Abstract:The definition of Ricci curvature on graphs in Bakry-Émery's sense based on curvature dimension condition was introduced by Lin and Yau [\emph{Math. Res. Lett.}, 2010]. Hua and Lin [\emph{Comm. Anal. Geom.}, 2019] classified unweighted graphs satisfying the curvature dimension condition $CD(0,\infty)$ whose girth are at least five. In this paper, we classify all of connected unweighted normalized $C_4$-free graphs satisfying curvature dimension condition $CD(0,\infty)$ for minimum degree at least 2 and the case with non-normalized Laplacian without degree condition..

Abstract:We study graphs with nonnegative Bakry-Émery curvature or Ollivier curvature outside a finite subset. For such a graph, via introducing the discrete Gromov-Hausdorff convergence we prove that the space of bounded harmonic functions is finite dimensional, and as a corollary the number of non-parabolic ends is finite.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the geometry of the moduli space of curves by using the curvature properties of direct image sheaves of vector bundles. We show that the moduli space $(M_g, \omega_{WP})$ of curves with genus $g>1$ has dual-Nakano negative and semi-Nakano-negative curvature, and in particular, it has non-positive Riemannain curvature operator and also non-positive complex sectional curvature. As applications, we prove that any submanifold in $M_g$ which is totally geodesic in $A_g$ with finite volume must be a ball quotient. We also show that, on a Kodaira (deformation) surface, there is no K\"ahler metric with non-positive Riemannain sectional curvature although it possesses K\"ahler metrics with strictly negative holomorphic bisectional curvature.

Abstract:This article introduces and studies a new class of graphs motivated by discrete curvature. We call a graph resistance nonnegative if there exists a distribution on its spanning trees such that every vertex has expected degree at most two in a random spanning tree; these are precisely the graphs that admit a metric with nonnegative resistance curvature, a discrete curvature introduced by Devriendt and Lambiotte. We show that this class of graphs lies between Hamiltonian and $1$-tough graphs and, surprisingly, that a graph is resistance nonnegative if and only if its twice-dilated matching polytope intersects the interior of its spanning tree polytope. We study further characterizations and basic properties of resistance nonnegative graphs and pose several questions for future research.

Abstract:We prove that the total curvature of a planar graph with nonnegative combinatorial curvature is at least 1/12 if it is positive. Moreover, we classify the metric structures of ambient polygonal surfaces for planar graphs attaining this bound.

Abstract:We classify all connected, simple, 3-regular graphs with girth at least 5 that are Ricci-flat. We use the definition of Ricci curvature on graphs given in Lin-Lu-Yau, Tohoku Math., 2011, which is a variation of Ollivier, J. Funct. Anal., 2009. A graph is Ricci-flat, if it has vanishing Ricci curvature on all edges. We show, that the only Ricci-flat cubic graphs with girth at least 5 are the Petersen graph, the Triplex and the dodecahedral graph. This will correct the classification in Lin-Lu-Yau, Comm. Anal. Geom., 2014, that misses the Triplex.

Abstract:The definition of Ricci curvature on graphs given in Lin-Lu-Yau, Tohoku Math., 2011, which is a variation of Ollivier, J. Funct. Math., 2009. Recently, a powerful limit-free formulation of Lin-Lu-Yau curvature using graph Laplacian was given in Münch-Wojciechowski, Adv. Math., 2019. Let $F_k$ be the friendship graph obtained from $k$ triangles by sharing a common vertex and $T$ be the graph obtained from a triangle and $K_{1,3}$ by adding a matching between every leave of $K_{1,3}$ and a vertex of the triangle. In this paper, we classify all of connected $C_4$-free graphs with positive LLY curvature for minimum degree at least 2: the cycles $C_3,C_5$, the friendship graphs $F_2,F_3$ and $T$.

Abstract:By Hall' s marriage theorem, we study lower bounds of the Lin-Lu-Yau curvature of amply regular graphs with girth 3 or 4 under different parameter restrictions. As a consequence,we show that each conference graph has positive Lin-Lu-Yau curvature. Our approach also provides a geometric proof of a known diameter estimates of amply regular graphs in the case of girth 4 and some special cases of girth 3.

Abstract:In the present paper, we apply Alexandrov geometry methods to study geometric analysis aspects of infinite semiplanar graphs with nonnegative combinatorial curvature in the sense of Higuchi. We obtain the metric classification of these graphs and construct the graphs embedded in the projective plane minus one point. Moreover, we show the volume doubling property and the Poincar\'e inequality on such graphs. The quadratic volume growth of these graphs implies the parabolicity. In addition, we prove the polynomial growth harmonic function theorem analogous to the case of Riemannian manifolds.

Abstract:In this paper, we study curvature dimension conditions on birth-death processes which correspond to linear graphs, i.e., weighted graphs supported on the infinite line or the half line. We give a combinatorial characterization of Bakry and Émery’s CD(K,n) condition for linear graphs and prove the triviality of edge weights for every linear graph supported on the infinite line Z with non-negative curvature. Moreover, we show that linear graphs with curvature decaying not faster than −R2 are stochastically complete. We deduce a type of Bishop-Gromov comparison theorem for normalized linear graphs. For normalized linear graphs with non-negative curvature, we obtain the volume doubling property and the Poincaré inequality, which yield Gaussian heat kernel estimates and parabolic Harnack inequality by Delmotte’s result. As applications, we generalize the volume growth and stochastic completeness properties to weakly spherically symmetric graphs. Furthermore, we give examples of infinite graphs with a positive lower curvature bound.

Abstract:In this paper, we give the sharp upper bound for the number of vertices with positive curvature in a planar graph with nonnegative combinatorial curvature. Based on this, we show that the automorphism group of a planar—possibly infinite—graph with nonnegative combinatorial curvature and positive total curvature is a finite group, and give an upper bound estimate for the order of the group.

Abstract:We show that if a planar graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $3$ has positive Lin-Lu-Yau Ricci curvature on every edge, then $\Delta(G)\leq 17$, which then implies that $G$ is finite. This is an analogue of a result of DeVos and Mohar [{\em Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., 2007}] on the size of planar graphs with positive combinatorial curvature.

Abstract:Lin-Lu-Yau introduced an interesting notion of Ricci curvature for graphs and obtained a complete characterization for all Ricci-flat graphs with girth at least five [1]. In this paper, we propose a concrete approach to construct an infinite family of distinct Ricci-flat graphs of girth four with edge-disjoint 4-cycles and completely characterize all Ricci-flat graphs of girth four with vertex-disjoint 4-cycles.

Abstract:Brighton (in J Geom Anal 23(2):562–570, 2013) proved the Liouville theorem for bounded harmonic functions on weighted manifolds satisfying non-negative curvature dimension condition, i.e. $$\mathrm {CD}(0,\infty ).$$ In this paper, we provide a new proof of this result by using the reverse Poincaré inequality. Moreover, we adopt this approach to prove the Liouville theorem for bounded harmonic functions on graphs satisfying the $$\mathrm {CD}(0,\infty )$$ condition.
