Abstract:In this study, the authors investigated how the ionization of argon gas produced a cold plasma that altered the optical characteristics of platinum (Pt) nanostructures deposited through the spin-coating deposition technique. 3, 6, and 9 min of light were shone on the ready-made nanostructures. Each sample was analyzed for its dielectric constant, transmittance, absorbance, absorption coefficient, energy gap, and extinction coefficient. Plasma exposure is observed to enhance absorbance, absorption coefficient, refractive index, and dielectric constant while decreasing the energy gap and transmittance. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first research to examine how cold atmospheric plasma affects the transparency of platinum nanostructures. These applications illustrate the adaptability of platinum nanostructures with altered optical characteristics and their potential to impact sectors ranging from medicine and catalysis to materials science and electronics. The capacity to precisely adjust the optical characteristics of platinum nanostructures has a multitude of prospects for the advancement of novel technologies.
