Abstract:We show a correspondence between the set of all G-invariant projectively flat connections on a homogeneous apace $M=G/K$, and the one of all {G}^~-invariant flat connections on a homogeneous space {M}^~={G}^~/K, where {G}^~ is a central extension of G.

Abstract:We study the moduli space of flat $GL(1|1)$-connections on a punctured surface from the point of view of graph connections. To each fatgraph, a system of coordinates is assigned, which involves two bosonic and two fermionic variables per edge, subject to certain relations. In the case of trivalent graphs, we provide a closed explicit formula for the Whitehead moves. In addition, we discuss the invariant Poisson bracket.

Abstract:We pursuit the research line proposed in \cite{YZ-Gflat} about the classification of Hermitian manifolds whose $s$-Gauduchon connection $\nabla^s =(1-\frac{s}{2})\nabla^c + \frac{s}{2}\nabla^b$ is flat, where $s \in \mathbb{R}$ and $\nabla^c$ and $\nabla^b$ are the Chern and the Bismut connections, respectively. We focus on Lie groups equipped with a left invariant Hermitian structure. Such spaces provide an important class of Hermitian manifolds in various contexts and are often a valuable vehicle for testing new phenomena in complex and Hermitian geometry. More precisely, we consider a connected $2n$-dimensional Lie group $G$ equipped with a left-invariant complex structure $J$ and a left-invariant compatible metric $g$ and we assume that its connection $\nabla^s$ is flat. Our main result states that if either $n$=2 or there exits a $\nabla^s$-parallel left invariant frame on $G$, then $g$ must be K\"ahler. This result demonstrates rigidity properties of some complete Hermitian manifolds with $\nabla^s$-flat Hermitian metrics.
Invariants of flat connections on 4-manifolds from Hopf group-algebras

Abstract:For a given group $G$, we construct an invariant of flat $G$-connections on 4-manifolds from a finite type involutory quasitriangular Hopf $G$-algebra. Hopf $G$-algebras are generalizations of Hopf algebras, equipped with gradings by $G$. In our construction, we color the dotted components of a Kirby diagram with elements of $G$ and employ the Hennings-type procedure. When $G$ is finite, we also define an invariant of 4-manifolds by summing the invariants over all flat $G$-connections.

Abstract:We study the moduli space of $G_2$-instantons on (projectively) flat bundles over torsion-free $G_2$-orbifolds. We prove that the moduli space is compact and smooth at the irreducible locus after adding small and generic holonomy perturbations. Consequently, we define an integer-valued invariant that is invariant under $C^0$-deformation of torsion-free $G_2$-structures. We compute this invariant for some orbifolds that arise in Joyce's construction of compact $G_2$-manifolds

Abstract:Inspired by considerations in $M$-theory, we prove the equivalence between the moduli spaces of (suitably complexified) torsion free $G_{2}$-structures on 7-manifolds which are families of hyperKähler ALE 4-manifolds fibered over compact flat 3-manifolds $T^{3}/K$ and certain moduli spaces of flat $G^{\mathbb{C}}_{ADE}$ connections on $T^{3}/K$.

Abstract:Let (M n ,g) be a n-dimensional compact hermitian manifold, with n > 2.(M, g) will be called projectively flat, if its curvature matrix is of the form 0 = a/ n , where a is a (1, l)-form.Note that any metric conformal to g would also be projectively flat.In §1, we shall classify such manifolds, and in §2, we will give an application which may be considered as a generalization to higher dimensions of the Bogomolov's Theorem on VIIQ surfaces.First of all, let us correct an error in our previous paper [L-Y-Z].We found this error after the paper was in print.On page 220, the vanishing of c^ and C2 does not imply that the Hermitian-Einstein metric h is flat, but only projectively flat, i.e., © = 0/2-So the argument there is incomplete.However, this gap can be easily fixed by applying the results of P. Abstract:We compute all the simply connected homogeneous and infinitesimally homogeneous surfaces admitting one or more invariant affine connections. We find exactly six non equivalent simply connected homogeneous surfaces admitting more than one invariant connections and four classes of simply connected homogeneous surfaces admitting exactly one invariant connection.

Abstract:In 2018, Vladimir Fock and the author introduced a geometric structure on surfaces, called higher complex structure, whose moduli space shares several properties with Hitchin's component. In this paper, we establish various links between flat connections and higher complex structures. In particular, we study a certain class of connections on a bundle equipped with a line subbundle $L$, which we call $L$-parabolic. The curvature of these connections is of rank 1. A certain family of $L$-parabolic connections is parametrized by the data of a higher complex structure and a cotangent variation. The family of connections being flat implies the compatibility condition of the cotangent variation. Higher diffeomorphisms are realized by the gauge transformation induced by changing $L$. Constructing flat families of connections of this kind is linked to Toda integrable systems.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a complete variety over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic zero, equipped with an action of an algebraic group $G$. Let $H$ be a reductive group. We study the notion of $G$-connection on a principal $H$-bundle. We give necessary and sufficient criteria for the existence of $G$-connections extending the Atiyah-Weil type criterion for holomorphic connections obtained by Azad and Biswas. We also establish a relationship between the existence of $G$-connection and equivariant structure on a principal $H$-bundle, under the assumption that $G$ is semisimple and simply connected. These results have been obtained by Biswas et al. when the underlying variety is smooth.

Abstract:Given a Hermitian manifold (Mn, g), the Gauduchon connections are the one parameter family of Hermitian connections joining the Chern connection and the Bismut connection. We will call ${\nabla ^s} = \left( {1 - \frac{s}{2}} \right){\nabla ^c} + \frac{s}{2}{\nabla ^b}$ the s-Gauduchon connection of M, where ∇c and ∇b are respectively the Chern and Bismut connections. It is natural to ask when a compact Hermitian manifold could admit a flat s-Gauduchon connection. This is related to a question asked by Yau. The cases with s = 0 (a flat Chern connection) or s = 2 (a flat Bismut connection) are classified respectively by Boothby in the 1950s or by the authors in a recent joint work with Q. Wang. In this article, we observe that if either $s \geqslant 4 + 2\sqrt 3 \approx 7.46$ or $s \leqslant 4 - 2\sqrt 3 \approx 0.54$ and s ≠ 0, then g is Kähler. We also show that, when n = 2, g is always Kähler unless s = 2. Therefore non-Kähler compact Gauduchon flat surfaces are exactly isosceles Hopf surfaces.

Abstract:We investigate a conjecture due to Haefliger and Thurston in the context of foliated manifold bundles. In this context, Haefliger-Thurston's conjecture predicts that every $M$-bundle over a manifold $B$ where $\text{dim}(B)\leq \text{dim}(M)$ is cobordant to a flat $M$-bundle. In particular, we study the bordism class of flat $M$-bundles over low dimensional manifolds, comparing a finite dimensional Lie group $G$ with $\text{Diff}_0(G)$ and localizing the holonomy of flat M-bundles to be supported in a ball.

Abstract:Given a simple, simply connected, complex algebraic group G , a flat projective connection on the bundle of non-abelian theta functions on the moduli space of semistable parabolic G -bundles over any family of smooth projective curves with marked points was constructed by the authors in an earlier paper. Here, it is shown that the identification between the bundle of non-abelian theta functions and the bundle of WZW conformal blocks is flat with respect to this connection and the one constructed by Tsuchiya–Ueno–Yamada. As an application, we give a geometric construction of the Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov connection on the trivial bundle over the configuration space of points in the projective line whose typical fiber is the space of invariants of tensor product of representations.

Left-invariant Hermitian connections on Lie groups with almost Hermitian structures

Abstract:Left-invariant Hermitian and Gauduchon connections are studied on an arbitrary Lie group $G$ equipped with an arbitrary left-invariant almost Hermitian structure $(\langle\cdot,\cdot\rangle,J)$. The space of left-invariant Hermitian connections is shown to be in one-to-one correspondence with the space $\wedge^{(1,1)}\mathfrak{g}^\ast\otimes \mathfrak{g}$ of left-invariant 2-forms of type (1,1) (with respect to $J$) with values in $\mathfrak{g}:=\mbox{Lie}(G)$. Explicit formulas are obtained for the torsion components of every Hermitian and Gauduchon connection with respect to a convenient choice of left-invariant frame on $G$. The curvature of Gauduchon connections is studied for the special case $G=H\times A$, where $H$ is an arbitrary $n$-dimensional Lie group, $A$ is an arbitrary $n$-dimensional abelian Lie group, and the almost complex structure is totally real with respect to $\mathfrak{h}:=\mbox{Lie}(H)$. When $H$ is compact, it is shown that $H\times A$ admits a left-invariant (strictly) almost Hermitian structure $(\langle\cdot,\cdot\rangle,J)$ such that the Gauduchon connection corresponding to the Strominger (or Bismut) connection in the integrable case is precisely the trivial left-invariant connection and, in addition, has totally skew-symmetric torsion. The almost Hermitian structure $(\langle\cdot,\cdot\rangle,J)$ on $H\times A$ is shown to satisfy the \textit{strong Kähler with torsion} condition. Furthermore, the affine line of Gauduchon connections on $H\times A$ with the aforementioned almost Hermitian structure is also shown to contain a (nontrivial) flat connection.
