Abstract:In this work, we investigate the complete spectroscopy of the mesons, with a special focus on the consideration of the unquenched effects. To account for such effects, we employ the modified Godfrey–Isgur model and introduce a screening potential. The resulting mass spectrum of the concerned higher states is then presented, showing significant deviations after considering the unquenched effects. This emphasizes the importance of considering the unquenched effects when studying of the higher mesons. Furthermore, we determine the corresponding spatial wave functions of these mesons, which have practical applications in subsequent studies of their decays. These decays include two-body Okuba–Zweig–Iizuka allowed strong decays, dipion transitions between mesons, radiative decays, and some typical weak decays. With the ongoing high-luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider, we expect the discovery of additional states in the near future. The knowledge gained from the mass spectrum and the different decay modes will undoubtedly provide valuable insights for future experimental explorations of these higher mesons.

Abstract:The discovery of hadronic states beyond the conventional two-quark meson and three-quark baryon picture in the last two decades is one of the most amazing accomplishments in fundamental physics research. We review the experimental progress on the study of the exotic states (also known as the XYZ particles) beyond the conventional quark model. We give a general review and then focus on the lineshape measurement of the X(3872), observation of new decay modes of the Y(4230) and new vector charmoniumlike states Y(4500) and Y(4790), evidence for the neutral isospin partners of the charged charmoniumlike $Z_{cs}$ states, discoveries of the tetraquark state candidates with four different flavours or two-pairs of charm-anticharm quarks and the pentaquark states.

Abstract:In the past few years the field of hadron spectroscopy has seen renewed interest due to the pubblication, initially mostly from B-Factories, of evidences of states that do not match regular spectroscopy, but are rather candidates for bound states with additional quarks or gluons. A huge effort in understanding the nature of this new states and in building a new spectroscopy is ongoing. This report reviews the experimental and theoretical state of the art on heavy quarkonium exotic spectroscopy, with particular attention on the steps towards a global picture.

Abstract:By splitting the real line into intervals of unit length a doubly infinite integral of the form $\Int F(q^x)\,dx,\; 0<q<1$, can clearly be expressed as $\Integ \Sum F(q^{x+n})\,dx$, provided $F$ satisfies the appropriate conditions. This simple idea is used to prove Ramanujan's integral analogues of his \ph{1}{1} sum and give a new proof of Askey and Roy's extention of it. Integral analogues of the well-poised \ph{2}{2} sum as well as the very-well-poised \ph{6}{6} sum are also found in a straightforward manner. An extension to a very-well-poised and balanced \ph{8}{8} series is also given. A direct proof of a recent q-beta integral of Ismail and Masson is given.

Abstract:Stimulated by the observation of the $X(6900)$ from LHCb in 2020 and the recent results from CMS and ATLAS in the di-$J/\psi$ invariant mass spectrum, in this work we systemically study all possible configurations for the ground fully heavy tetraquark states in constituent quark model. By our calculation, we present their spectroscopy behaviors like binding energy, lowest meson-meson thresholds, specific wave function, magnetic moment, transition magnetic moment, radiative decay width, rearrangement strong width ratio, internal mass contributions, relative lengths between (anti)quarks, and the spatial distribution of four valence (anti)quarks. We cannot find stable S-wave state for the fully heavy tetraquark system. We hope that our results are valuable to further explore fully heavy tetraquark states in experiment.

Bond-Propagation Algorithm for Thermodynamic Functions in General 2D Ising Models

Abstract:Recently, we developed and implemented the bond propagation algorithm for calculating the partition function and correlation functions of random bond Ising models in two dimensions. The algorithm is the fastest available for calculating these quantities near the percolation threshold. In this paper, we show how to extend the bond propagation algorithm to directly calculate thermodynamic functions by applying the algorithm to derivatives of the partition function, and we derive explicit expressions for this transformation. We also discuss variations of the original bond propagation procedure within the larger context of Y-Delta-Y-reducibility and discuss the relation of this class of algorithm to other algorithms developed for Ising systems. We conclude with a discussion on the outlook for applying similar algorithms to other models.

Abstract:A lot of exotic hadrons were reported in the past twenty years, which bring us the renaissance of the hadron spectroscopy. Most of them can be understood as hadronic molecules, whose interactions are mainly due to the exchange of light mesons, and specifically, light vector mesons through the coupled-channel unitary approach within the local hidden-gauge formalism. It is still controversial whether the interaction arising from the exchange of heavy mesons is capable of forming hadronic molecules. We apply the coupled-channel unitary approach to study the fully-heavy $b \bar b c \bar c$ system, where the exchanged mesons can only be the fully-heavy vector mesons $J/\psi$, $B_c^*$, and $\Upsilon$. Especially, the $J/\psi$ meson is much lighter than the $B_c^{(*)}$ mesons, so the present study can be taken as a general investigation on the question whether a lower-mass fully-heavy meson is able to bind two higher-mass fully-heavy hadrons. Our results suggest the existence of the fully-heavy hadronic molecules $|B_c^{+} B_c^{-}; J^{PC}=0^{++} \rangle$, $|B_c^{*+} B_c^{-} - c.c.; J^{PC}=1^{+-} \rangle$, and $|B_c^{*+} B_c^{*-}; J^{PC}=2^{++} \rangle$ as well as the possible existence of $|B_c^{*+} B_c^{-} + c.c.; J^{PC}=1^{++} \rangle$. These states are potentially to be observed in the $\mu^+ \mu^- J/\psi$ and $\mu^+ \mu^- \Upsilon$ channels in future ATLAS, CMS, and LHCb experiments.

Abstract:In this work, we investigate the semileptonic decays of meson to , and X (3872) within the framework of covariant light-front quark model (CLFQM). We combine the helicity amplitudes via the corresponding form factors to obtain the branching ratios of the semileptonic decays , and , with . In view of the anomaly released by the LHCb collaboration, it is necessary to systematically calculate the ratios with , which are helpful for checking the lepton flavor universality (LFU). We also take into account another two physical observables, the longitudinal polarization fraction and the forward–backward asymmetry , which can provide new clues for understanding the anomaly. Such theoretical predictions are necessary and interesting, and can be tested in future LHCb experiments.

Abstract:The CMS Collaboration has performed many studies in the field of heavy flavor spectroscopy. In this report, recent studies on exotic resonances in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV at CMS are presented. For the exotic hadrons, these results include the first evidence for X(3872) in heavy-ion collisions and three new structures in $J/\psi J/\psi$ mass spectrum. Beside the exotic hadrons, we also found new decay channels in conventional beauty hadrons, including $B^{0}_{s}\rightarrow\psi(2S)K^{0}_{S}$, $\Lambda_{b}^{0}\rightarrow J/\psi\Xi^{-}K^{+} $, $B^{0} \rightarrow \psi(2S)K^{0}_{S}\pi^{+} \pi^{-}$, and $\Xi_{b}^{-} \rightarrow \psi(2S)\Xi^{-}$.

Abstract:Enormous progress in physics enriched our knowledge about the particles which build matter. Among them there are mesons, to which this thesis is entirely devoted. The overwhelming majority of mesons is made of `conventional' $q\bar{q}$ pairs, but nowadays there is mounting evidence for `non-conventional' mesons, such as tetraquarks, glueballs, hybrids, and molecules. The main aim of this thesis is to understand the nature of some scalar and vector mesonic states which still remain puzzling. In this thesis we investigate two nonets of $q\bar{q}$ excited vector mesons. Within an effective QFT model we evaluate various decay channels of these states and compare the results with experimental data from PDG. Moreover, we make predictions for a not-yet observed $s\bar{s}$ state in $1$ $^3D_1$ nonet. Some non-conventional mesons can be understood by the mechanism of dynamical generation. We show that the inclusion of a single conventional $q\bar{q}$ seed in the relativistic QFT Lagrangian may cause the appearance of an additional associated state as a dynamically generated companion pole. Along this line, we show that light scalar kaon $K^*_0(700)$ emerges as a companion pole of the $q\bar{q}$ meson $K_0^*(1430)$. Moreover, we show that the enigmatic resonance $X(3872)$ in the charmonium sector can be interpreted as the (virtual) companion pole of the $c\bar{c}$ state $\chi_{c1}(2P)$. Then, we study the $c\bar{c}$ meson $\psi(4040)$. We show that an additional companion pole appears on the complex plane. At first sight one may identify it with the enhancement $Y(4008)$ observed by the Belle Collaboration. A detailed analysis reveals that different mechanism is responsible for the creation of $Y(4008)$. Hence, the bump associated with $Y(4008)$ should not be interpreted as an independent resonance, but rather as a manifestation of the strong coupling of $\psi(4040)$ to the $D^*D$ channel.

Abstract:In this work, we predict the spectroscopy behavior of these light unflavored vector mesons with masses at the range of 2.4∼3 GeV, which are still missing in the experiment. By presenting their mass spectrum and studying their two-body Okubo-Zweig-lizuka allowed decay widths, we discuss the possible experimental evidences of these discussed states combining with the present experimental data. Especially, we strongly suggest that our experimental colleagues carry out the exploration of these higher states via the e+e- annihilation into light mesons. It is obvious that BESIII and Belle II will be potential experiments to achieve this target.

Abstract:Recently, the LHCb Collaboration reported a near-threshold enhancement X(3960) in the Ds+Ds− invariant mass distribution. We show that the data can be well described by either a bound or a virtual state below the Ds+Ds− threshold. The mass given by the pole position is ( 3928±3 ) MeV. Using this mass and the existing information on the X(3872) and Zc(3900) resonances, a complete spectrum of the S -wave hadronic molecules formed by a pair of ground state charmed and anticharmed mesons is established. Thus, pole positions of the partners of the X(3872) , Zc(3900) , and the newly observed Ds+Ds− state are predicted. Abstract: Dyson-Schwinger equation (DSE) studies show that the b-quark mass-function is approximately constant, and that this is true to a lesser extent for the c-quark. These observations provide the basis for a study of the leptonic and semileptonic decays of heavy pseudoscalar mesons using a ``heavy-quark'' limit of the DSEs. When exact, this limit reduces the number of independent form factors. Semileptonic decays with light mesons in the final state are also accessible because the DSEs provide a description of light-quark propagation characteristics and light-meson structure. A description of B-meson decays is straightforward, however, the study of decays involving the D-meson indicates that c-quark mass-corrections are quantitatively important.
