Abstract:Let $k$ be a perfect field of virtual cohomological dimension $\leq 2$. Let $G$ be a connected linear algebraic group over $k$ such that $G^{sc}$ satisfies a Hasse principle over $k$. Let $X$ be a principal homogeneous space under $G$ over $k$. We show that if $X$ admits a zero cycle of degree one, then $X$ has a $k$-rational point.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
### The problems the paper attempts to solve The paper aims to solve the following problems: Let \( k \) be a perfect field and its virtual cohomological dimension be no more than 2 (virtual cohomological dimension ≤ 2). Let \( G \) be a connected linear algebraic group defined over \( k \), and \( G_{\text{sc}} \) satisfies the Hasse principle over \( k \). Let \( X \) be a principal homogeneous space of \( G \) over \( k \). If \( X \) has a zero cycle of degree one, then does \( X \) have a \( k \)-rational point? Expressed in a more formal language, the problem can be restated as: **Problem Q**: Let \( k \) be a field, and \( G \) be a connected linear algebraic group defined over \( k \). Let \( X \) be a principal homogeneous space of \( G \) over \( k \). Suppose \( X \) has a zero cycle of degree one, then does \( X \) have a \( k \)-rational point? Specifically, the author attempts to prove that when \( k \) is a perfect field with a virtual cohomological dimension of no more than 2 and \( G_{\text{sc}} \) satisfies the Hasse principle over \( k \), the answer to the above problem is yes. ### Main results The main results of the paper are as follows: **Theorem 0.1**: Let \( k \) be a perfect field with a virtual cohomological dimension of no more than 2. Let \( \{L_i\}_{1 \leq i \leq m} \) be a set of finite extensions of \( k \) such that the greatest common divisor of the degrees of these extensions is 1. Let \( G \) be a connected linear algebraic group defined over \( k \). If \( G_{\text{sc}} \) satisfies the Hasse principle over \( k \), then the canonical map \[ H^1(k, G) \to \prod_{i = 1}^m H^1(L_i, G) \] has a trivial kernel. **Corollary 0.2**: Let \( k \) be a perfect field with a virtual cohomological dimension of no more than 2. Let \( \{L_i\}_{1 \leq i \leq m} \) be a set of finite extensions of \( k \) such that the greatest common divisor of the degrees of these extensions is 1. Let \( G \) be a connected linear algebraic group defined over \( k \). If the simple factors of \( G_{\text{sc}} \) are of classical type, \( F_4 \) type or \( G_2 \) type, then the canonical map \[ H^1(k, G) \to \prod_{i = 1}^m H^1(L_i, G) \] is injective. Through these results, the author extends Sansuc's research on the Hasse principle over number fields and proves that under specific conditions, the existence of a zero cycle of degree one does indeed guarantee the existence of a rational point in the principal homogeneous space.
