Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study complete $\lambda$-surfaces in Euclidean space $\mathbb R^3$. A complete classification for 2-dimensional complete $\lambda$-surfaces in Euclidean space $\mathbb R^3$ with constant squared norm of the second fundamental form is given.

Abstract:An n-dimensional lambda-hypersurface X : M -> Rn+1 is the critical point of the weighted area functional integral(M) e(-1/4|X|2) d mu for weighted volume-preserving variations, which is also a generalization of the self-shrinking solution of the mean curvature flow. We first prove that if the L-n-norm of the second fundamental form of the lambda-hypersurface X : M -> Rn+1 with n >= 3 is less than an explicit positive constant K(n, lambda), then M is a hyperplane. Secondly, we show that if the L-n-norm of the trace-free second fundamental form of M with n >= 3 is less than an explicit positive constant D(n, lambda) and the mean curvature is suitably bounded, then M is a hyperplane. We also obtain similar results for lambda-surfaces in R-3 under L-4-curvature pinching conditions.

Abstract:We study the problem of finding complete conformal metrics determined by some symmetric function of the modified Schouten tensor on compact manifolds with boundary; which reduces to a Dirichlet problem. We prove the existence of the solution under some suitable conditions. In particular, we prove that every smooth compact n-dimensional manifold with boundary, with n >= 3, admits a complete Riemannian metric g whose Ricci curvature Ric(g) and scalar curvature R-g satisfydet(Ric(g) - R(g)g) = const.This result generalizes Aviles and McOwen's in the scalar curvature case.
Quasisymmetric Geometry of the Julia Sets of McMullen Maps

Abstract:We study the quasisymmetric geometry of the Julia sets of McMullen maps fλ(z) = zm + λ/zℓ, where λ ∈ ℂ {0} and ℓ and m are positive integers satisfying 1/ℓ+1/m < 1. If the free critical points of fλ are escaped to the infinity, we prove that the Julia set Jλ of fλ is quasisymmetrically equivalent to either a standard Cantor set, a standard Cantor set of circles or a round Sierpiński carpet (which is also standard in some sense). If the free critical points are not escaped, we give a suffcient condition on λ such that Jλ is a Sierpiński carpet and prove that most of them are quasisymmetrically equivalent to some round carpets. In particular, there exist infinitely renormalizable rational maps whose Julia sets are quasisymmetrically equivalent to the round carpets.

Abstract:An immersed hypersurface in the Euclidean space Rn+1 satisfying the equation H =-XN + λ is called a λ-hypersurface.In this paper,we investigate the second pinching problem for λ-hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space.Let M be an n-dimensional complete λ-hypersurface in Rn+1 with polynomial volume growth.Denote by A the second fundamental form of M.We verify that there exists a positive absolute constant γsuch that if |λ| ≤ γ,βλ ≤ |A|2 ≤βλ +1/21,whereβλ 1/2 (2 + λ2 + |λ|√λ2+ 4),then |A|2 =βλ,λ ≥ 0,and M is either the sphere Sn (√n),the cylinder Sk (√k) × Rn-k,1 ≤ k ≤ n-1,or the cylinder S(λ2+4-|λ|) Rn-1.

Abstract:Let M be an n-dimensional closed hypersurface with constant mean curvature and constant scalar curvature in a unit sphere. Denote by H and S the mean curvature and the squared length of the second fundamental form. We prove that if a(n, H) <= S <= alpha( n, H)+ CnH2, where n >= 4 and H not equal 0, then S = alpha( n, H) and M is a Clifford torus Sn-1(r(1)) x S-1(r(2)). Here alpha(n, H) = n + n(3)/2(n -1) H-2 - n(n - 2)/2(n - 1) root n(2)H(4) + 4(n - 1) H-2, and C-n is a positive constant explicitly depending on n. The emphasis is that our gap theorem imposes no restriction on the range of mean curvature. Moreover, we obtain gap theorems for complete hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature and constant scalar curvature in space forms.

Abstract:By using curvature estimates, we prove that a complete non-compact hypersurface M with constant mean curvature and finiteL n -norm curvature in R n+1 must be minimal, so that M is a hyperplane if it is strongly stable. This is a generalization of the result on stable complete minimal hypersurfaces of R n+1. Moreover, complete strongly stable hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature and finite L 1-norm curvature in R n+1 are considered.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the complete bounded $\lambda$-hypersurfaces in weighted volume-preserving mean curvature flow. Firstly, we investigate the volume comparison theorem of complete bounded $\lambda$-hypersurfaces with $|A|\leq\alpha$ and get some applications of the volume comparison theorem. Secondly, we consider the relation among $\lambda$, extrinsic radius $k$, intrinsic diameter $d$, and dimension $n$ of the complete $\lambda$-hypersurface, and we obtain some estimates for the intrinsic diameter and the extrinsic radius. At last, we get some topological properties of the bounded $\lambda$-hypersurface with some natural and general restrictions.

Abstract:In the paper, we construct, for $\lambda>0$, complete embedded and non-convex $\lambda$-hypersurfaces, which are diffeomorphic to a cylinder. Hence, one can not expect that $\lambda$-hypersurfaces share a common conclusion on the planar domain conjecture even if the planar domain conjecture of T. Ilmanen for self-shrinkers of mean curvature flow are solved by Brendle \cite{B} affirmatively. Furthermore, for a fixed $\lambda<0$ which may have small $|\lambda|$, we can construct two compact embedded $\lambda$-hypersurfaces which are diffeomorphic to $\mathbb{S}^{1}\times \mathbb{S}^{n-1}$, but they are not isometric to each other.

Complete $λ$-submanifolds in Gauss spaces

Abstract:In this paper, we study $\lambda$-submanifolds of arbitrary codimensions in Gauss spaces. These submanifolds can be seen as natural generalizations of self-shrinker and $\lambda$-hypersurfaces. Using a divergence type theorem and some Simons' type identities, we prove some halfspace type theorems and gap theorems for complete proper $\lambda$-submanifolds. These generalized our as well as the others' results for self-shrinker or $\lambda$-hypersurfaces to $\lambda$-submanifolds.

Abstract:In the study of immersed surfaces of constant positive extrinsic curvature in space‐forms, it is natural to substitute completeness for a weaker property, which we here call quasicompleteness. We determine the global geometry of such surfaces under the hypotheses of quasicompleteness. In particular, we show that, for k>Max(0,−c) , the only quasicomplete immersed surfaces of constant extrinsic curvature equal to k in the 3‐dimensional space‐form of constant sectional curvature equal to c are the geodesic spheres. Together with earlier work of the author, this completes the classification of quasicomplete immersed surfaces of constant positive extrinsic curvature in 3‐dimensional space‐forms.

Abstract:We study finite total curvature solutions of the Liouville equation $\Delta u+e^{2u}=0$ on a complete surface $(M,g)$ with nonnegative Gauss curvature. It turns out that the asymptotic behavior of the solution separates two extremal cases: on the one end, if the solution decays not too fast, then $(M,g)$ must be isometric to the standard Euclidean plane; on the other end, if $(M,g)$ is isometric to the flat cylinder $\mathbb{S}^1\times \mathbb{R}$, then solutions must decay linearly and are completely classified.

Abstract:In this paper, we study \lambda-biharmonic hypersurfaces in the product space L^{m}\times\mathbb{R}, where L^{m} is an Einstein space and \mathbb{R} is a real line. We prove that \lambda-biharmonic hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature in L^{m}\times\mathbb{R} are either minimal or vertical cylinders, and obtain some classification results for \lambda$-biharmonic hypersurfaces under various constraints. Furthermore, we investigate \lambda-biharmonic hypersurfaces in the product space L^{m}(c)\times\mathbb{R}, where L^{m}(c) is a space form with constant sectional curvature c, and categorize hypersurfaces that are either totally umbilical or semi-parallel.

Abstract:A number of results for C$^2$-smooth surfaces of constant width in Euclidean 3-space ${\mathbb{E}}^3$ are obtained. In particular, an integral inequality for constant width surfaces is established. This is used to prove that the ratio of volume to cubed width of a constant width surface is reduced by shrinking it along its normal lines. We also give a characterization of surfaces of constant width that have rational support function. Our techniques, which are complex differential geometric in nature, allow us to construct explicit smooth surfaces of constant width in ${\mathbb{E}}^3$, and their focal sets. They also allow for easy construction of tetrahedrally symmetric surfaces of constant width.

Abstract:In this paper, we study $n$-dimensional complete minimal hypersurfaces in a hyperbolic space $H^{n+1}(-1)$ of constant curvature $-1$. We prove that a $3$-dimensional complete minimal hypersurface with constant scalar curvature in $H^{4}(-1)$ satisfies $S\leq \frac{21}{29}$ by making use of the Generalized Maximum Principle, where $S$ denotes the squared norm of the second fundamental form of the hypersurface.

Abstract:Let ℚ3 be the common conformal compactification space of the Lorentzian space forms $\mathbb{R}^{3}_{1} ,\mathbb{S}^{3}_{1} \;{\text{and}}\;\mathbb{H}^{3}_{1} $. We study the conformal geometry of space-like surfaces in ℚ3. It is shown that any conformal CMC-surface in ℚ3 must be conformally equivalent to a constant mean curvature surface in $\mathbb{R}^{3}_{1} ,\mathbb{S}^{3}_{1} \;{\text{and}}\;\mathbb{H}^{3}_{1} $. We also show that if x : M → ℚ3 is a space-like Willmore surface whose conformal metric g has constant curvature K, then either K = −1 and x is conformally equivalent to a minimal surface in $\mathbb{R}^{3}_{1}$, or K = 0 and x is conformally equivalent to the surface $\mathbb{H}^{1} {\left( {\frac{1}{{{\sqrt 2 }}}} \right)} \times \mathbb{H}^{1} {\left( {\frac{1}{{{\sqrt 2 }}}} \right)}\;{\text{in}}\;\mathbb{H}^{3}_{1} .$
