Abstract:We introduce a theory of cyclic Kummer extensions of commutative rings for partial Galois extensions of finite groups, extending some of the well-known results of the theory of Kummer extensions of commutative rings developed by A. Z. Borevich. In particular, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions to determine when a partial $n$-kummerian extension is equivalent to either a radical or a $I$-radical extension, for some subgroup $I$ of the cyclic group $C_n$.

Abstract:In this paper, assume that $ H $ is a Hopf algebra and $ A/B $ is an $ H $-Galois extension. Firstly, by introducing the concept of an $ H $-stable tilting complex $ T_{\bullet} $ over $ B $, we show that $ T_{\bullet}\otimes_BA $ is a tilting complex over $ A $ and a derived equivalence between two $ H $-module algebras can be extended to smash product algebras under some conditions. Then we observe that $ 0\rightarrow {\rm End}_{\mathcal{D}^b(B)}(T_{\bullet})\rightarrow {\rm End}_{\mathcal{D}^b(A)}(T_{\bullet}\otimes_BA) $ is an $ H $-Galois Frobenius extension if $ A/B $ is an $ H $-Galois Frobenius extension. Finally, for any perfect recollement of derived categories of $ H $-module algebras, we apply the above results to construct a perfect recollement of derived categories of their smash product algebras and generalize it to $ n $-recollements.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study the generalization of inverse semigroups (without order). An ordered semigroup S is called an inverse ordered semigroup if for every a 2 S, any two inverses of a are H-related. We prove that an ordered semigroup is complete semilattice of t-simple ordered semigroups if and only if it is completely regular and inverse. Furthermore characterizations of inverse ordered semigroups have been characterized by their ordered idempotents.

Abstract:We curry the elementary arithmetic operations of addition and multiplication to give monotone injections on N, and describe & study the inverse monoids that arise from also considering their generalised inverses. This leads to well-known classic inverse monoids, as well as a novel inverse monoid (the 'arithmetic inverse monoid' A) that generalises these in a natural number-theoretic manner. Based on this, we interpret classic inverse semigroup theoretic concepts arithmetically, and vice versa. Composition and normal forms within A are based on the Chinese remainder theorem, and a minimal generating set corresponds to all prime-order polycyclic monoids. This then gives a close connection between Nivat & Perot's normal forms for polycyclic monoids, mixed-radix counting systems, and p-adic norms & distances.

The Case for Inverse Semirings

Abstract:A semiring generalises the notion of a ring, replacing the additive abelian group structure with that of a commutative monoid. In this paper, we study a notion positioned between a ring and a semiring -- a semiring whose additive monoid is a commutative inverse semigroup. These inverse semirings include some important classes of semirings, as well as some new motivating examples. We devote particular attention to the inverse semiring of bounded polynomials and argue for their computational significance. We then prove a number of fundamental results about inverse semirings, their modules and their ideals. Parts of the theory show strong similarities with rings, while other parts are akin to the theory of idempotent semirings or distributive lattices. We note in particular that downward-closed submodules are precisely kernels. We end by exploring a connection to the theory of E-unitary inverse semigroups.

Abstract:We prove a Galois correspondence theorem for groupoids acting orthogonally and partially on commutative rings. We also consider partial actions that are not orthogonal, presenting two correspondences in this case: one for strongly Galois partial groupoid actions and one for global groupoid actions (without restriction). Some examples are illustrated.

Abstract:We study the defining ideal of a numerical semigroup ring k [ H ] using the inverse polynomial attached to the Artinian ring k [ H ] / ( t h ) . We give a criterion for H to be symmetric or almost symmetric using the annihilator of the inverse system. Also we give characterizations of symmetric numerical semigroups with small multiplicity and give a new proof of Bresinsky's Theorem for symmetric semigroups generated by 4 elements.

Abstract:We describe the canonical module of a simplicial affine semigroup ring $\mathbb{K}[S]$ and its trace ideal. As a consequence, we characterize when $\mathbb{K}[S]$ is nearly Gorenstein in terms of arithmetic properties of the semigroup $S$. Then, we find some bounds for the Cohen-Macaulay type of $\mathbb{K}[S]$ when it is nearly Gorenstein. In particular, if it has codimension at most three, we prove that the Cohen-Macaulay type is at most three and this bound is sharp.

On Hopf Galois Extension of Separable Algebras

Abstract:In this paper, the classical Galois theory to the H*-Galois case is developed. Let H be a semisimple and cosemisimple Hopf algebra over a field k, A a left H-module algebra, and A/A H a right H*-Galois extension. The authors prove that, if A H is a separable k-algebra, then for any right coideal subalgebra B of H, the B-invariants A B = {a ∈ A | b · a = ε(b)a, ∀b ∈ B} is a separable k-algebra. They also establish a Galois connection between right coideal subalgebras of H and separable subalgebras of A containing A H as in the classical case. The results are applied to the case H = (kG)* for a finite group G to get a Galois 1-1 correspondence.
Purely Inseparable ring extensions

Abstract:We revisit the concept of special algebras, also known as \textit{purely inseparable ring extensions}. This concept extends the notion of purely inseparable field extensions to the more general context of extensions of commutative rings. We use differential operators methods to provide a characterization for a ring extension to be purely inseparable in terms of a condition on certain modules of differential operators associated to the ring extension. This approach is also used to recover an already known characterization involving the modules of principal parts. Next, given a purely inseparable ring extension $A\subset C$, we aim to understand which intermediate rings $A\subset B\subset C$ satisfy the property that both $A\subset B$ and $B\subset C$ are both flat extensions by considering only the subalgebra $\operatorname{End}_B(C)$ of $\operatorname{End}_A(C)$. To achieve this, we prove a generalization of the Jacobson-Bourbaki theorem on Galois correspondence for field extensions to the setting of commutative ring extensions with homeomorphic spectra. Finally, given a tower of ring extensions $A\subset B\subset C$, we consider the question of whether the fact that two of the three extensions $A\subset C$, $A\subset B$, and $B\subset C$ are purely inseparable implies that the third one is also purely inseparable.

On tamely ramified infinite Galois extensions

Abstract:For a number field $K$, we consider $K^{\rm ta}$ the maximal tamely ramified algebraic extension of~$K$, and its Galois group $G^{\rm ta}_K= Gal(K^{ta}/K)$. Choose a prime $p$ such that $\mu_p \not \subset K$. Our guiding aim is to characterize the finitely generated pro-$p$ quotients of~$G^{\rm ta}$. We give a {unified point of view} by introducing the notion of {\it stably inertially generated} pro-$p$ groups~$G$, for which linear groups are archetypes. This key notion {is compatible} with local {\it tame liftings} as used in the Scholz-Reichardt Theorem. We realize every finitely generated pro-$p$ group~$G$ which is stably inertially generated as a quotient of $G^{\rm ta}$. Further examples of groups that we realize as quotients of $G^{\rm ta}$ include congruence subgroups of special linear groups over ${\mathbb Z}_p[[ T_1,\cdots, T_n ]]$. Finally, we give classes of groups which cannot be realized as quotients of $G^{\rm ta}_{\mathbb Q}$.

Abstract:We review the concept of differentiably simple ring and we give a new proof of Harper's Theorem on the characterization of Noetherian differentiably simple rings in positive characteristic. We then study flat families of differentiably simple rings, or equivalently, finite flat extensions of rings which locally admit $p$-basis. These extensions are called "Galois extensions of exponent one". For such an extension $A\subset C$, we introduce an $A$-scheme, called the "Yuan scheme", which parametrizes subextensions $A\subset B\subset C$ such that $B\subset C$ is Galois of a fixed rank. So, roughly, the Yuan scheme can be thought of as a kind of Grassmannian of Galois subextensions. We finally prove that the Yuan scheme is smooth and compute the dimension of the fibers.

Central extensions of preordered groups

Abstract:We prove that the category of preordered groups contains two full reflective subcategories that give rise to some interesting Galois theories. The first one is the category of the so-called commutative objects, which are precisely the preordered groups whose group law is commutative. The second one is the category of abelian objects, that turns out to be the category of monomorphisms in the category of abelian groups. We give a precise description of the reflector to this subcategory, and we prove that it induces an admissible Galois structure and then a natural notion of categorical central extension. We then characterize the central extensions of preordered groups in purely algebraic terms: these are shown to be the central extensions of groups having the additional property that their restriction to the positive cones is a special homogeneous surjection of monoids.

In this paper, we establish several sufficient conditions for a solvable group to be semiabelian mainly by using its Sylow subgroups. We also present a family of non-semiabelian 2-groups.

On matrix invertible extensions over commutative rings

Abstract:We introduce the class E2 (resp. SE2) of commutative rings R with the property that each unimodular 2 x 2 matrix with entries in R extends to an invertible 3 x 3 matrix (resp. invertible 3 x 3 matrix whose (3, 3) entry is 0). Among noetherian domains of dimension 1, polynomial rings over Z or Hermite rings, only EDRs belong to the class. Using this, stable ranges, and units and projective modules interpretations, we reobtain (often refine) criteria due to Kaplansky, McGovern, Roitman, Shchedryk, Wiegand and obtain new criteria for a Hermite ring to be an EDR. For instance, we characterize Hermite rings which are EDRs by (1) means of equations involving unimodular triples and (2) surjectivity of some maps involving units of factor rings by principal ideals. We use these criteria to show that each Bezout ring R that is either a J2,1 domain or an (SU)2 ring (as introduced by Lorenzini) such that for each nonzero a 2 R there exists no nontrivial self-dual projective R/Ra-module of rank 1 generated by 2 elements (e.g., all its elements are squares), is an EDR, thus solving or partially solving problems raised by Lorenzini. Many other classes of rings are introduced and studied. To ease the reading, this version concentrates only on extendability properties of unimodular 2 x 2 matrices and hence does not consider the case n > 2.

Abstract:The Hopf-Galois structures admitted by a Galois extension of fields $ L/K $ with Galois group $ G $ correspond bijectively with certain subgroups of $ \mathrm{Perm}(G) $. We use a natural partition of the set of such subgroups to obtain a method for partitioning the set of corresponding Hopf-Galois structures, which we term $ \rho $-conjugation. We study properties of this construction, with particular emphasis on the Hopf-Galois analogue of the Galois correspondence, the connection with skew left braces, and applications to questions of integral module structure in extensions of local or global fields. In particular, we show that the number of distinct $ \rho $-conjugates of a given Hopf-Galois structure is determined by the corresponding skew left brace, and that if $ H, H' $ are Hopf algebras giving $ \rho $-conjugate Hopf-Galois structures on a Galois extension of local or global fields $ L/K $ then an ambiguous ideal $ \mathfrak{B} $ of $ L $ is free over its associated order in $ H $ if and only if it is free over its associated order in $ H' $. We exhibit a variety of examples arising from interactions with existing constructions in the literature.

Abstract:The theory of generalized inverses of matrices and operators is closely connected with projections, i.e., idempotent (bounded) linear transformations. We show that a similar situation occurs in any associative ring $\mathcal{R}$ with a unit $1 \neq 0$. We prove that generalized inverses in $\mathcal{R}$ are related to idempotent group endomorphisms $\rho: \mathcal{R} \rightarrow \mathcal{R}$, called projectors. We use these relations to give characterizations and existence conditions for $\{1\}$, $\{2\}$, and $\{1,2\}$ inverses with any given principal/annihilator ideals. As a consequence, we obtain sufficient conditions for any right/left ideal of $\mathcal{R}$ to be a principal or an annihilator ideal of an idempotent element of $\mathcal{R}$. We then study some particular generalized inverses: Drazin and $(b,c)$ inverses, and in rings with involution, $(e,f)$ Moore-Penrose, $e$-core, $f$-dual core, $w$-core, $v$-dual core, right $w$-core, left $v$-dual core, and $(p,q)$ inverses.
