Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of multiple solutions to the $L_{p}$-Minkowski problem. We prove if $p<-n$, then for any integer $N>0$, there exists a smooth positive function f on $\mathbb S^n$ such that the $L_{p}$-Minkowski problem admits at least N different smooth solutions. We also construct nonsmooth, positive function f for which the $L_{p}$-Minkowski problem has infinitely many $C^{1,1}$ solutions.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to studying the coupled system of multiparameter k -Hessian equations where B = { x ∈ R n : | x | < 1}, λ 1 , λ 2 are positive parameters, ρ i ( i = 1, 2) is singular near the boundary ∂B , f i ( i = 1, 2) satisfies a combined superlinear condition at ∞. Employing the fixed point theorem of Krasnosel'skii type in Banach space, the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial radial solutions are established. In particular, the dependence of the solutions on the parameters λ 1 , λ 2 is also discussed. Finally, we study the nonexistence results of nontrivial radial solutions for the case λ 1 , λ 2 ≫ 1.

Abstract:In this article, our main aim is to investigate the existence of radial k -convex solutions for the following Dirichlet system with k -Hessian operators: Here, u p 1 v q 1 is called a Lane-Emden type nonlinearity. The weight functions ν 1 , ν 2 ∈ C ( [ 0 , R ] , [ 0 , ∞ ) ) with ν 1 ( r ) > 0 < ν 2 ( r ) for all r ∈ ( 0 , R ] , p 1 , q 2 are nonnegative and q 1 , p 2 are positive exponents, B ( R ) = { x ∈ R N : ∣ x ∣ < R } , N ≥ 2 is an integer, N 2 ≤ k ≤ N . In order to achieve our main goal, we first study the existence of radial k -convex solutions of the above-mentioned systems with general nonlinear terms by using the upper and lower solution method and Leray-Schauder degree. Based on this, by constructing a continuous curve, which divides the first quadrant into two disjoint sets, we obtain the existence and multiplicity of radial k -convex solutions for the system depending on the parameters λ 1 , λ 2 and the continuous curve.

Abstract:This paper mainly deals with the following k -Hessian system with the nonlinear gradients where , , is the open unit ball in and is the k -Hessian operator of u . Some results about the existence of radial solutions are obtained by making some appropriate assumptions about -monotone matrices for . Based on the Jensen integral inequality and fixed point theorem, we have overcome the computational difficulties of k -Hessian system with gradients, and obtained the conclusion that the system has at least one radial solution and at least two radial solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the k-Hessian problem S k (D 2 u) = b(x)f(u) in Ω, u = +∞ on ∂Ω, where Ω is a C ∞ -smooth bounded strictly (k − 1)-convex domain in R N with N ≥ 2, b ∈ C ∞ (Ω) is positive in Ω and may be singular or vanish on ∂Ω, f ∈ C[0, ∞) ∩ C 1 (0, ∞) (or f ∈ C 1 ( R ) ) is a positive and increasing function. We establish the first expansions (equalities) of k-convex solutions to the above problem when f is borderline regularly varying and Γ-varying at infinity respectively. For the former, we reveal the exact influences of some indexes of f and principal curvatures of ∂Ω on the first expansion of solutions. For the latter, we find the principal curvatures of ∂Ω have no influences on the expansions. Our results and methods are quite different from the existing ones (including k = N). Moreover, we know the existence of k-convex solutions to the above problem (including k = N) is still an open problem when b possesses high singularity on ∂Ω and f satisfies Keller–Osserman type condition. For the radially symmetric case in the ball, we give a positive answer to this open problem, and then we further show the global estimates for all radial large solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the homogeneous complex k-Hessian equation in $\Omega\backslash\{0\}$. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the $C^{1,\alpha}$ solution by constructing approximating solutions. The key point for us is to construct the subsolution for approximating problem and establish uniform gradient estimates and complex Hessian estimates which is independent of the approximation.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a type of p-Kirchhoff equation $$ -\left( a+b\int_{\mathbb{R} ^3}{\left| \nabla u \right|^pdx} \right) \varDelta _pu=\lambda \left| u \right|^{p-2}u+\left| u \right|^{q-2}u, x \in \mathbb{R}^3 $$ with the prescribed mass $$ (\int_{\mathbb{R} ^3}{\left| u \right|^{p}dx})^\frac{1}{p} = c > 0 $$ where $a>0, b > 0,\frac{3}{2} <p <3, p < q < p^{\ast}:=\frac{3p}{3-p} $,$\varDelta _pu=div\left( \left| \nabla u \right|^{p-2}\nabla u \right)$ is the p-Laplacian of $u$, $\lambda \in \mathbb{R}$ is Lagrange multiplier. We consider both $L^p$-subcritical , $L^p$-critical and $L^p$-supercritical cases. Precisely, in the $L^p$-subcritical and $L^p$-critical cases, we obtain the existence and nonexistence of the normalized solutions for the p-Kirchhoff equation. In the $L^p$-supercritical case, we obtain the existence of radial ground sates and multiplicity of radial normalized solutions for the p-Kirchhoff equation. Furthermore, we study the asymptotic behavior of normalized solutions when $b \rightarrow 0^+$. Besides, when $\frac{3}{2} < p \leq 2$, benefit from the uniqueness(up to translations) of optimizer for Gargliardo-Nirenberg inequality, we show the existence and uniqueness of normalized solutions and provide the accurate descriptions.

Abstract:The work is an extensive study of the M-solutions (singular at r=0) which is one of the three different types of radial positive solutions of the general Matukuma equation 1rN−1(rN−1ϕ′)′=−rλ−2(1+r2)λ/2ϕp, p>1, λ>0, N>3. We apply an asymptotic expansion method which begins with rough estimate and improves the accuracy step by step to the desired extend. Comparing with the case when N=3 (see Batt and Li, 2010 [5]), such asymptotic expansions require more delicate study.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the multiplicity of positive radially symmetric solutions of the Dirichlet boundary value problem for the following two-dimensional quasilinear biharmonic equation Δ(|Δu|p−2Δu)=λg(x)f(u),x∈B1, where B1 is the unit ball in the plane. We apply the fixed point index theory and the upper and lower solutions method to investigate the multiplicity of positive radially symmetric solutions. We have found that there exists a threshold λ∗<+∞, such that if λ>λ∗, then the problem has no positive radially symmetric solution; while if 0<λ≤λ∗, then the problem admits at least one positive radially symmetric solution. Especially, there exist at least two positive radially symmetric solutions for 0<λ<λ∗.

Abstract:This work is focused on the study of the nonlinear elliptic higher order equation \begin{equation}\nonumber \left( -\Delta \right)^m u = S_k[-u] + \lambda f, \qquad x \in \mathbb{R}^N, \end{equation} where the $k-$Hessian $S_k[u]$ is the $k^{\mathrm{th}}$ elementary symmetric polynomial of eigenvalues of the Hessian matrix of the solution and the datum $f$ belongs to a suitable functional space. This problem is posed in $\mathbb{R}^N$ and we prove the existence of at least one solution by means of topological fixed point methods for suitable values of $m \in \mathbb{N}$. Questions related to the regularity of the solutions and extensions of these results to the nonlocal setting are also addressed. On the way to construct these proofs, some technical results such as a fixed point theorem and a refinement of the critical Sobolev embedding, which could be of independent interest, are introduced.

Abstract:Given $k$ pairs of complex numbers and vectors (closed under conjugation), we consider the inverse quadratic eigenvalue problem of constructing $n\times n$ real symmetric matrices $M$, $C$, and $K$ (with $M$ positive definite) so that the quadratic pencil $Q(\lambda)\equiv \lambda^2M+\lambda C+K$ has the given $k$ pairs as eigenpairs. Using various matrix decompositions, we first construct a general solution to this problem with $k\le n$. Then, with appropriate choices of degrees of freedom in the general solution, we construct several particular solutions with additional eigeninformation or special properties. Numerical results illustrating these solutions are also presented.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a kind of $k$-Hessian type equations $S_k^{\frac{1}{k}}(D^2u+\mu|D u|I)= f(u)$ in $\mathbb{R}^n$, and provide a necessary and sufficient condition of $f$ on the existence and nonexistence of entire admissible subsolutions, which can be regarded as a generalized Keller-Osserman condition. The existence and nonexistence results are proved in different ranges of the parameter $\mu$ respectively, which embrace the standard Hessian equation case ($\mu=0$) by Ji and Bao (Proc Amer Math Soc 138: 175--188, 2010) as a typical example. The difference between the semilinear case ($k=1$) and the fully nonlinear case ($k\ge 2$) is also concerned.
