Abstract:This paper mainly deals with the following k -Hessian system with the nonlinear gradients where , , is the open unit ball in and is the k -Hessian operator of u . Some results about the existence of radial solutions are obtained by making some appropriate assumptions about -monotone matrices for . Based on the Jensen integral inequality and fixed point theorem, we have overcome the computational difficulties of k -Hessian system with gradients, and obtained the conclusion that the system has at least one radial solution and at least two radial solutions.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to studying the coupled system of multiparameter k -Hessian equations where B = { x ∈ R n : | x | < 1}, λ 1 , λ 2 are positive parameters, ρ i ( i = 1, 2) is singular near the boundary ∂B , f i ( i = 1, 2) satisfies a combined superlinear condition at ∞. Employing the fixed point theorem of Krasnosel'skii type in Banach space, the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial radial solutions are established. In particular, the dependence of the solutions on the parameters λ 1 , λ 2 is also discussed. Finally, we study the nonexistence results of nontrivial radial solutions for the case λ 1 , λ 2 ≫ 1.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a kind of $k$-Hessian type equations $S_k^{\frac{1}{k}}(D^2u+\mu|D u|I)= f(u)$ in $\mathbb{R}^n$, and provide a necessary and sufficient condition of $f$ on the existence and nonexistence of entire admissible subsolutions, which can be regarded as a generalized Keller-Osserman condition. The existence and nonexistence results are proved in different ranges of the parameter $\mu$ respectively, which embrace the standard Hessian equation case ($\mu=0$) by Ji and Bao (Proc Amer Math Soc 138: 175--188, 2010) as a typical example. The difference between the semilinear case ($k=1$) and the fully nonlinear case ($k\ge 2$) is also concerned.

Abstract:In this article, our main aim is to investigate the existence of radial k -convex solutions for the following Dirichlet system with k -Hessian operators: Here, u p 1 v q 1 is called a Lane-Emden type nonlinearity. The weight functions ν 1 , ν 2 ∈ C ( [ 0 , R ] , [ 0 , ∞ ) ) with ν 1 ( r ) > 0 < ν 2 ( r ) for all r ∈ ( 0 , R ] , p 1 , q 2 are nonnegative and q 1 , p 2 are positive exponents, B ( R ) = { x ∈ R N : ∣ x ∣ < R } , N ≥ 2 is an integer, N 2 ≤ k ≤ N . In order to achieve our main goal, we first study the existence of radial k -convex solutions of the above-mentioned systems with general nonlinear terms by using the upper and lower solution method and Leray-Schauder degree. Based on this, by constructing a continuous curve, which divides the first quadrant into two disjoint sets, we obtain the existence and multiplicity of radial k -convex solutions for the system depending on the parameters λ 1 , λ 2 and the continuous curve.

When $\lambda$ is large enough, we prove the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions to the equation.

Abstract:We study the quasilinear equation $(P)\qquad - {\rm div} (a(x,u,\nabla u)) +A_t(x,u,\nabla u) + |u|^{p-2}u\ =\ g(x,u) \qquad \hbox{in $\R^N$,} $ with $N\ge 3$ and $p > 1$. Here, we suppose $A : \R^N \times \R \times \R^N \to \R$ is a given ${C}^{1}$-Carathéodory function which grows as $|\xi|^p$ with $A_t(x,t,\xi) = \frac{\partial A}{\partial t}(x,t,\xi)$, $a(x,t,\xi) = \nabla_\xi A(x,t,\xi)$ and $g(x,t)$ is a given Carathéodory function on $\R^N \times \R$ which grows as $|\xi|^q$ with $1<q<p$. Suitable assumptions on $A(x,t,\xi)$ and $g(x,t)$ set off the variational structure of $(P)$ and its related functional $\J$ is $C^1$ on the Banach space $X = W^{1,p}(\R^N) \cap L^\infty(\R^N)$. In order to overcome the lack of compactness, we assume that the problem has radial symmetry, then we look for critical points of $\J$ restricted to $X_r$, subspace of the radial functions in $X$. Following an approach that exploits the interaction between the intersection norm in $X$ and the norm on $W^{1,p}(\R^N)$, we prove the existence of at least two weak bounded radial solutions of $(P)$, one positive and one negative, by applying a generalized version of the Minimum Principle.

Abstract:We study some qualitative properties of entire positive radial solutions of the supercritical semilinear biharmonic equation: (*) Delta(2)u = u(p) in R(n), n >= 5, p > n + 4/n - 4. It is known from a paper by Gazzola and Grunau that there is a critical value p(c) > (n + 4)/(n - 4) of (*) for n >= 13 and that (*) has a singular solution u(s)(r) = K(0)(1/(p-1))r(-4/(p-1)). We show that for 5 <= n <= 12 or n >= 13 and p < p(c), any regular positive radial entire solution u of (*) intersects with u(s)(r) infinitely many times. On the other hand, if n >= 13 and p >= p(c), then u(r) < u(s)(r) for all r > 0. Moreover, the solutions are strictly ordered with respect to the initial value a = u(0).

Abstract:Abstract This paper is concerned with the following nonlinear Hamiltonian elliptic system with gradient term − Δ u + b → ( x ) ⋅ ∇ u + V ( x ) u = H v ( x , u , v ) in R N , − Δ v − b → ( x ) ⋅ ∇ v + V ( x ) v = H u ( x , u , v ) in R N . $$\begin{array}{} \displaystyle \left\{\,\, \begin{array}{ll} -{\it\Delta} u +\vec{b}(x)\cdot \nabla u+V(x)u = H_{v}(x,u,v)\,\,\hbox{in}\,\mathbb{R}^{N},\\[-0.3em] -{\it\Delta} v -\vec{b}(x)\cdot \nabla v +V(x)v = H_{u}(x,u,v)\,\,\hbox{in}\,\mathbb{R}^{N}.\\ \end{array} \right. \end{array}$$ Compared with some existing issues, the most interesting feature of this paper is that we assume that the nonlinearity satisfies a local super-quadratic condition, which is weaker than the usual global super-quadratic condition. This case allows the nonlinearity to be super-quadratic on some domains and asymptotically quadratic on other domains. Furthermore, by using variational method, we obtain new existence results of ground state solutions and infinitely many geometrically distinct solutions under local super-quadratic condition. Since we are without more global information on the nonlinearity, in the proofs we apply a perturbation approach and some special techniques.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the homogeneous complex k-Hessian equation in $\Omega\backslash\{0\}$. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the $C^{1,\alpha}$ solution by constructing approximating solutions. The key point for us is to construct the subsolution for approximating problem and establish uniform gradient estimates and complex Hessian estimates which is independent of the approximation.

Abstract:We consider smooth radial solutions to the Hamiltonian stationary equation which are defined away from the origin. We show that in dimension two all radial solutions on unbounded domains must be special Lagrangian. In contrast, for all higher dimensions there exist non-special Lagrangian radial solutions over unbounded domains; moreover, near the origin, the gradient graph of such a solution is continuous if and only if the graph is special Lagrangian.

Abstract:Let be real parameters and let . We study radially symmetric solutions of where the dot means the usual scalar product in and denotes the -Hessian operator of . For and , we prove the existence of a unique solution to this problem. We also prove existence and properties like strict convexity of the solutions of the above equation for other ranges of the parameters and , which are valid for all . These results are then applied to construct different types of explicit solutions, in self-similar forms, of a related evolution equation. In particular, for the heat equation, we find a new family of self-similar solutions which blow up in finite time. These solutions are represented as power series, called Kummer function.

Abstract:We consider overdetermined problems for two classes of fully nonlinear equations with constant Dirichlet boundary conditions in a bounded domain in space forms. We prove that if the domain is star-shaped, then the solution to the Hessian quotient overdetermined problem is radially symmetric. By establishing a Rellich-Pohožaev type identity for the $k$-Hessian equation with constant Dirichlet boundary condition, we also show the radial symmetry of the solution to the $k$-Hessian overdetermined problem for some boundary value without star-shapedness assumption of the domain.
