Abstract:Those poets relegated to southern China in the Mid-Tang Dynasty all showed a Qu Yuan complex in their poems.For example,under the influence of Qu Yuan's poems,such as LI SAO and JIU GE,Liu Yuxi and Liu Zongyuan expressed primarily a spirit of complaint and fury while the more rational Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi both accepted Qu Yuan's character of loyalty and uprightness but refused to follow his will of consistence.In contrast,Han Yu and Li Shen expressed their complaint about innocent mistreatment by comparing their experience to Qu Yuan's miserable treatment.The Qu Yuan complex of the poets relegated in the Early and Prosperous Tang Dynasty was the very source of that of the relegated poets in the Mid-Tang Dynasty.In general,the former was rational while the latter was sentimental but more tragic than the former.

Abstract:In the period of Five Dynasties,the description of Lingnan experienced a lot of changes,which was precisely reflected in the new Ci-poetry.Many outstanding works praising the beautiful southern scenery were produced in that period,represented by Nan Xiang Zi of Li Xun.The Lingnan scenery in Li Xun's works was beautiful and amiable,and the Lingnan women were pure and moving.Moreover,the language of these works was natural,and the tone was bright,and the style of Hua Jian Ji was unique.There were several reasons why Li Xun was able to find the beauty of Lingnan and got rid of the bias emerging since ancient times.Firstly,as a Persian,Li Xun did not share the concept that the Central Plains was the orthodox and might not concern about the differences among various Chinese tribes.Secondly,Li Xun traveled to Lingnan with a free identity at leisure and in peace,so his view of the Lingnan scenery was objective,and he could objectively observe the beautiful scenery and the simple customs.Thirdly,Li Xun had a good knowledge of the Lingnan herbs,so he could deal with so many local images in his works.

Abstract:This article deals with ci written by the outstanding Chinese poetess of the Song dynasty Li Qingzhao (李清照, 1084–1155?) and her poetic style Yi’an ti (易安體). The empirical material for this research is the extant 60 ci of Li Qingzhao which are presented in one of the most famous collections compiled by Xu Peijun (徐培均). Having analyzed these ci I have found several correlations concerning her poetic style. Firstly, in Li Qingzhao’s poetry ci form is positively related to ci rank: the longer ci, the higher its chance of being perceived as an “outstanding” one by commentators and poets. Secondly, the way of expressing emotions is one of the main elements that make Li Qingzhao’s long ci (zhongdiao 中調 and changdiao 長調) to be perceived as the “outstanding” ones by commentators and poets and her short ci (xiaoling 小令) as nothing very distinctive. Thirdly, negatively marked emotions are dominant in Li Qingzhao’s ci, but in most cases the poetess did not mention the reason of the sorrow of the lyrical persona or the persona this emotion was connected with. Forthly, there is a strong correlation between ci form, ci rank and types of floral images in her poetry.

Abstract:Imagery is a familiar aesthetic and admirable object observed by Chinese scholars in both ancient and modern times. As one of the important elements of traditional poetic beauty, imagery analysis has drawn extensive attention in the recent years. By drawing on the findings of the predecessors, collecting and processing lots of existing materials, the author has traced the “Cangwu” imagery back to its ancient source to analyze its developing process and influencing factors, which involves the geographic name of “Cangwu” , the correlative myths and legends, the formation mechanism of “Cangwu” imagery, including its marriage with “Xiaoxiang” theme, its coupling with “Chinese parasol” imagery and its combining with “Cloud” imagery along with its inherently bewildering, sad mood and so on, so as to conjure up the whole thing through observing a part of it.

Abstract:Various competing view points of poetry came into being since the mid-Ming Dynasty.The filed of poetry become very active.Numerous schools of poetry can be classified into three major schools according to their locations: Qi,Chu and Wu.The school of Qi is characterized with masculine sublimity and learned urbanity,which played a leading role for some time but later turned out to be artificial poems.The school of Chu are ethereal,spiritual and peculiar,which brought a fresh air to the field of poetry,however,withered soon for being accused as voice of a dying nation.As to the marginal school of Wu,it adhered to it living principle of being tender and sensitive,although under the dual pressure of the two big schools of Qi and Chu.The competition and tolerance among these three schools made the field of poetry lovely and animated in late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.This amazing spectacle lasted until the rising of the school of "Shen Yun" advocated by the literary leader Wang Shizhen in the middle period under the reign of Emperor Kangxi in Qing Dynasty.

Abstract:Su Zhe reposed in the prefecture Yingchang (颍昌府) for twelve years in his old age, and composed more than 370 poetry, which formed the most important part of poetic history in the late Northern Song dynasty dominated by Emperor Huizong (徽宗朝), and opened a subtle poetic world of “rationalism” for Song poetry.Their characteristics were popularization and familiarization with the description of daily life and the records of annals, dates, political affairs and even weather included in his poetical works. As to their artistic origin, apart from imitating the style of Bai Gong(白公), the influence of Tao Yuanming (陶渊明), Liu Yuxi (刘禹锡) and someone others could be seen in them, but their roots lay in Annals of Spring and Autumn and Grief in Leaving the Homeland.

Abstract:Nowadays many scholars think the allusions in Xie Lingyun's poetry are too dense and they are definitely shortcomings.But in investigating criticism about Xie's allusion from Southern dynasties until Tang,only positive commentaries exist.There are still more praise than dispraise as with allusion in Xie Lingyun's poetry until Ming and Qing Dynasties.The divergences in dealing with allusion among ancient and modern criticism may due to the different criteria of poetry allusion at different times.Objectively observe and study,we will find out that there are not only far more less quantity of allusions in Xie's works,furthermore,the characteristic of Xie's flexible uses of allusions make them difficult to be recognized.
