Abstract:In this paper, we prove two normality criteria for families of some functions concerning shared values, the results generalize those given by Hu and Meng. Some examples are given to show the sharpness of our results.

The first criterion extends a result of Fang and Zalcman[Normal families and shared values of meromorphic functions II, Comput. Methods Funct. Theory, 1(2001), 289 - 299] to a bigger class of differential polynomials whereas the second one leads to some counterexamples to the converse of the Bloch's principle.

Abstract:Let f be a transcendental meromorphic function on the complex plane ℂ, let a be a non-zero finite complex number and let n and k be two positive integers. In this paper, we prove that if n≥k+1, then $\smash{f+a(f^{(k)})^n}$ assumes each value b∈ℂ infinitely often. Also, the related normal criterion for families of meromorphic functions is given. Our results generalize the related results of Fang and Zalcman.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove some normality criteria concerning transitivity of normality from one family of meromorphic functions to another which improve and generalize some recent results. We also prove some value distribution results for certain differential polynomials which lead to some normality criteria involving sharing of holomorphic functions with certain differential polynomials. As a consequence, a counterexample to the converse of the Bloch's principle is also given.

Abstract:Let l be a positive integer, be a constant, and ( ) be a function holomorphic in a domain D , all of whose zeros have multiplicity at most l , and let be a family of meromorphic functions defined in D . If, for every function , (a) all zeros of f are multiple, and ; (b) ; (c) all poles of f have multiplicity at least , then is normal in D . Also, we give an example to show that the number is sharp, and prove that the counterexample is unique in some sense.

Abstract:In this paper we generalize a result of Ye, Pang and Yang[12] on the normality of a family of holomorphic curves in $P^N(\mathbb{C})$. Further we obtain a normality criterion for family of meromorphic functions that partially share wandering holomorphic functions with their derivatives. We also devise a tractable representation of complex valued holomorphic functions from D as functions from D to $P^2(\mathbb{C})$ obtain a normality criterion that leads to a counterexample to the converse of Bloch's principle.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we prove that for a transcendental meromorphic function f(z) on the complex plane, the inequality T(r, f) < 6N (r, 1/(f2 f(k)−1)) + S(r, f) holds, where k is a positive integer. Moreover, we prove the following normality criterion: Let ℱ be a family of meromorphic functions on a domain D and let k be a positive integer. If for each ℱ ∈ ℱ, all zeros of ℱ are of multiplicity at least k, and f2 f(k) ≠ 1 for z ∈ D, then ℱ is normal in the domain D. At the same time we also show that the condition on multiple zeros of f in the normality criterion is necessary.

Abstract:In [Israel J. Math, 2014], Grahl and Nevo obtained a significant improvement for the well-known normality criterion of Montel. They proved that for a family of meromorphic functions $\mathcal F$ in a domain $D\subset \mathbb C,$ and for a positive constant $\epsilon$, if for each $f\in \mathcal F$ there exist meromorphic functions $a_f,b_f,c_f$ such that $f$ omits $a_f,b_f,c_f$ in $D$ and $$\min\{\rho(a_f(z),b_f(z)), \rho(b_f(z),c_f(z)), \rho(c_f(z),a_f(z))\}\geq \epsilon,$$ for all $z\in D$, then $\mathcal F$ is normal in $D$. Here, $\rho$ is the spherical metric in $\widehat{\mathbb C}$. In this paper, we establish the high-dimensional versions for the above result and for the following well-known result of Lappan: A meromorphic function $ f$ in the unit disc $\triangle:=\{z\in\mathbb C: |z|<1\}$ is normal if there are five distinct values $a_1,\dots,a_5$ such that $$\sup\{(1-|z|^2)\frac{ |f '(z)|}{1+|f(z)|^2}: z\in f^{-1}\{a_1,\dots,a_5\}\} < \infty.$$

On a question of Gary G. Gundersen concerning meromorphic functions sharing three distinct values IM and a fourth value CM

Abstract:In 1992, Gundersen (Complex Var. Elliptic Equ.20 (1992), no. 1-4, 99-106.) proposed the following famous open question: if two non-constant meromorphic functions share three values IM and share a fourth value CM, then do the functions necessarily share all four values CM? The open question is a long-standing question in the studies of the Nevanlinna$'$s value distribution theory of meromorphic functions, and has not been completely resolved by now. In this paper, we prove that if two distinct non-constant meromorphic functions $f$ and $g$ of finite order share $0,$ $1,$ $c$ IM and $\infty$ CM, where $c$ is a finite complex value such that $c\not\in\{0,1\},$ then $f$ and $g$ share $0,$ $1,$ $c,$ $\infty$ CM. Applying the main result obtained in this paper, we completely resolve a question proposed by Gary G. Gundersen on Page 458 of his paper (J. London Math. Soc. 20(1979), no. 2, 457-466.)concerning the nonexistence of two distinct non-constant meromorphic functions sharing three distinct values DM and a fourth value CM. The obtained result also improves the corresponding result on Pages 109-117 in (E. Mues, Bemerkungen zum vier-punkte-satz, Complex Methods on Partial Diferential Equations, 109-117, Math. Res. 53, Akademie-Verlag, Berlin, 1989.) concerning the nonexistence of two distinct non-constant entire functions that share three distinct finite values DM. Examples are provided to show that the main results obtained in this paper, in a sense, are best possible.

Abstract:In this paper, we extend a result of Schwick concerning normality and sharing values in one complex variable for families of holomorphic curves taking values in $\mathbb{P}^n$. We consider wandering moving hyperplanes (i.e., depending on the respective holomorphic curve in the family under consideration), and establish a sufficient condition of normality concerning shared hyperplanes.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the growth of meromorphic solutions of complex linear difference equations of certain types and derive some results, which improve the results of Chiang and Feng [On the Nevanlinna characteristic of f(z+η) and difference equations in the complex plane. Ramanujan J. 2008;16(1):105–129; On the growth of logarithmic differences, difference quotients and logarithmic derivatives of meromorphic functions. Trans Am Math Soc. 2009;361:3767–3791] and Chen [Growth and zeros of meromorphic solution of some linear difference equations. J Math Anal Appl. 2011;373:235–241]. Also in this paper, we consider the sharing value problems of entire functions with their difference operators and obtain a result which improves the result of Li, Yang and Yi [Entire functions sharing an entire function of smaller order with their shifts. Proc Jpn Acad. 89 (A) (2013), 34–39]. Moreover, we show by illustrating a number of examples that our results are best possible in certain senses.

Abstract:In this article, we prove two results on the value distribution of meromorphic functions. Using the theorem of Yamanoi, the first result gives a precise estimation of the relationship between the characteristic function of a meromorphic function and its k th derivative in a concise form. This result extends and improves some results of Shan, Singh, Gopalakrishna, Edrei, Weitsman, Yang, Wu and Wu, etc. The second result answers a conjecture posed by C. C. Yang. This conjecture turned to be false by a counter-example, but it will be true with an additional condition.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove a normal criteria for family of meromorphic functions. As an application of that result, we establish a uniqueness theorem for entire function concerning a conjecture of R. Bruck. The above uniqueness theorem is an improvement of a problem studied by L. Z. Yang et. al [14]. However, our method differs the method of L. Z. Yang et. al [14]. We mainly use normal family theory and combine it with Nevanlinna theory instead of using only the Nevanlinna theory as in [14].
