Abstract:Xu Xuemo, a poet in the Jiawan Period of the Ming Dynasty, paid three visits to Mount Wudang in ten years and wrote a good amount of poetry on the Wudang mountains. The study of Xu and his poetry is of great help to the study of Wudang Taoist culture and the relationship between literary writers of the Ming Dynasty and Wudang Taoism.

Abstract:Recently unearthed documents have opened new opportunities for research into the poetry of the Tang Dynasty. The newly discovered documents offer the potential for extensive research into the poets during this dynasty,such as Cui Hao' s appointed official position,Han Yu' s friends,and the position of Miao Fa within his family. Wrong information from the poets' biographies,as described in the official history books,can be corrected with this new information. With the discovery of these documents,research into the poetry of the Tang Dynasty can be expanded.

Abstract:In the mid- to late-Ming Dynasty, two regional cultures competed with each other for the leadership in poetic circles: one was the Qi culture with fourteen famous poets as its representatives ( known as the former and later “Seven Masters”);the other was the Chu culture with the poets from the Gong’an School and Jingling School as its major supporters. However, the Wu culture, though comparatively weak, also occupied a pivotal position in that period. Though affiliated with the camp of the former “Seven Masters”, Xu Zhenqing, a poet from the central Wu region, maintained the fea-tures of Wu culture in his works. The same is true with Wang Shizhen from Taicang area, though he was the leader of the later“Seven Masters”. Qian Qianyi, the editor of Lie-chao shi-ji列朝诗集( An-thology of the Poetry in the Past) , tried to protect the Wu culture when compiling this great work. The various competitions and endeavors in that period indicate that the poetic creation and study were in a sustained interaction with the regional cultures.

Abstract:There is a poem named by Xijiangyue by obscure man in a mural tomb of Yuan dynasty,when is Zhida second year.The poem have great value,and offer a new important data for researching the author,develop,spread of the famous dramatic Autumn thoughts of Tianjingsha and so on.Some people have do some helpful research and some important achievement on its author.According to the new date,this paper think that the author of Autumn thoughts of Tianjingsha is nameless and the time of it to form is approximately among the dramatist Bai Pu's period to 1309 AD,and the dominating area of spread is the northern part of the country of that time.

Abstract:Since mid-Ming Dynasty "Wu-sheng",the typical local literature,encountered an unprecedented crisis because of the rising of other two competing local literary schools: Qi-qi and Chu-feng.Qi-qi was featured with sublimity and elegance,dominating the realm of poetry in Ming-Dynasty with Seven-Poets of early and later periods.Wu Zhenqing,one of the early Seven-Poets,and Wang Shi-zhen,one of the later Seven-Poets,joined the mainstream of the realm of poetry,however,did not give up his characteristics of Wu-sheng.Qian Qianyi was devoted to building Wu culture and preaching Wu culture.In the tradition of literature,as a distinct local color Wu-sheng had always been neck and neck in the race of poetry writing.The history of poetry in late Ming and early Qing dynasty is a history of Qi-qi,Chu-feng and Wu-sheng competing and tolerating with one another.

Abstract:Distinctive both from such court poets as Yu Shinan and Xu Jingzong and from such official poets as Wei Zheng and Wang Gui in the royal year of Zhenguan,Wang Ji was a poet of individual style in the early Tang Dynasty.His poems were noble in mood and bold in strength,which influenced deeply the poetry reforms of those well-known poets in the early and the prosperous Tang Dynasty,including Chen Zi'ang and Zhang Jiuling.Wang's art of poem writing was directly derived from the group of Shandong poets headed by Lu Sidao and Xue Daoheng who served the North Zhou Dynasty first and then the Sui Dynasty,and his cultural spirit from the Hefen civilization as a branch of Shandong culture.This understanding of the origin of Wang Ji's art of poem writing will path the way for a better interpretation of the distinctions of artistic mechanism and cultural connotation of his poetry.

Abstract:Xu Zhaohua is generally recognized as the standard-bearer of feminine literature prevalent in the south of the Yangtse River during the Qing Dynasty.This paper aims to reconstruct her literary life and analyzes those poems collected in Huanxiang'ge Yi Gao but not included in Xu Du Jiang Shi.It is also argued that the poetess should not be thought of as belonging to the female literary group surnamed Qi.

Abstract:Zhu Xi's Dong gui luan gao represents Zhu Xi's journey experience and his own endeavor. The implications of the poetry anthology can be summarized as xin and Dao xin. Reflecting Zhu Xi's personality, Gui xin implies ethics and morality. Melancholy thinking of his family members in a strange place is an example showing his deep ethical emotion. Dominated with philosophy, Dao xin combines personal observation with aesthetic outlook. The informal style of Zhu Xi's poems results from his regarding philosophy as poetry and using poems as teaching resources. Zhu Xi's philosophical poetry was full of vitality in his times, reflecting his viewpoint, emotion and philosophical life, visualizing characteristics of philosophical discourses, widening aesthetic scope of Song poetry, enhancing applicable functions of the poetry. On the eastward journey, Zhu Xi created by chanting a myth keeping rationalistic thinking in harmony with ethical emotion and life taste.

Abstract:Various competing view points of poetry came into being since the mid-Ming Dynasty.The filed of poetry become very active.Numerous schools of poetry can be classified into three major schools according to their locations: Qi,Chu and Wu.The school of Qi is characterized with masculine sublimity and learned urbanity,which played a leading role for some time but later turned out to be artificial poems.The school of Chu are ethereal,spiritual and peculiar,which brought a fresh air to the field of poetry,however,withered soon for being accused as voice of a dying nation.As to the marginal school of Wu,it adhered to it living principle of being tender and sensitive,although under the dual pressure of the two big schools of Qi and Chu.The competition and tolerance among these three schools made the field of poetry lovely and animated in late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.This amazing spectacle lasted until the rising of the school of "Shen Yun" advocated by the literary leader Wang Shizhen in the middle period under the reign of Emperor Kangxi in Qing Dynasty.

Abstract:Five Mountain culture, a unique Sino-Japanese exchange, shaped Japan's development via Zen monks. These monks in China and Japan infused Zen's allure into Japan, initially captivating aristocrats and later the masses. As Five Mountain culture spread, it met the ruling party's needs, blending Chinese culture with local roots to form a distinct Japanese culture. Zen monks, especially Zekkai Chuushin, who studied in China, played pivotal roles. Zekkai Chuushin's Zen mastery, appreciation of Chinese customs, and study of Ming Dynasty calligraphy and poetry influenced the spread of Chinese culture. His masterpiece, "Jiao Jian Gao," epitomizes Chinese poetry in Five Mountain, encompassing nostalgia for China, yearning for homeland, and critiques of Japanese politics. Zekkai Chuushin's works reflect a deep exchange between Chinese and Japanese Zen literature, illustrating China's profound impact on Japanese Zen during the Muromachi period. This study explores how Japanese Zen monks, especially Zekkai Chuushin, drew inspiration from Chinese poetry. Through analysis of his poems, the authors examine the influence and adaptation of Chinese poetry in Japanese Zen literature. The comparative analysis highlights similarities and differences with native Chinese poets, shedding light on Japan's reception of Chinese culture in the Five Mountain period. Zekkai Chuushin creatively embraced Chinese poetry, leaving a profound mark on Japanese literature, skillfully merging tradition with originality and enriching Japanese literary culture while preserving Chinese poetic heritage, showcasing Japan's connection to Chinese culture through the Han language.

Abstract:During the middle of the Ming Dynasty when the doctrine of back to the ancients dominated in the circle of thinking,Tang Yin's view on literature had some spiritual similarities and different value priorities with the Former Seven Geniuses' doctrine of back to the ancients,Wang Yang-ming's ideaology and the Tang-Song school's inherent qualities.They had both similarities and differences in terms of philosophy,poetic theory,poetic proposition,and poetic creation.Tang Yin and other Wuzhong scholars,agreed with the Former Seven Geniuses' doctrine of back to the ancients,but the seven aimed to restore the classic poetry with Confucian traditions,while the Wuzhong scholars advocated the free presentation of emotions and talents.Tang Yin and Wang Yangming had some similarities in favor of the subjectivity of humans,but Tang Yin paid more attention to humans' emotions,natural requirements and individuality than his contemporaries.In terms of literary creation,Tang Yin acclaimed the real and natural expression of feelings and emotions,which had some similarities with the Tang-Song school's coherence of words and feelings.It is right to say in some way Tang Yin's literary creation influenced and enhanced the changes of the academic trend of the middle of the Ming Dynasty,and hence the role and influence of his distinctive creation can not be denied.

Abstract:Theory of reflection was mostly taken as method or principle for Wen Xin Diao Long [The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons] study in Wang Yuanhua's later academic life.In his "The Rise of Landscape Poetry Revealed in 'Ming Shi Chapter' of Wen Xin Diao Long" in 1962,he interpreted Liu Xie's "With the retreat of Zhuangzi and Laozi,there came landscape poetry" mechanically as "With the retreat of idealism,there came materialism".In his first version of 1979's Study of Wen Xin Diao Long,he discarded Jian Shi as lost article.In the revised version of his Articles on Wen Xin Diao Long in 1992,he discarded class analysis,idolatrous language and pattern labels which existed in the version in 1979.Even in his "dialogue on deathbed" his study of Wen Xin Diao Long still carried reflection principle,which lasted as long as half a century.All the century-long academic misplacement of Chinese literature should be attributed the deep negative influence of Soviet theoretical pattern on Chinese academy.

Abstract:In Tan Long Lu,Zhao Zhi-xin severely criticized Wang Shi-zhen.As such criticism related to the shift in poetry style during the reign of Kangxi,Yongzheng and Qianlong,it caught wide attention and complicated reactions among people both of that time and of later generations.In the first part,the article sheds light on comments made by people of Qing Dynasty on Zhao and Wang's different ideas toward poetry.Then concerning dispute over when Tan Long Lu was written,it provides evidence to prove that the date indicated in the preface by Zhao Zhi-xin was credible and Zhao's attitude towards literary criticism was based on honesty and objectivity rather than personal grievance with Wang Shi-zhen.In this regard,the article further explores the profound influence of Tan Long Lu on promoting the shift in poetry style and inspiring Shen De-qian,Yuan Mei and Weng Fang-gang to put forward theories on poetry of their own.

Abstract:As part of Existential Poetry,Yongshi Poetry,which is affected by social and cultural factors in its development process,shows different characteristics in different times.In Tang Dynasty,people's desire to build private gardens and their way of life resulting from it changed Yongshi Poetry both in form and in content.In Yongshi Poetry more attention was paid to depicting the shape of rocks and the abstract aesthetic which symbolize mountains and forests.In return,appreciating and praising rocks also exerted strong cultural impact upon garden construction and rock-appreciating culture,thus not only forming the aesthetic tradition of creating a forest realm by stacking stones and building up mountains,but aslo exerting a profound and far-reaching influence upon the landscaping of gardens which attaches much importance to the impressionistic approach and upon the idea of landscaping gardens about true and false.The formation and development of appreciating garden stones and Yongshi Poems which eulogize rocks represent a process of influencing and promoting each other.

Abstract:Wang Guo-wei is a representative of modern history study and was once regarded as "Pioneer of New History Study".His studies on literature,philosophy,history and so on are far more outstanding than his research on Jingxue due to the fact that Jingxue was neglected in modern times.However,after he took his travel to Japan and turned his research focus from literature and philosophy to history,Jingxue became a break-through for his great achievements in the later years.To Wang Guo-wei,Jingxue did not belong to Jinwen tradition as seen by Kang Youwei,neither did it belong to Guwen tradition perceived by Zhang Taiyan.It's no doubt that his work bears the most distinctive features in the argument on Jinwen and Guwen during late Qing and early Minguo period: through his study on the meanings of "Guwen" in "Shiji",he reveals the real sense of the works in early Han Dynasty;through his similar study on "Guwen" in "Hanshu",he makes clear the meanings of the works in early Eastern Han Dynasty;by studying "Shuowenjiezi",he understands what is discussed in "Shuowen";by studying the classics of Wei Dynasty carved in three different script styles,he understands the "Guwen Theory" in Wei,Jin and Six Kingdoms;It is also through his systematic study on Han Guwen school of thoughts that he realizes the significance of "Guwen" turning from script style to school of thoughts.In a word,by employing a new perspective,that is,by taking the advantage of the newly discovered new materials such as the excavated Jiaguwen as well as Jinwen(金文),Wang Guo-wei enables the research on Jingxue and its history to be more convincing and reliable.
