Abstract:We obtain a multidimensional Tauberian theorem for Laplace transforms of Gelfand-Shilov ultradistributions. The result is derived from a Laplace transform characterization of bounded sets in spaces of ultradistributions with supports in a convex acute cone of $\mathbb{R}^{n}$, also established here.

Abstract:Let (X, tau(1)) and (Y, tau(2)) be two Hausdorff locally convex spaces with continuous duals X, and Y', respectively, L (X, Y) be the space of all continuous linear operators from X into Y, K (X, Y) be the space of all compact operators of L (X, Y). Let WOT and UOT be the weak operator topology and uniform operator topology on K (X, Y), respectively. In this paper, we characterize a full-invariant property of K (X, Y); that is, if the sequence space X has the signed-weak gliding hump property, then each; lambda-multiplier WOT-convergent series Sigma(i) T-i in K(X, Y) must be X-multiplier convergent with respect to all topologies between WOT and UOT if and only if each continuous linear operator T: (X, tau(1)) --> or (lambda(beta), sigma(lambda(beta),lambda)) is compact. Abstract:In the first part we analyze space $\mathcal G^*(\mathbb R^{n}_+)$ and its dual through Laguerre expansions when these spaces correspond to a general sequence $\{M_p\}_{p\in\mathbb N_0}$, where $^*$ is a common notation for the Beurling and Roumieu cases of spaces. In the second part we are solving equation of the form $Lu=f,\; L=\sum_{j=1}^ka_jA_j^{h_j}+cE^{d}_y+bP(x,D_x),$ where $f$ belongs to the tensor product of ultradistribution spaces over compact manifolds without boundaries as well as ultradistribution spaces on $\mathbb R^n_+$ and $\mathbb R^m$; $A_j, j=1,...,k$, $E_y$ and $P(x,D_x)$ are operators whose eigenfunctions form orthonormal basis of corresponding $L^2-$space. The sequence space representation of solutions enable us to study the solvability and the hypoellipticity in the specified spaces of ultradistributions.

Abstract:We study boundary values of harmonic functions in spaces of quasianalytic functionals and spaces of ultradistributions of non-quasianalytic type. As an application, we provide a new approach to Hörmander's support theorem for quasianalytic functionals. Our main technical tool is a description of ultradifferentiable functions by almost harmonic functions, a concept that we introduce in this article. We work in the setting of ultradifferentiable classes defined via weight matrices. In particular, our results simultaneously apply to the two standard classes defined via weight sequences and via weight functions.

Abstract:Multidimensional noncommutative Laplace transforms over octonions are studied. Theorems about direct and inverse transforms and other properties of the Laplace transforms over the Cayley-Dickson algebras are proved. Applications to partial differential equations including that of elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic type are investigated. Moreover, partial differential equations of higher order with real and complex coefficients and with variable coefficients with or without boundary conditions are considered.

Abstract:We introduce and study a new class of translation-modulation invariant Banach spaces of ultradistributions. These spaces show stability under Fourier transform and tensor products; furthermore, they have a natural Banach convolution module structure over a certain associated Beurling algebra, as well as a Banach multiplication module structure over an associated Wiener-Beurling algebra. We also investigate a new class of modulation spaces, the Banach spaces of ultradistributions $\mathcal{M}^F$ on $\mathbb{R}^{d}$, associated to translation-modulation invariant Banach spaces of ultradistributions $F$ on $\mathbb{R}^{2d}$.

Abstract:Let $x : M \to E^m$ be an isometric immersion of a Riemannian manifold $M$ into a Euclidean $m$-space. Denote by $\Delta$ the Laplace operator of $M$. Then $\Delta$ gives rise to a differentiable map $L :M \to E^m$, called the Laplace map, defined by $L(p)=(\Delta x)(p)$, $p\in M$. We call $L(M)$ the Laplace image, and the transformation $L :M \to L(M)$ from $M$ onto its Laplace image $L(M)$ the {\it Laplace transformation}. In this monograph, we provide a fundamental study of the Laplace transformations of Euclidean submanifolds.

Abstract:We define and characterize ultradifferentiable functions and their corresponding ultradistributions on $\RR^d_+$ using iterates of the Laguerre operator. The characterization is based on decay or growth conditions of the coefficients in their Laguerre series expansion. We apply our results to establish an isomorphism between subspaces of Pilipović spaces on $\RR^d$, and the spaces of ultradifferentiable functions on $\RR^d_+$.

Abstract:Let $L$ be the distinguished Laplacian on the Iwasawa $AN$ group associated with a semisimple Lie group $G$. Assume $F$ is a Borel function on $\mathbb{R}^+$. We give a condition on $F$ such that the kernels of the functions $F(L)$ are uniformly bounded. This condition involves the decay of $F$ only and not its derivatives. By a known correspondence, this implies pointwise estimates for a wide range of functions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on symmetric spaces. In particular, when $G$ is of real rank one and $F(x)={\rm e}^{it\sqrt x}\psi(\sqrt x)$, our bounds are sharp.

Abstract:Compiling essential results for non-quasianalytic ultradistribution spaces and Colombeau versions of generalized ultradistribution algebras, we analyze strong $B$- and strong $R$-association of a generalized ultradistribution $[(f_\varepsilon)]$. The strong association of $[(f_\varepsilon)]$ to a Komatsu-type ultradistribution $T$, with additional assumption on regularity of $[(f_\varepsilon)]$ of Beurling, respectively, Roumieu type, implies that $T$ is an ultradifferentiable function of Beurling, Roumieu type, respectively. We demonstrate that, under suitable conditions on regularity, a weakly negligible net $(g_\varepsilon)_{\varepsilon\in(0,1)}$ (meaning that the net of complex numbers $(\int g_\varepsilon\phi dx)_{\varepsilon\in(0,1)}$ is Beurling, respectively, Roumieu negligible for every ultradifferentiable function $\phi$ in the corresponding test space), is a negligible net in the sense of generalized ultradistributions. Furthermore, we prove that a translation invariant generalized ultradistribution $g$ is equal to a generalized constant in both types of generalized ultradistribution algebras.

Abstract:We study complex distribution spaces given over a bounded Lipschitz domain $\Omega$ and associated with an elliptic differential operator $A$ with $C^{\infty}$-coefficients on $\overline{\Omega}$. If $X$ and $Y$ are quasi-Banach distribution spaces over $\Omega$, then the space $X(A,Y)$ under study consists of all distributions $u\in X$ such that $Au\in Y$ and is endowed with the graph quasi-norm. Assuming $X$ to be an arbitrary Besov space or Triebel--Lizorkin space over $\Omega$, we find sufficient conditions for $Y$ under which the interpolation between the spaces $X(A,Y)$ preserves their structure, these spaces are separable, and the set $C^{\infty}(\overline{\Omega})$ is dense in them. We then explicitly describe the spaces obtained by the real, complex, and $\pm$ interpolation between the spaces under study. We apply these spaces to general elliptic problems with rough boundary data by proving the Fredholm property for bounded operators induced by these problems and defined on certain spaces $X(A,Y)$. Specifically, we establish the maximal regularity of solutions to some elliptic problems with Gaussian white noise in boundary conditions. Quasi-Banach distribution spaces are involved in the concept of $X(A,Y)$ for the first time. Our results are new even for inner product Sobolev spaces of integer-valued order.

Abstract:It is shown that if the initial condition of the Cauchy problem for the diffusion equation on a general infinite countable ultrametric space is spherically symmetric with respect to some point, then this problem has an exact analytical solution. A general solution of this problem is presented for pure ultrametric diffusion, as well as for ultrametric diffusion with a reaction sink concentrated at the center of spherical symmetry. Conditions on the ultrametric and the distribution of the number of states in ultrametric spheres are found that lead at large times to the asymptotic behavior of the solutions obtained in the form of a power law modulated by a bounded function that is log-periodic under some additional conditions.

Abstract:Let $(X,d)$ be a locally compact separable ultrametric space. We assume that $(X,d)$ is proper, that is, any closed ball $B$ in $X$ is a compact set. Given a measure $m$ on $X$ and a function $C(B)$ defined on the set of balls (the choice function), we define the hierarchical Laplacian $L_C$ which is closely related to the concept of the hierarchical lattice of F.J. Dyson. $L_C$ is a non-negative definite, self-adjoint operator in $L^2(X,m)$. We address in this paper to the following question: How general can be the spectrum $\mathsf{Spec}(L_C)$ as a subset of the non-negative reals? When $(X,d)$ is compact, $\mathsf{Spec}(L_C)$ is an increasing sequence of eigenvalues of finite multiplicity which contains $0$. Assuming that $(X,d)$ is not compact we show that, under some natural conditions concerning the structure of the hierarchical lattice (= the tree of $d$-balls), any given closed subset $S$ of $[0,\infty)$, which contains $0$ as an accumulation point and is unbounded if $X$ is non-discrete, may appear as $\mathsf{Spec}(L_C)$ for some appropriately chosen function $C(B)$. The operator $-L_C$ extends to $L^q(X,m)$, $0 < q < \infty$, as Markov generator and its spectrum does not depend on $q$. As an example, we consider the operator $\mathfrak{D}^{\alpha}$ of fractional derivative defined on the field $\mathbb{Q}_p$ of $p$-adic numbers.

Approximating Diffusion on Finite Multi-Topology Systems Using Ultrametrics

Abstract:Motivated by multi-topology building and city model data, first a lossless representation of multiple $T_0$-topologies on a given finite set by a vertex-edge-weighted graph is given, and the subdominant ultrametric of the associated weighted graph distance matrix is proposed as an index structure for these data. This is applied in a heuristic parallel topological sort algorithm for edge-weighted directed acyclic graphs. Such structured data are of interest in simulation of processes like heat flows on building or city models on distributed processors. With this in view, the bulk of this article calculates the spectra of certain unbounded self-adjoint $p$-adic Laplacian operators on the $L^2$-spaces of a compact open subdomain of the $p$-adic number field associated with a finite graph $G$ with respect to the restricted Haar measure. as well as to a Radon measure coming from an ultrametric on the vertices of $G$ with the help of $p$-adic polynomial interpolation. In the end, error bounds are given for the solutions of the corresponding heat equations by finite approximations of such operators.

The Laplace and Leray transforms on some (weakly) convex domains in $\mathbb{C}^2$

Abstract:The space of Laplace transforms of holomorphic Hardy-space functions have been characterized as weighted Bergman spaces of entire functions in two cases: that of planar convex domains (Lutsenko--Yumulmukhametov, 1991), and that of strongly convex domains in higher dimensions (Lindholm, 2002). In this paper, we establish such a Paley--Weiner result for a class of (weakly) convex Reinhardt domains in $\mathbb{C}^2$ that are well-modelled by the so-called egg domains. We consider Hardy spaces on these domains with respect to a canonical choice of boundary Monge--Ampere measure. This class of domains was introduced by Barrett--Lanzani (2009) to study the $L^2$-boundedness of the Leray transform in the absence of either strongly convexity or $\mathcal{C}^2$-regularity. The boundedness of the Leray transform plays a crucial role in understanding the image of the Laplace transform. As a supplementary result, we expand the known class of convex Reinhardt domains for which the Leray transform is $L^2$-bounded (with respect to the aforementioned choice of boundary measure). Finally, we also produce an example to show that the Lutsenko--Yumulmukhametov result cannot be expected to generalize to all convex domains in higher dimensions.

Abstract:The paper studies several properties of Laplace hyperfunctions introduced by H.~Komatsu in the one dimensional case and by the authors in the higher dimensional cases from the viewpoint of Čech-Dolbeault cohomology theory, which enables us, for example, to construct the Laplace transformation and its inverse in a simple way. We also give some applications to a system of PDEs with constant coefficients.
