Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the definition of groupoid graded rings. Group graded rings, (skew) groupoid rings, artinian semisimple rings, matrix rings and others can be regarded as special kinds of groupoid graded rings. Our main task is to classify strongly groupoid graded rings by cohomology of groupoids. Some classical results about group graded rings are generalized to groupoid graded rings. In particular, the Clifford Theorem for a strongly groupoid graded ring is given.

Abstract:We survey the extensions of a group by a group using crossed products instead of exact sequences of groups. The approach has various advantages, one of them being that the crossed product is an universal object. Several new applications are given, a general Schreier type theorem is proved and a few open problems are left.

Abstract:Each Gr-functor of the type $(\varphi,f)$ of a Gr-category of the type $(\Pi,\C)$ has the obstruction be an element $\overline{k}\in H^3(\Pi,\C).$ When this obstruction vanishes, there exists a bijection between congruence classes of Gr-functors of the type $(\varphi,f)$ and the cohomology group $H^2(\Pi,\C).$ Then the relation of Gr-category theory and the group extension problem can be established and used to prove that each Gr-category is Gr-equivalent to a strict one.

Abstract:Following the idea of a group with action in a higher dimension, we consider crossed modules with a given crossed-module action upon themselves. A category of these objects XMod * is given by replacing the set of morphisms in the category Gr * of groups with action by the set of φ-crossed homomorphisms of a modified form. Moreover, the connections of XMod * with some other known categories, such as Gr * and XMod , are given by describing some related functors.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate extensions between graded Verma modules in the Bernstein–Gelfand–Gelfand category . In particular, we determine exactly which information about extensions between graded Verma modules is given by the coefficients of the R-polynomials. We also give some upper bounds for the dimensions of graded extensions between Verma modules in terms of Kazhdan–Lusztig combinatorics. We completely determine all extensions between Verma module in the regular block of category for and construct various "unexpected" higher extensions between Verma modules.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a $G$-graded ring. In this article, we introduce two new concepts on graded rings, namely, weakly graded rings and invertible graded rings, and we discuss the relations between these concepts and several properties of graded rings. Also, we study the concept of weakly crossed products and study some properties defined on weakly crossed product and give the relationship between this new concept and several properties of graded rings. Moreover, in this article, we give a generalization for the concept of graded essential submodules, and introduce the concept of graded semi-uniform modules which is a generalization for the concept of graded uniform modules.

Abstract:In this work, we use the concept of G-weak graded rings and G-weak graded modules, which are based on grading by a set G of left coset representatives for the left action of a subgroup H of a finite X on X, to define the conjugation action of the set G and to generalize and prove some results from the literature. In particular, we prove that a G-weak graded ring R is strongly graded if and only if each G-weak graded R-module V is induced by an ReG-module. Moreover, we prove that the additive induction functor (−)R and the restriction functor (−)eG form an equivalence between the categories G-GrR-Mod and ReG-Mod when R is strongly G-weak graded. Furthermore, some related results and illustrative examples of G-weak graded R-modules and their morphisms are provided.

Abstract:This is an overview of the idea of a crossed module. For a group, the triple that consists of the group, its group of automorphisms, and the canonical homomorphism from the group to its group of automorphisms constitutes a crossed module. Crossed modules arise from the identities among the relations of the presentation of a group, from the extension problem for groups and, more generally, in low dimensional topology. Also, the (successful) attempt to extend the idea of a normal extension of commutative fields to the realm of non-commutative algebras leads to crossed modules. Crossed modules appear implicitly in a forgotten paper by A. Turing which in principle settles the extension problem for groups. Crossed modules make perfect sense for Lie algebras.

Abstract:This paper contains some basic results on 2-groupoids, with special emphasis on computing derived mapping 2-groupoids between 2-groupoids and proving their invariance under strictification. Some of the results proven here are presumably folklore (but do not appear in the literature to the author's knowledge) and some of the results seem to be new. The main technical tool used throughout the paper is the Quillen model structure on the category of 2-groupoids introduced by Moerdijk and Svensson.

Abstract:We define the notion of crossed modules for Lie 2-algebras. To a given crossed module, we associate a strict Lie 3-algebra structure on its mapping cone complex and a strict Lie 2-algebra structure on its derivations. Abstract:In this work we study the notion of Whitehead sequence in the category of crossed modules and actions of crossed modules. As expected, Whitehead sequences in that context are the same as crossed squares. We investigate under which conditions a Whitehead sequence of crossed modules gives rise to an internal groupoid in the category of crossed modules.
