Abstract:Following Escobar [Esc97] and Jammes [Jam15], we introduce two types of isoperimetric constants and give lower bound estimates for the first nontrivial eigenvalues of Dirichlet-to-Neumann operators on finite graphs with boundary respectively.

Abstract:By using Bochner technique and gradient estimate, we give the lower bound estimates of the first eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian on Finsler manifolds. These results generalize the corresponding famous theorems in the Riemannian geometry.

Abstract:In this paper, we first introduce higher order Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps on graphs which can be viewed as a discrete analogue of the corresponding Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps on compact Riemannian manifolds with boundary and a higher order generalization of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map on graphs introduced by Hua-Huang-Wang\cite{HHW} and Hassannezhad-Miclo \cite{HM}. Then, some Raulot-Savo-type estimates on the eigenvalues of the DtN maps introduced are derived.

Abstract:We prove that for a compact Finsler manifold M with nonnegative weighted Ricci curvature,if its first closed(resp.Neumann)eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian attains the sharp lower bound,then M is isometric to a circle(resp.a segment).Moreover,a lower bound of the first eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian with Dirichlet boundary condition is also estimated.These generalize the corresponding results in recent literature.

For an infinite graph, we prove Cheeger-type estimates for the bottom spectrum of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator, and the higher order Cheeger estimates for higher order eigenvalues of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator.

Abstract:We prove Li-Yau-Kröger-type bounds for Neumann-type eigenvalues of the biharmonic operator on bounded domains in a Euclidean space. We also prove sharp estimates for lower order eigenvalues of a biharmonic Steklov problem and of the Laplacian, which directly implies two sharp Reilly-type inequalities for the corresponding first nonzero eigenvalue.

For a lattice graph, we prove the upper and lower estimates for the sum of the first $k$ Dirichlet eigenvalues of the fractional Laplacian, extending the classical results by Li-Yau and Kröger.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain some comparisons of the Dirichlet, Neumann and Laplacian eigenvalues on graphs. We also discuss their rigidities and some of their applications including some Lichnerowicz-type, Fiedler-type and Friedman-type estimates for Dirichlet eigenvalues and Neumann eigenvalues. The comparisons on Neumann eigenvalues can be translated to comparisons on Steklov eigenvalues in our setting. So, some of the results can be viewed as extensions for parts of the works of \cite{HHW} by Hua-Huang-Wang, and parts of our previous works \cite{SY,SY2}.

Abstract:We study the limit of first eigenfunctions of (discrete) p-Laplacian on a finite subset of a graph with Dirichlet boundary condition, as p -> 1. We prove that up to a subsequence, they converge to a summation of characteristic functions of Cheeger cuts of the graph. We give an example to show that the limit may not be a characteristic function of a single Cheeger cut.

Abstract:We prove two bounds for the first Robin eigenvalue of the Finsler Laplacian with negative boundary parameter in the planar case. In the constant area problem, we show that the Wulff shape is a maximizer only for values of the boundary parameter, which are close to zero. In the fixed perimeter case, we prove that the Wulff shape is a maximizer of the first eigenvalue for all values of the boundary parameter.

Abstract:In this paper, by mainly using the rearrangement technique and suitably constructing trial functions, under the constraint of fixed weighted volume, we can successfully obtain several isoperimetric inequalities for the first and the second Dirichlet eigenvalues, the first nonzero Neumann eigenvalue of the Witten-Laplacian on bounded domains in space forms. These spectral isoperimetric inequalities extend those classical ones (i.e. the Faber-Krahn inequality, the Hong-Krahn-Szegő inequality and the Szegő-Weinberger inequality) of the Laplacian.

Abstract:We re-visit the eigenvalue estimate of the Dirac operator on spin manifolds with boundary in terms of the first eigenvalues of conformal Laplace operator as well as the conformal mean curvature operator. These problems were studied earlier by Hijazi–Montiel–Zhang and Raulot and we re-prove them under weaker assumption that a boundary chirality operator exists. Moreover, on these spin manifolds with boundary, we show that any $C^{3,\alpha }$ conformal compactification of some Poincare–Einstein metric must be the standard hemisphere when the first nonzero eigenvalue of the Dirac operator achieves its lowest value, and any $C^{3,\alpha }$ conformal compactification of some Poincare–Einstein metric must be the flat ball in Euclidean space when the first positive eigenvalue of the boundary Dirac operator achieves certain value relating to the second Yamabe invariant. In two cases the Poincare–Einstein metrics are standard hyperbolic metric.

Abstract:Abstract.We find some optimal estimates for the first eigenfunction of a class of elliptic equations whose prototype is $$ - {\left( {\gamma u_{{x_{i} }} } \right)}_{{x_{i} }} = \lambda \gamma u\,{\text{in}}\,\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^{n} $$ with Dirichlet boundary condition, where γ is the normalized Gaussian function in $$ \mathbb{R}^{n} $$. To this aim we make use of the Gaussian symmetrization which transforms a domain into an half-space with the same Gaussian measure. The main tools we use are the properties of the weighted rearrangements and in particular the isoperimetric inequality with respect to Gaussian measure.

Abstract:In this work, we obtain estimates for the upper bound of gaps between consecutive eigenvalues for the eigenvalue problem of a class of second-order elliptic differential operators in divergent form, with Dirichlet boundary conditions, in a limited domain of n-dimensional Euclidean space. This class of operators includes the well-known Laplacian and the square Cheng-Yau operator. For the Laplacian case, our estimate coincides with that obtained by D. Chen, T. Zheng, and H. Yang, which is the best possible in terms of the order of the eigenvalues. For pinched Cartan-Hadamard manifolds the estimates were made in particular cases of this operator.

Abstract:In this paper, we study eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of p-Laplacians with Dirichlet boundary condition on graphs. We characterize the first eigenfunction (and the maximum eigenfunction for a bipartite graph) via the sign condition. By the uniqueness of the first eigenfunction of p-Laplacian, as p→1, we identify the Cheeger constant of a symmetric graph with that of the quotient graph. By this approach, we calculate various Cheeger constants of spherically symmetric graphs.

Abstract:We obtain estimates of Neumann eigenvalues of the divergence form elliptic operators in Sobolev extension domains. The suggested approach is based on connections between divergence form elliptic operators and quasiconformal mappings. The connection between Neumann eigenvalues of elliptic operators and the smallest-circle problem (initially suggested by J. J. Sylvester in 1857) is given.
