In particular, we show that these theta lifts can be expressed as cohomologically induced representations in the weakly fair range. This extends a result of J.-S. Abstract:Let F be the usual real field. Let W be a symplectic vector space over F. It is known that there are two different Weil representations of a Meteplectic covering group $\widetilde{Sp}(W)$. By some twisted actions, we reorganize them into a representation of $\widetilde{Sp}^{\pm}(W)$, a covering group over a subgroup $Sp^{\pm}(W)$ of $GSp(W)$. Based on the works of MVW, Kudla, and Howe on reductive dual pairs in $Sp(W)$, we explore the analogous dual pairs in $Sp^{\pm}(W)$ . Finally, following Lion-Vergne's classical book on Weil representations and theta series, we investigate some simple theta series in $Sp^{\pm}(W)$ where $W$ has dimension two.

Abstract:Let $F$ be a real quadratic field in which a fixed prime $p$ is inert, and $E_0$ be an imaginary quadratic field in which $p$ splits; put $E=E_0 F$. Let ${\rm Sh}_{1,n-1}$ be the special fiber over $\mathbb{F}_{p^2}$ of the Shimura variety for $G(U(1,n-1)\times U(n-1,1))$ with hyperspecial level structure at $p$ for some integer $n\geq 2$. Let ${\rm Sh}_{1,n-1}(K_{\mathfrak{p}}^{1})$ be the special fiber over $\mathbb{F}_{p^2}$ of a Shimura variety for $G(U(1,n-1)\times U(n-1,1))$ with parahoric level structure at $p$ for some integer $n\geq 2$. We exhibit elements in the higher Chow group of the supersingular locus of ${\rm Sh}_{1,n-1}$ and study the stratification of ${\rm Sh}_{1,n-1}.$ Moreover, we study the geometry of ${\rm Sh}_{1,n-1}(K_{\mathfrak{p}}^{1})$ and prove a form of Ihara lemma. With Ihara lemma, we prove the the arithmetic level raising map is surjective for $n=2.$

Abstract:Let F be a local field. In the case of F being the real field, Pierre Cartier constructed Heisenberg-Weil representations of a Heisenberg group in families using non-self-dual lattices. This result was later reformulated by Jae-Hyun Yang in another paper. We extend this family of representations to a representation of a Jacobi subgroup by incorporating a rational Metaplectic group. In the case of F being a non-archimedean local field of odd residual characteristic or a finite unramified extension of the field of 2-adic numbers, we obtain similar results for a Jacobi group by incorporating a Metaplectic group.

Abstract:The Shimura lift of a Hekce eigenform multiplied by a theta series is the square of the form. We extend this result by generalizing the product to the Rankin-Cohen brackets. We prove that the Shimura lift of the Rankin-Cohen bracket of an eigenform and a theta series is given by the Rankin-Cohen bracket of the eigenform and itself.

Abstract:We state and prove a formula for the Whittaker-Shintani functions associated to Fourier-Jacobi models for p-adic unitary groups and general linear groups. These generalized spherical functions play a fundamental role in the proof of the Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture for Fourier-Jacobi models. As an application we prove the unramified Ichino-Ikeda conjecture.

Abstract:Let $F$ be a $p$-adic field. For certain non-abelian nilpotent algebraic groups $U$ over $\bar{\mathbb{Z}}_p$ equipped with $\operatorname{Gal}_F$-action, we study the associated {\it Heisenberg varieties} which model the non-abelian cohomology set ``$H^1(\operatorname{Gal}_F, U)$''. The construction of Heisenberg varieties involves the Herr complexes including their cup product structure. Write $U_n$ for a quasi-split unitary group and assume $p\ne 2$. We classify mod $p$ Langlands parameters for $U_n$ (quasi-split), $\operatorname{SO}_{2n+1}$, $\operatorname{SO}_{2n}$, $\operatorname{Sp}_{2n}$, $\operatorname{GSpin}_{2m}$ and $\operatorname{GSpin}_{2m+1}$ (split) over $F$, and show they are successive Heisenberg-type extensions of elliptic Langlands parameters. We employ the Heisenberg variety to study the obstructions for lifting a non-abelian cocycle along the map $H^1(\operatorname{Gal}_F, U(\bar{\mathbb{Z}}_p))\to H^1(\operatorname{Gal}_F, U(\bar{\mathbb{F}}_p))$. We present a precise theorem that reduces the task of finding de Rham lifts of mod $p$ Langlands parameters for unitary, symplectic, orthogonal, and spin similitude groups to the dimension analysis of specific closed substacks of the reduced Emerton-Gee stacks for the corresponding group. Finally, we carry out the dimension analysis for the unitary Emerton-Gee stacks using the geometry of Grassmannian varieties. The paper culminates in the proof of the existence of potentially crystalline lifts of regular Hodge type for all mod $p$ Langlands parameters for $p$-adic (possibly ramified) unitary groups $U_n$. It is the first general existence of de Rham lifts result for non-split (ramified) groups, and provides evidence for the topological Breuil-Mézard conjecture for more general groups.

Abstract:Shintani's famous invariants conjecturally generate abelian extensions of real quadratic number fields and thus give a conjectural solution to Hilbert's 12th problem. In the present note, we find new expressions for Shintani's invariants by generalising an observation due to Yamamoto who showed that Shintani's invariants, originally expressed in terms of the double sine function, can be written in terms of the q-Pochhammer (or q-Exponential) function.

Abstract:The Miyawaki liftings are defined by the pullbacks of Ikeda liftings. Recently, Ikeda and Yamana extended the theory of Ikeda liftings. In this paper, using their results, we establish a theory of Miyawaki liftings, both locally and globally. In the local theory, we describe the Miyawaki liftings for almost tempered unitary representations explicitly. In the global theory, we discuss the non-vanishing of the Miyawaki liftings using seesaw identities and the global Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture. As an application of local Miyawaki liftings, we prove a new case of the local Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture.

On tori periods of Weil representations of unitary groups

Abstract:We determine the restriction of Weil representations of unitary groups to maximal tori. In the local case, we show that the Weil representation contains a pair of compatible characters if and only if a root number condition holds. In the global case, we show that a tori period corresponding to a maximal anisotropic torus of the global theta lift of a character does not vanish if and only if the local condition is satisfied everywhere and a central value of an $L$-function does not vanish. Our proof makes use of the seesaw argument and of the well-known theta lifting results from $\operatorname{U}\left(1\right)$ to $\operatorname{U}\left(1\right)$. Our results are used in other papers to construct Arthur packets for $G_2$.

Abstract:The Shimura correspondence is a fundamental tool in the study of half-integral weight modular forms. In this paper, we prove a Shimura-type correspondence for spaces of half-integral weight cusp forms which transform with a power of the Dedekind eta multiplier twisted by a Dirichlet character. We prove that the lift of a cusp form of weight $\lambda+1/2$ and level $N$ has weight $2\lambda$ and level $6N$, and is new at the primes $2$ and $3$ with specified Atkin-Lehner eigenvalues. This precise information leads to arithmetic applications. For a wide family of spaces of half-integral weight modular forms we prove the existence of infinitely many primes $\ell$ which give rise to quadratic congruences modulo arbitrary powers of $\ell$.

Abstract:We establish duality theory of p-adic unitary Banach representations of locally profinite groups. This is an extension of Iwasawa theory for profinite groups by P. Schneider and J. Teitelbaum. We also establish a criterion for an irreducibility of a unitary representation by certain simpleness of the Iwasawa module dual to it. Through the duality, the continuous induction of a unitary Banach representation of a closed subgroup is interpreted as a certain induction of Iwasawa module. It gives an explicit description of the dual of a continuous parabolic induction on GL_n(Q_p).

On vector valued automorphic forms for the Weil representation

Abstract:We develop a theory of vector valued automorphic forms associated to the Weil representation $\omega_f$ and corresponding to vector valued modular forms transforming with the ``finite'' Weil representation $\rho_L$. For each prime $p$ we determine the structure of a vector valued spherical Hecke algebra depending on $\omega_f$, which acts on the space of automorphic forms.

Abstract:It is known that the etale cohomology of a potentially good abelian variety over a local field K is determined by its Euler factors over the extensions of K. We extend this to all abelian varieties, show that it is enough to take extensions where A is semistable, and give a uniform version over p-adic fields where the extensions are the same for all abelian varieties of a given dimension. The results are explicit, and apply to a wide class of Weil-Deligne representations.
