Abstract:We present explicit inverses of two Brownian--type matrices, which are defined as Hadamard products of certain already known matrices. The matrices under consideration are defined by $3n-1$ parameters and their lower Hessenberg form inverses are expressed analytically in terms of these parameters. Such matrices are useful in the theory of digital signal processing and in testing matrix inversion algorithms.

Abstract:Inversion of operators is a fundamental concept in data processing. Inversion of linear operators is well studied, supported by established theory. When an inverse either does not exist or is not unique, generalized inverses are used. Most notable is the Moore–Penrose inverse, widely used in physics, statistics, and various fields of engineering. This work investigates generalized inversion of nonlinear operators. We first address broadly the desired properties of generalized inverses, guided by the Moore–Penrose axioms. We define the notion for general sets and then a refinement, termed pseudo-inverse , for normed spaces. We present conditions for existence and uniqueness of a pseudo-inverse and establish theoretical results investigating its properties, such as continuity, its value for operator compositions and projection operators, and others. Analytic expressions are given for the pseudo-inverse of some well-known, non-invertible, nonlinear operators, such as hard- or soft-thresholding and ReLU. We analyze a neural layer and discuss relations to wavelet thresholding. Next, the Drazin inverse, and a relaxation, are investigated for operators with equal domain and range. We present scenarios where inversion is expressible as a linear combination of forward applications of the operator. Such scenarios arise for classes of nonlinear operators with vanishing polynomials, similar to the minimal or characteristic polynomials for matrices. Inversion using forward applications may facilitate the development of new efficient algorithms for approximating generalized inversion of complex nonlinear operators.

We comprehensively analyze several different symmetric and anti-symmetric padding modes and show that multiple cases exist where the inversion can be achieved. Abstract:We introduce the notion of a family of convolution operators associated with a given elliptic partial differential operator. Such a convolution structure is shown to exist for a general class of Laplace-Beltrami operators on two-dimensional manifolds endowed with cone-like metrics. This structure gives rise to a convolution semigroup representation for the Markovian semigroup generated by the Laplace-Beltrami operator. In the particular case of the operator $\mathcal{L} = \partial_x^2 + {1 \over 2x} \partial_x + {1 \over x} \partial_\theta^2$ on $\mathbb{R}^+ \times \mathbb{T}$, we deduce the existence of a convolution structure for a two-dimensional integral transform whose kernel and inversion formula can be written in closed form in terms of confluent hypergeometric functions. The results of this paper can be interpreted as a natural extension of the theory of one-dimensional generalized convolutions to the framework of multiparameter eigenvalue problems.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is threefold. The first is to show the matrix inversion method as a joint basis for the inversion of two important transforms: the M\"obius and Laplace transforms. It is found that the M\"obius transform is related to a multiplicative operator while the Laplace transform is related to an additive operator. The second is to show that the matrix inverison method is a useful tool for inverse problems not only in statistical physics but also in applied physics by means of adding two other applications, one the derivation of the Fuoss-Kirkwood formulas for relaxation spectra in studies of anelasticity and dielectrics and the other the reconstruction of real signal in signal processing. The third is to indicate the potentiality of the matrix inversion method as a rough algorithm for numerical solution of the convolution integral equation. The numerical examples given include the inversion of Laplace transform and the signal reconstruction with a Gaussian point spread kernel. (c) 1995 The American Physical Society

Abstract:In this article, we studied the convolution operators with oscillatory kernel, which are related to the solutions of the Cauchy problem for the strictly hyperbolic equations. The operator is associated to the characteristic hypersurfaces of a hyperbolic equation and smooth amplitude function, which is homogeneous of the order for large values of the argument. We investigated the convolution operators assuming that the corresponding amplitude function is contained in a sufficiently small conic neighborhood of a given point at which, exactly one of the principal curvatures of the surface does not vanish. Such surfaces exhibit singularities of the type A in the sense of Arnold's classification. Denoting by the minimal number such that is -bounded for we showed that the number depends on some discrete characteristics of the surface .

Abstract:This paper aims to provide a thorough characterization of the family of all Cantor-Bendixson derivatives of the spectrum, Browder spectrum, and the Drazin spectrum of bounded linear operators using projections and invariant subspaces. Furthermore, our findings demonstrate that if two commuting operators, R and T , satisfy the conditions that R is Riesz and T is a direct sum of an invertible operator and an operator with an at most countable spectrum, then can also be represented as a direct sum of an invertible operator and an operator with an at most countable spectrum.

Abstract:The global homeomorphism theorem for quasiconformal maps describes the following specifically higher-dimensional phenomenon: {\em Locally invertible quasiconformal mapping $f: {\R}^{n} \to {\R}^{n}$ is globally invertible provided $n > 2$.} We prove the following operator version of the global homeomorphism theorem. {\em If the operator $ f: H \to H $ acting in the Hilbert space $ H $ is locally invertible and is an operator of bounded distortion, then it is globally invertible.}

Abstract:Let D(Ω,Φ) be the unbounded realization of the classical domain [Formula: see text] of type one. In general, its Šilov boundary [Formula: see text] is a nilpotent Lie group of step two. In this article we define the Radon transform on [Formula: see text], and obtain an inversion formula [Formula: see text] in terms of a determinantal differential operator. Moreover, we characterize a subspace of [Formula: see text] on which the Radon transform is a bijection. By use of the suitable continuous wavelet transform we establish a new inversion formula of the Radon transform in weak sense without the assumption of differentiability.

Abstract:Let $\sigma : \mathbb C^d \rightarrow \mathbb C^d$ be an affine-linear involution such that $J_\sigma = -1$ and let $U, V$ be two domains in $\mathbb C^d.$ Let $\phi : U \rightarrow V$ be a $\sigma$-invariant $2$-proper map such that $J_\phi$ is affine-linear and let $\mathscr H(U)$ be a $\sigma$-invariant reproducing kernel Hilbert space of complex-valued holomorphic functions on $U.$ It is shown that the space $\mathscr H_\phi(V):=\{f \in \mathrm{Hol}(V) : J_\phi \cdot f \circ \phi \in \mathscr H(U)\}$ endowed with the norm $\|f\|_\phi :=\|J_\phi \cdot f \circ \phi\|_{\mathscr H(U)}$ is a reproducing kernel Hilbert space and the linear mapping $\varGamma_\phi$ defined by $ \varGamma_\phi(f) = J_\phi \cdot f \circ \phi,$ $f \in \mathrm{Hol}(V),$ is a unitary from $\mathscr H_\phi(V)$ onto $\{f \in \mathscr H(U) : f = -f \circ \sigma\}.$ Moreover, a neat formula for the reproducing kernel $\kappa_{\phi}$ of $\mathscr H_\phi(V)$ in terms of the reproducing kernel of $\mathscr H(U)$ is given. The above scheme is applicable to symmetrized bidisc, tetrablock, $d$-dimensional fat Hartogs triangle and $d$-dimensional egg domain. Although some of these are known, this allows us to obtain an analog of von Neumann's inequality for contractive tuples naturally associated with these domains.

Abstract:We demonstrate that the presence of summands with involution in the argument in an ordinary differential equation can significantly affect the well-posedness of the Cauchy and other problems. Furthermore, we show that the above effects can influence the well-posedness of classical boundary value problems for partial differential equations, particularly in the case of parabolic and pseudoparabolic equations.

Symmetry Integrability and Geometry Methods and Applications

Abstract:A compactly supported distribution is called invertible in the sense of Ehrenpreis-Hörmander if the convolution with it induces a surjection from to itself. We give sufficient conditions for radial functions to be invertible. Our analysis is based on the asymptotic expansions of finite Hankel transforms. The dominant term may be the contribution from the origin or from the boundary of the support of the function. For the proof, we propose a new method to calculate the asymptotic expansions of finite Hankel transforms of functions with singularities at a point other than the origin.
