Abstract:We prove that the category of topological spaces and open maps does not have binary products, thus resolving the Esakia problem in the negative. We also prove that the categories of complete Heyting algebras and complete closure algebras do not have binary coproducts.

Abstract:In this paper,we discuss some properties of biscott topology.Then we prove that the category BICONT(i.e.the category whose objects are bicontinuous lattices and whose morphisms are biscott continuous maps),as the intersectional category of two Cartesian closed categories BICONT_S(i.e.the category whose objects are bicontinuous lattices and whose morphisms are scott continuous maps) and BICONT_(S~(op))(i.e.the category whose objects are bicontinuous lattices and whose morphisms are dual scott continuous maps) is not a Cartesian closed category.

Abstract:We prove that every neighborhood assignment for a monotonically normal space has a kernel which is homeomorphic to some subspace of an ordinal. As a corollary, every monotone neighborhood assignment for a monotonically normal space has a discrete kernel, which gives a partial answer to a question posed in Buzyakova et al. (2007) [5]. We also give an example of a regular space which has a neighborhood assignment with no kernels homeomorphic to any subspace of an ordinal.
On punctured locally compact spaces

Abstract:In a recent paper \cite{T} the fact that a class of locally compact metric spaces $X$, among which are Euclidean spaces, are not homemorphic to their punctured version $X\men\{p\}$, was given an interesting new proof which does not use algebraic topology; essential tools of this proof are a boundedly compact metric structure, and path--connectedness near infinity. Here we show that local compactness and ordinary connectedness near infinity suffice; no metrizability is needed, and moreover we can also delete whole compact subsets, not only single points. Some non--homeomorphism results on many--holed Euclidean balls are also obtained. This note ought to distil the essence of the method developed in \cite{T}.

Abstract:This paper shows that in general, difference fields do not have a difference closure. However, we introduce a stronger notion of closure (kappa-closure), and show that every algebraically closed difference field K of characteristic 0, with fixed field satisfying a certain natural condition, has a closure, and this closure is unique up to isomorphism over K.

Abstract:In his thesis, Cazanave proved that the set of naive $\mathbb{A}^1$-homotopy classes of endomorphisms of the projective line admits a monoid structure whose group completion is genuine $\mathbb{A}^1$-homotopy classes of endomorphisms of the projective line. In this very short note we show that such a statement is never true for punctured affine space $\mathbb{A}^n\setminus\{0\}$ for $n \ge 2$ .

Abstract:We delve into the concept of categories with products that distribute over coproducts, which we call doubly-infinitary distributive categories. We show various instances of doubly-infinitary distributive categories aiming for a comparative analysis with established notions such as extensivity, infinitary distributiveness, and cartesian closedness. Our exploration reveals that this condition represents a substantial extension beyond the classical understanding of infinitary distributive categories. Our main theorem establishes that free doubly-infinitary distributive categories are cartesian closed. We end the paper with remarks on non-canonical isomorphisms, open questions, and future work.

Abstract:We discuss topological versions of the closed graph theorem, where continuity is inferred from near continuity in tandem with suitable conditions on source or target spaces. Abstract:In this work, we generalize the results obtained in (J. Geom. Anal., 32(6):Paper No.173, 32, 2022), presenting some examples of $CD(0,N)$ spaces having different dimensions in different regions, deducing in particular that the topological splitting may fail in $CD(0,N)$ spaces. We also observe that any reasonable non-branching condition may fail in $CD(0,N)$ spaces and that the existence of an optimal transport map, between two absolutely continuous marginals, is not guaranteed by the $CD(0,N)$ condition, without requiring a non-branching assumption. Moreover, we show that the strict $CD(0,N)$ condition is strictly stronger than the classical $CD(0,N)$ one and it is not stable with respect to the measured Gromov-Hausdorff convergence.

This article gives a class of handy examples of a second countable collectionwise normal collectionwise Hausdorff T 0 space of uncountable cardinal, with at most countably many singletons being not closed, that is not a D -space. Abstract:Cartan's uniqueness theorem does not hold in general for CR mappings, but it does hold under certain conditions guaranteeing extendibility of CR functions to a fixed neighborhood. These conditions can be defined naturally for a wide class of sets such as local real-analytic subvarieties or subanalytic sets, not just submanifolds. Suppose that $V$ is a locally connected and locally closed subset of ${\mathbb{C}}^n$ such that the hull constructed by contracting analytic discs close to arbitrarily small neighborhoods of a point always contains the point in the interior. Then restrictions of holomorphic functions uniquely extend to a fixed neighborhood of the point. Using this extension, we obtain a version of Cartan's uniqueness theorem for such sets. When $V$ is a real-analytic subvariety, we can generalize the concept of infinitesimal CR automorphism and also prove an analogue of the theorem. As an application of these two results we show that, for circular subvarieties, the only automorphisms, CR or infinitesimal, are linear. Abstract:We consider the relationship between normality and semi-proximality. We give a consistent example of a first countable locally compact Dowker space that is not semi-proximal, and two ZFC examples of semi-proximal non-normal spaces. This answers a question of Nyikos. One of the examples is a subspace of $(\omega+1) \times \omega_1$. In contrast, we show that every normal subspace of a finite power of $\omega_1$ is semi-proximal.

Abstract:We study a variant of extremal disconnectedness in frames, defined by requiring that any two disjoint open sublocales should be separable by disjoint open sublocales each of which is the interior of some zero-sublocale. In spaces, this notion was recently introduced in [1] in order to study some properties of frames of z -ideals of rings of continuous functions. The point-free approach adopted here brings to the fore some topological results not considered in [1], such as that a dense z -embedded subspace of a Tychonoff space has this property if and only if the space containing it has the property. In [1], this was proved only for the embedding X ⊆ βX . We give a ring-theoretic characterization by defining a property of f -rings in a transparent manner which shows why the property should be defined the way we do. The property is that if two annihilator ideals meet trivially, then the annihilator of each of the annihilator ideals contains a positive element such that the sum of the two elements is a non-zerodivisor.
