Abstract:The linear cascade of the transonic compressor studied in this paper integrates an endwall bionic chamber structure, inspired by the wing structure of dragonflies. This design aims to mitigate corner separation flow and optimize aerodynamic performance. Numerical simulations are employed to analyze how various depths and placements of the bionic chambers influence flow field structure and aerodynamic performance. The paper also focuses on how the bionic structure affects the incidence angle characteristics of the cascade. The results demonstrate that the trapped vortices (TV), generated by the bionic structure, augment the turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) and shrink the flow separation area within the boundary layer, effectively curbing flow loss within the cascade. It is recommended that the endwall bionic chambers be arranged before the flow separation onset. The amelioration of flow loss improves as more chambers are positioned from the leading edge (LE). By contrast, the amelioration first increases and then decreases as the chamber depth increases. By placing the bionic chambers uniformly and entirely at equal intervals along the suction side (SS) and setting the depth to 0.2% H , the cascade's flow loss is reduced by 11.2%. Additionally, the cascade with endwall bionic chambers exhibits favorable incidence angle characteristics.
