, which generalize the theory of cleft extensions of Hopf algebras.
