Abstract:The momentum space associated with "tachyonic particles" proves to be rather intricate, departing very much from the ordinary dual to Minkowski space directly parametrized by space-time translations of the Poincaré group. In fact, although described by the constants of motion (Noether invariants) associated with space-time translations, they depend non-trivially on the parameters of the rotation subgroup. However, once the momentum space is parametrized by the Noether invariants, it behaves exactly as that of ordinary particles. On the other hand, the evolution parameter is no longer the one associated with time translation, whose Noether invariant, $P_o$, is now a basic one. Evolution takes place in a spatial direction. These facts not only make difficult the computation of the corresponding representation, but also force us to a sound revision of several traditional ingredients related to Cauchy hypersurface, scalar product and, of course, causality. After that, the theory becomes consistent and could shed new light on some special physical situations like inflation or traveling inside a black hole.

Covariant quantum field theory of tachyons is unphysical

Abstract:Tachyons have fascinated generations of physicists due to their peculiar behavior, but they did not solve any real physical problem. This changed with the recent work of Dragan and Ekert, who have shown that superluminal observers may be related to the foundations of quantum mechanics (QM), since they require introducing non-determinism and wave-like behavior at the fundamental level. In fact, both classical and quantum field theory of tachyons have been constructed. Unfortunately, we will show that the latter theory contains several flaws, mostly caused by adapting incorrect results due to other authors, which puts the aforementioned program in question. In particular, unlike Feinberg, we show that tachyon microcausality violation spoils fundamental features of QFT such as statistical independence of distant measurements, and it negatively affects constructing Lorentz invariant scattering theory of tachyons. Moreover, the Feynman propagator, which was adapted from Dhar and Sudarshan, is shown to violate unitarity, the tachyonic vacuum is unstable due to radiatively generated tachyon self-interactions, and an interpolating tachyon field likely does not satisfy the LSZ asymptotic condition. Our analysis indicates that a covariant QFT of tachyons seems impossible, hence superluminal observers are unphysical and cannot be used to derive QM.

Abstract:We correct a mistake in the analytical expression for the energy density given in Phys. Rev. C76, 021902 (2007) [arXiv:0704.3625 [hep-ph]]. The expression should be multiplied by 16. One question then arises; how could it be possible to explain this difference between the analytical and numerical results in the same model if both are correct? We find a subtle problem in the treatment of the randomness of the color source along the longitudinal direction and the treatment of the longitudinal extent of the color source.

Abstract:An important methodological problem of theoretical mechanics related to inertia is discussed. Analysis Inertia is performed in four-dimensional Minkowski space-time based on the law of conservation of energy-momentum. This approach allows us to combine the laws of conservation of momentum and angular momentum into a single law and separate the forces of inertia that actually exist in nature from the imaginary forces introduced to simplify calculations or arising from the transition from one frame of reference to another. From the energy-momentum tensor, in a non-relativistic approximation, the equation of balance of inertia forces existing in nature for a moving continuous medium and a material point in an inertial frame of reference is obtained. It follows from this equation that the pseudo-Euclidean geometry of our world plays an important role in the manifestation of inertia forces. The tensor and the balance equations of all inertia forces in a continuous medium a moving with angular acceleration are obtained. This allows uniform formulation and presentation of the original categories and concepts of classical and relativistic mechanics in educational and scientific literature within the framework of the current paradigm.

Abstract:We show that the static solutions of massive classical fields are forbidden in the Minkowski space time with dimensions higher than $2$. The purpose of this study is to generalize the forbiddance of the time independent localized classical fields in general space time. We generalize the Derrick theorem as unstable stationary localized solutions for the nonlinear wave equation or the nonlinear Klein - Gordon equation in Minkowski space time. Our approach employs the tensor of the energy - momentum based on Weber's method. We exploite the Bateman - Caldilora - Kanai model and the Deser method for the research of the Yang - Mills Lumps as massive solutions. We also use Riemann's coordinates for parametrization of tangent space as a local framework. The important point of this article is the homomorphism between the Minkowsian and pseudo Riemann's manifolds.

Momentum-dependent field redefinitions in Asymptotic Safety

Abstract:We discuss general momentum-dependent field redefinitions in the context of quantum-gravitational scattering amplitudes in general, and Asymptotic Safety in particular. Implementing such redefinitions at the lowest curvature order, we can bring the graviton propagator into tree-level form, avoiding issues of fiducial ghost poles and their associated violations of unitarity. We compute the beta function for Newton's constant, and find an asymptotically safe fixed point whose critical exponent changes by $0.4\%$ compared to not resolving the momentum-dependent field redefinition. This provides a strong indication that this fixed point does not feature extra degrees of freedom related to ghostly modes, and has a good chance of being related to a unitary theory.

Abstract:The Special Relativity allows the possibility of a class of particles, known tachyons, that have spacelike 4-velocities, i.e., which move with velocity greater than speed of light in vacuum. In this existence frame, the tachyons have energy and momentum and they must contribute to the gravitational field through by the means of the energy-momentum tensor. The superluminal perfect fluid tensor is obtained assuming the framework Lagrangian formalism and spacelike 4-velocities flowlines of tachyons with energy density. The perfect fluid of tachyons gives rise a positive energy density and a form of negative pressure, which according to various cosmological theoretical results, it is associated with dark energy.

Abstract:Rapidly moving sources create pairs in the vacuum and lose energy. In consequence of this, the velocity of a charged body cannot approach the speed of light closer than a certain limit which depends only on the coupling constant. The vacuum back-reaction secures the observance of the conservation laws. A source can lose up to 50% of energy and charge because of the vacuum instability.

Negative-energy and tachyonic solutions in the Weinberg-Tucker-Hammer equation for spin 1

Abstract:We considered Weinberg-like equations in the article [1] in order to construct the Feynman-Dyson propagator for the spin-1 particles. This construction is based on the concept of the Weinberg field as a system of four field functions differing by parity and by dual transformations. We also analyzed the recent controversy in the definitions of the Feynman-Dyson propagator for the field operator containing the S=1/2 self/anti-self charge conjugate states in the papers by D. Ahluwalia et al and by W. Rodrigues Jr. et al. The solution to this mathematical controversy is obvious. I proposed the necessary doubling of the Fock Space (as in the Barut and Ziino works), thus extending the corresponding Clifford Algebra. Meanwhile, the N. Debergh et al article considered our old ideas of doubling the Dirac equation, and other forms of T- and PT-conjugation [5]. Both algebraic equation Det (\hat p - m) =0 and Det (\hat p + m) =0 for u- and v- 4-spinors have solutions with p_0= \pm E_p =\pm \sqrt{{\bf p}^2 +m^2}. The same is true for higher-spin equations (or they may even have more complicated dispersion relations). Meanwhile, every book considers the equality p_0=E_p for both u- and v- spinors of the (1/2,0)\oplus (0,1/2)) representation only, thus applying the Dirac-Feynman-Stueckelberg procedure for elimination of negative-energy solutions. It seems, that it is imposible to consider the relativistic quantum mechanics appropriately without negative energies, tachyons and appropriate forms of the discrete symmetries.

Abstract:Recently, we have investigated the dynamics of the universe in tachyon cosmology with non-minimal coupling to matter \cite{faraj}-\cite{faraj3}. In particular, for the interacting holographic dark energy (IHDE), the model is studied in \cite{Ravanpak}. In the current work, a significant observational program has been conducted to unveil the model's thermodynamic properties. Our result shows that the IHDE version of our model better fits the observational data than $\Lambda$CDM model. The first and generalized second thermodynamics laws for the universe enveloped by cosmological apparent and event horizon are revisited. From the results, both first and generalized second laws, constrained by the observational data, are satisfied on cosmological apparent <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://horizon.In" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> addition, the total entropy is verified with the observation only if the horizon of the universe is taken as apparent horizon. Then, due to validity of generalized second law, the current cosmic acceleration is also predicted.

On the Quantum Deviations from Einstein Dilation of Unstable Quanton Decay Evolution and Lifetimes

Abstract:For over a decade several workers have argued for the existence of quantum deviations from the classical, Einstein dilation of the decay evolution of moving or Lorentz boosted unstable particles. While the general claim is correct, the discussions have been incomplete and, sometimes, misleading. The discussions have been of three kinds. Type 1 examines the time dependence of the survival probability for 3-momentum eigenstates of the unstable quanton (Khalfin). Type 2 does the same for velocity eigenstates, obtaining an outrageous result which then discredits velocity eigenstates (Shirokov / Hegerfeldt). Type 3 examines arbitrary boosts of 3-momentum eigenstates (Stefanovich). Type 1 is incomplete since the momentum eigenstates are not the boosts of one another. Type 2 is misleading since the outrageous result is due to misinterpreting the initial conditions of the velocity eigenstates (as I have previously argued). Type 3 is the most satisfactory, but has failed to recognize and implement the unification of all three types of discussion that can be achieved. In this paper I will provide that unified treatment, beginning with a recapitulation of Type 1 and offering further clarification of Type 2 in the process. The unified treatment fully reinstates velocity eigenstates as essential contributors to unstable quanton states. Besides discussing the time evolution of survival probabilities I also focus on the concept of lifetime defined as the average time of decay. This quantity is helpful in order to display the inequivalent dependence of dilation on momentum and boosts most sharply and the deviation from Einstein dilation most cleanly.

Abstract:Quantum electrodynamics (QED) is considered the most accurate theory in the history of science. However, this precision is based on a single experimental value: the anomalous magnetic moment of the electron (g-factor). An examination of the history of QED reveals that this value was obtained in a very suspicious way. These suspicions include the case of Karplus & Kroll, who admitted to having lied in their presentation of the most relevant calculation in the history of QED. As we will demonstrate in this paper, the Karplus & Kroll affair was not an isolated case, but one in a long series of errors, suspicious coincidences, mathematical inconsistencies and renormalized infinities swept under the rug.

Abstract:We reveal an underlying flaw in Reginald T. Cahill's recently promoted quantum foam inflow theory of gravity. It appears to arise from a confusion of the idea of the Galilean invariance of the acceleration of an individual flow with what is obtained as an acceleration when a homogeneous flow is superposed with an inhomogeneous flow. We also point out that the General Relativistic covering theory he creates by substituting a generalized Painleve-Gullstrand metric into Einstein's field equations leads to absurd results.

Abstract:We consider near-horizon collisions between two particles moving freely in the Schwarzschild metric in the region outside the horizon. One of them emerges from a white hole. We scrutiny when such a process can lead to the indefinitely large growth of the energy in the center of mass frame in the point of collision. We also trace how the kinematics of collision manifests itself in preserving the principle of kinematic censorship according to which the energy released in any event of collision cannot be literally infinite. According to this principle, the energy released in any event of collision, must remain finite although it can be made as large as one likes. Also, we find that particle decay near the singularity leads to unbounded release of energy independently of its initial value.
