Abstract:For a once-punctured complex torus, we compare the Bergman kernel and the fundamental metric, by constructing explicitly the Evans-Selberg potential and discussing its asymptotic behaviors. This work aims to generalize the Suita type results to potential-theoretically parabolic Riemann surfaces.

Abstract:In this paper we briefly discuss some of our recent results in the study of moduli space of Riemann surfaces. It is naturally divided into two parts, one about the differential geometric aspect, another on the topological aspect of the moduli spaces. To understand the geometry of the moduli spaces we introduced new metrics, studied in detail all of the known classical complete metrics, especially the Kähler-Einstein metric. As a corollary we proved that the logarithmic cotangent bundle of the moduli space is strictly stable in the sense of Mumford. The topological results we obtained were motivated by conjectures from string theory. We will describe in this part our proofs by localization method of the Mariño-Vafa formula, its two partition analogue as well as the theory of topological vertex and the simple localization proofs of the ELSV formula and the Witten conjecture. The applications of these formulas in Gromov-Witten theory and string duality will also be mentioned.

Abstract:The weak geometric P=W conjecture of L. Katzarkov, A. Noll, P. Pandit, and C. Simpson states that, a smooth Betti moduli space of complex dimension $d$ over a punctured Riemann surface has the dual boundary complex homotopy equivalent to a sphere of dimension $d-1$. Via a microlocal geometric perspective, we verify this conjecture for a class of rank $n$ wild character varieties over the two-sphere with one puncture, associated with any Stokes Legendrian link defined by an $n$-strand positive braid.

Complete metrics with constant fractional higher order $Q$-curvature on the punctured sphere

Abstract:This manuscript is devoted to constructing complete metrics with constant higher fractional curvature on punctured spheres with finitely many isolated singularities. Analytically, this problem is reduced to constructing singular solutions for a conformally invariant integro-differential equation that generalizes the critical GJMS problem. Our proof follows the earlier construction in Ao {\it et al.} \cite{MR3694645}, based on a gluing method, which we briefly describe. Our main contribution is to provide a unified approach for fractional and higher order cases. This method relies on proving Fredholm properties for the linearized operator around a suitably chosen approximate solution. The main challenge in our approach is that the solutions to the related blow-up limit problem near isolated singularities need to be fully classified; hence we are not allowed to use a simplified ODE method. To overcome this issue, we approximate solutions near each isolated singularity by a family of half-bubble tower solutions. Then, we reduce our problem to solving an (infinite-dimensional) Toda-type system arising from the interaction between the bubble towers at each isolated singularity. Finally, we prove that this system's solvability is equivalent to the existence of a balanced configuration.

Abstract:We propose a generalization of the Bonahon-Wong-Yang volume conjecture of quantum invariants of surface diffeomorphisms, by relating the asymptotics of the invariants with certain hyperbolic cone structure on the mapping torus determined by the choice of the invariant puncture weights. We prove the conjecture for the once-punctured torus bundle with the diffeomorphism given by the word $LR$.

Moduli space theory for complete, constant Q-curvature metrics on finitely punctured spheres

Abstract:We study constant Q-curvature metrics conformal to the round metric on the sphere with finitely many point singularities. We show that the moduli space of solutions with finitely many punctures in fixed positions, equipped with the Gromov-Hausdorff topology, has the local structure of a real analytic variety with formal dimension equal to the number of the punctures. If a nondegeneracy hypothesis holds, we show that a neighborhood in the moduli space is actually a real-analytic manifold of the expected dimension. We also construct a geometrically natural set of parameters, construct a symplectic structure on this parameter space and show that in the smooth case a small neighborhood of the moduli space embeds as a Lagrangian submanifold in the parameter space.

Abstract:Let Mn be a compact hypersurface with constant mean curvature H in Sn+1. Denote by S the squared norm of the second fundamental form of M. We prove that there exists an explicit positive constant γ(n) depending only on n such that if |H|≤γ(n) and β(n,H)≤S≤β(n,H)+n23, then S≡β(n,H) and M is one of the following cases: (i) Sk(kn)×Sn−k(n−kn), 1≤k≤n−1; (ii) S1(11+μ2)×Sn−1(μ1+μ2). Here β(n,H)=n+n32(n−1)H2+n(n−2)2(n−1)n2H4+4(n−1)H2 and μ=n|H|+n2H2+4(n−1)2. For n∈{6,12,24}, we give examples to show that the assumption |H|≤γ(n) cannot be removed.
Bordered contact instantons and their Fredholm theory and generic transversalities

Abstract:In this article, we first establish the Fredholm theory for the bordered contact instantons defined on the punctured Riemann surfaces with prescribed asymptotic condition near the boundary punctures. We then prove the generic mapping transversality under the perturbation of Legendrian boundary condition. We also establish their generic (0-jet) evaluation transversality results of their moduli space under the perturbations of CR almost complex structures and of Legendrian boundary conditions. These are fundamental ingredients of the construction of the moduli space of bordered contact instantons and their applications.

Solutions to ${\rm SU}(n+1)$ Toda system with cone singularities via toric curves on compact Riemann surfaces

Abstract:On a compact Riemann surface (X) with finite punctures (P_1, \ldots, P_k), we define toric curves as multi-valued, totally unramified holomorphic maps to (\mathbb{P}^n) with monodromy in a maximal torus of ({\rm PSU}(n+1)). \textit{Toric solutions} for the ({\rm SU}(n+1)) system on $X\setminus\{P_1,\ldots, P_k\}$ are recognized by their associated {\it toric} curves in (\mathbb{P}^n). We introduce a character n-ensemble as an (n)-tuple of meromorphic one-forms with simple poles and purely imaginary periods, generating toric curves on (X) minus finitely many points. We establish on $X$ a correspondence between character $n$-ensembles and toric solutions to the ({\rm SU}(n+1)) system with finitely many cone singularities. Our approach not only broadens seminal solutions for up to two cone singularities on the Riemann sphere, as classified by Jost-Wang (Int. Math. Res. Not., (6):277-290, 2002) and Lin-Wei-Ye (Invent. Math., 190(1):169-207, 2012), but also advances beyond the limits of Lin-Yang-Zhong's existence theorems (J. Differential Geom., 114(2):337-391, 2020) by introducing a new solution class.

The zeta-determinants and anlaytic torsion of a metric mapping torus

Abstract:We use the BFK-gluing formula for zeta-determinants to compute the zeta-determinant and analytic torsion of a metric mapping torus induced from an isometry. As applications, we compute the zeta-determinants of the Laplacians defined on a Klein bottle ${\mathbb K}$ and some compact co-Kähler manifold ${\mathbb T}_{\varphi}$. We also show that a metric mapping torus and a Riemannian product manifold with a round circle have the same heat trace asymptotic expansions. We finally compute the analytic torsion of a metric mapping torus for the Witten deformed Laplacian and recover the result of J. Marcsik in \cite{Ma}.

Abstract:We study the tangential case in 2-dimensional almost-Riemannian geometry. We analyse the connection with the Martinet case in sub-Riemannian geometry. We compute estimations of the exponential map which allow us to describe the conjugate locus and the cut locus at a tangency point. We prove that this last one generically accumulates at the tangency point as an asymmetric cusp whose branches are separated by the singular set.

Abstract:By revisiting Tian's peak section method, we obtain a localization principle of the Bergman kernels on Kähler manifolds with complex hyperbolic cusps, which is a generalization of Auvray–Ma–Marinescu's (Math Ann 379:51–1002, 2021) localization result Bergman kernels on punctured Riemann surfaces . Then we give some further estimates when the metric on the complex hyperbolic cusp is a Kähler–Einstein metric or when the manifold is a quotient of the complex ball. By applying our method directly to Poincaré type cusps, we also get a partial localization result.

Abstract:Starting from a torus knot $\mathcal{K}$ in the lens space $L(p,-1)$, we construct a Lagrangian sub-manifold $L_{\mathcal{K}}$ in $\mathcal{X}=\big(\mathcal{O}_{\mathbb{P}^1}(-1)\oplus \mathcal{O}_{\mathbb{P}^1}(-1)\big)/\mathbb{Z}_p$ under the conifold transition. We prove a mirror theorem which relates the all genus open-closed Gromov-Witten invariants of $(\mathcal{X},L_{\mathcal{K}})$ to the topological recursion on the B-model spectral curve. This verifies a conjecture in \cite{Bor-Bri} in the case of lens space.

On the $p$-torsional rigidity of combinatorial graphs

Abstract:We study the $p$-\emph{torsion function} and the corresponding $p$-\emph{torsional rigidity} associated with $p$-Laplacians and, more generally, $p$-Schrödinger operators, for $1<p<\infty$, on possibly infinite combinatorial graphs. We present sufficient criteria for the existence of a summable $p$-torsion function and we derive several upper and lower bounds for the $p$-torsional rigidity. Our methods are mostly based on novel surgery principles. As an application, we also find some new estimates on the bottom of the spectrum of the $p$-Laplacian with Dirichlet conditions, thus complementing some results recently obtained in: José M. Mazón, Julian Toledo, Torsional rigidity in random walk spaces, in a more general setting. Finally, we prove a Kohler-Jobin inequality for combinatorial graphs (for $p=2$): to the best of our knowledge, graphs thus become the third ambient where a Kohler-Jobin inequality is known to hold.

Perturbed Traceless SU(2) Character Varieties of Tangle Sums

Abstract:If a link $L$ can be decomposed into the union of two tangles $T\cup_{S^2} S$ along a 2-sphere intersecting $L$ in 4 points, then the intersections of perturbed traceless SU(2) character varieties of tangles in a space called the pillowcase form a set of generators for Kronheimer and Mrowka's reduced singular instanton homology, $I^\natural$. It is conjectured by Cazassus, Herald, Kirk, and Kotelskiy that with the addition of bounding cochains, the differential of $I^\natural$ can be recovered from these Lagrangians as well. This article gives a method to compute the perturbed character variety for a large class of tangles using cut-and-paste methods. In particular, given two tangles, $T$ and $S$, Conway defines the tangle sum $T+S$. Given the character varieties of $T$ and $S$, we show how to construct the perturbed character variety of $T+S$. This is done by first studying the perturbed character variety of a certain tangle $C_3$ properly embedded in $S^3$ with 3 balls removed. Using these results, we prove a nontriviality result for the bounding cochains in the conjecture of Cazassus, Herald, Kirk, and Kotelskiy.

Abstract:In this paper, we study bi-Hermitian metrics on complex surfaces with split holomorphic tangent bundle and construct 2 types of metric cones. We introduce a new type of fully non-linear geometric PDE on such surfaces and establish smooth solutions. As a geometric application, we solve the prescribed Bismut Ricci problem. In various settings, we obtain canonical metrics on 2 important classes of complex surfaces: primary Hopf surfaces and Inoue surfaces of type $\mathcal{S}_{M}$.

Abstract:Using the techniques developed in \cite{SunSun}, we give estimations of the Bergman kernel of the punctured disk with the standard complete Poincar\'{e} metric. As an application, we improve the result of \cite{AMM} on the Bergman kernels of punctured Riemann surfaces near singularities.

Abstract:We prove that a formal power series associated to an ideally triangulated cusped hyperbolic 3-manifold (together with some further choices) is a topological invariant. This formal power series is conjectured to agree to all orders in perturbation theory with two important topological invariants of hyperbolic knots, namely the Kashaev invariant and the Andersen--Kashaev invariant (also known as the state-integral) of Teichmüller TQFT.

Super Gromov-Witten Invariants via torus localization

Abstract:In this article we propose a definition of super Gromov-Witten invariants by postulating a torus localization property for the odd directions of the moduli spaces of super stable maps and super stable curves of genus zero. That is, we define super Gromov-Witten invariants as the integral over the pullback of homology classes along the evaluation maps divided by the equivariant Euler class of the normal bundle of the embedding of the moduli space of stable spin maps into the moduli space of super stable maps. This definition sidesteps the difficulties of defining a supergeometric intersection theory and works with classical intersection theory only. The properties of the normal bundles, known from the differential geometric construction of the moduli space of super stable maps, imply that super Gromov-Witten invariants satisfy a generalization of Kontsevich-Manin axioms and allow for the construction of a super small quantum cohomology ring. We describe a method to calculate super Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathbb{P}^n$ of genus zero by a further geometric torus localization and give explicit numbers in degree one when dimension and number of marked points are small.
