Abstract:Modern Physics Letters A, Ahead of Print. In this paper, we investigate the quantum entanglement induced by phase-space noncommutativity. Both the position–position and momentum–momentum noncommutativity are incorporated to study the entanglement properties of coordinate and momentum degrees of freedom under the shade of oscillators in noncommutative space. Exact solutions for the systems are obtained after the model is re-expressed in terms of canonical variables, by performing a particular Bopp's shift to the noncommuting degrees of freedom. It is shown that the bipartite Gaussian state for an isotropic oscillator is always separable. To extend our study for the time-dependent system, we allow arbitrary time dependency on parameters. The time-dependent isotropic oscillator is solved with the Lewis–Riesenfeld invariant method. It turns out that even for arbitrary time-dependent scenarios, the separability property does not alter. We extend our study to the anisotropic oscillator, which provides an entangled state even for time-independent parameters. The Wigner quasi-probability distribution is constructed for a bipartite Gaussian state. The noise matrix (covariance matrix) is explicitly studied with the help of Wigner distribution. Simon's separability criterion (generalized Peres–Horodecki criterion) has been employed to find the unique function of the (mass and frequency) parameters, for which the bipartite states are separable. In particular, we show that the mere inclusion of non-commutativity of phase-space is not sufficient to generate the entanglement, rather anisotropy is important at the same footing. We explore the experimental viability of our result through the computation of extractable work for the current situation.

Bosonisation and Soldering of Dual Symmetries in Two and Three Dimensions

Abstract:We develop a technique that solders the dual aspects of some symmetry following from the bosonisation of two distinct fermionic models, thereby leading to new results which cannot be otherwise obtained. Exploiting this technique, the two dimensional chiral determinants with opposite chirality are soldered to reproduce either the usual gauge invariant expression leading to the Schwinger model or, alternatively, the Thirring model. Likewise, two apparently independent three dimensional massive Thirring models with same coupling but opposite mass signatures, in the long wavelegth limit, combine by the process of bosonisation and soldering to yield an effective massive Maxwell theory. The current bosonisation formulas are given, both in the original independent formulation as well as the effective theory, and shown to yield consistent results for the correlation functions. Similar features also hold for quantum electrodynamics in three dimensions.

Abstract:It is observed that retaining the triplet correlation to derive the equation of pair correlation function from the first two members of BBGKY hierarchy, modifies the structure of the equation and the pair correlation function significantly. This equation may be used to explore the thermodynamic properties of the weakly coupled inhomogeneous plasma systems. This study may also be relevant for homogeneous plasmas.

Two-fermion negativity and confinement in the Schwinger model

Abstract:We consider the fermionic (logarithmic) negativity between two fermionic modes in the Schwinger model. Recent results pointed out that fermionic systems can exhibit stronger entanglement than bosonic systems, exhibiting a negativity that decays only algebraically. The Schwinger model is described by fermionic excitations at short distances, while its asymptotic spectrum is the one of a bosonic theory. We show that the two-mode negativity detects this confining, fermion-to-boson transition, shifting from an algebraic decay to an exponential decay at distances of the order of the de Broglie wavelength of the first excited state. We derive analytical expressions in the massless Schwinger model and confront them with tensor network simulations. We also perform tensor network simulations in the massive model, which is not solvable analytically, and close to the Ising quantum critical point of the Schwinger model, where we show that the negativity behaves as its bosonic counterpart. https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.109.L071501 Published by the American Physical Society under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Abstract:In the paper ’A New Approach to Quantum Gravity’[1], we suggest a new approach to quantum gravity. Using this theory, we can study the noncommutative gravitational field in momentum space. In this paper, we obtain the general form of the Klein-Gordon equation in noncommutative gravitational field. Then we find the symmetry associated with noncommutative gravity from the Klein-Gordon equation. We study black hole in momentum space and conclude that the event horizon of black holes is formed by the dipoles in momentum space with limit state.

Abstract:We develop a technique that solders the dual aspects of some symmetry. Using this technique it is possible to combine two theories with such symmetries to yield a new effective theory. Some applications in two and three dimensional bosonisation are discussed. In particular, it is shown that two apparently independent three dimensional massive Thirring models with same coupling but opposite mass signatures, in the long wavelegth limit, combine by the process of bosonisation and soldering to yield an effective massive Maxwell theory. Similar features also hold for quantum electrodynamics in three dimensions. We also provide a systematic derivation of duality symmetric actions and show that the soldering mechanism leads to a master action which is duality invariant under a bigger set of symmetries than is usually envisaged. The concept of duality swapping is introduced and its implications are analysed. The example of electromagnetic duality is discussed in details.

Abstract:Modern Physics Letters A, Ahead of Print. In noncommutative phase space (NCPS), we investigate the pair creation rate for the problem of scalar and spinorial particles emerging from a vacuum under the influence of uniform external electromagnetic fields using the Schwinger formal technique. It is demonstrated that under specific conditions, where the speed of light c approaches the Fermi velocity [math] and [math] (with [math] representing the cyclotron frequency), the behavior of the Dirac oscillator problem in a uniform electromagnetic field within NCPS is akin to the monolayer graphene problem in NCPS. In addition, the production probability per unit volume per unit time is discussed, along with the limits of parameter deformations.

Abstract:We consider the bosonized version of the Chiral Schwinger model in ( 1 + 1 ) dimension with the generalized Faddeevian anomaly, which does not have the Lorentz covariance structure and does not have gauge invariance either. BRST embedding is made possible after making it gauge invariant by the incorporation of Wess-Zumino field. For this ( 1 + 1 ) dimensional anomalous model, we use the Bonora-Tonin superfield formalism to construct the nilpotent and absolutely anti-commuting anti-BRST as well as anti-co-BRST symmetry transformations. We use the gauge-invariant constraints on the superfields defined onto the (2, 2)-Dimensional supermanifold along with the dual horizontality criteria. We provide the conserved charges linked to the aforementioned nilpotent symmetries as well as their geometric interpretation. The anti-BRST and anti-co-BRST charges' nilpotency and total anticommutativity. It has also been confirmed that, in the context of the augmented superfield formalism, the anti-BRST and anti-co-BRST charges are nilpotent and absolutely anti-commutative. One notable aspect of the current study is the application of the dual-horizontality requirement to obtain appropriate anti-co-BRST symmetry.

Nonsymmorphic bosonization in one-dimensional generalized Kitaev spin-1/2 models

Abstract:In this work, we perform a detailed study on the consequences of nonsymmorphic symmetries in the Luttinger phase of the one-dimensional spin-1/2 Kitaev-Heisenberg-Gamma model with an antiferromagnetic Kitaev interaction. Nonsymmorphic bosonization formulas for the spin operators are proposed, containing ten non-universal coefficients which are determined by our density matrix renormalization group simulations to a high degree of accuracy. Using the nonsymmorphic bosonization formulas, different Fourier components and decay powers in the correlation functions are disentangled, the response to weak magnetic fields is analyzed, and the zigzag magnetic order in two dimensions is recovered from a system of weakly coupled chains. We also find a line of critical points with an emergent SU(2)$_1$ conformal symmetry located on the boundary of the Luttinger liquid phase, where a nonabelian version of nonsymmorphic bosonization should be applied.

Abstract:For a fermionic quantum field theory in $d=1+1$ dimensions, there is a subtle difference between summing over spin structures and gauging $(-1)^F$. If the gravitational anomaly vanishes mod 16, then both operations are equivalent and yield a bosonic theory. But if the gravitational anomaly only vanishes mod 8, then only gauging $(-1)^F$ is allowed, and the result is a fermionic theory. Our goal is to understand in detail how this happens, despite the fact $(-1)^F$ is defined in terms of shifting the spin structure, which would naïvely suggest that both operations are equivalent. We do this from three perspectives: an abstract view in terms of anomalies, explicit CFT calculations, and a Symmetry TFT perspective. To conclude, we illustrate our results using the heterotic string and the famous self-triality of 8 Majorana-Weyl fermions.

Abstract:We consider Majorana lattices with two-site interactions consisting of a general function of the fermion bilinear. The models are exactly solvable in the limit of a large number of on-site fermions. The four-site chain exhibits a quantum phase transition controlled by the hopping parameters and manifests itself in a discontinuous entanglement entropy, obtained by constraining the one-sided modular Hamiltonian. Inspired by recent work within the AdS/CFT correspondence, we identify transitions between types of von Neumann operator algebras throughout the phase diagram. We find transitions of the form II1↔III↔I∞ that reduce to II1↔I∞ in the strongly interacting limit, where they connect nonfactorized and factorized ground states. Emergent Ashkin-Teller criticality in a constrained boson model

Abstract:We show, via explicit computation on a constrained bosonic model, that the presence of subsystem symmetries can lead to a quantum phase transition (QPT) where the critical point exhibits an emergent enhanced symmetry. Such a transition separates a unique gapped ground state from a gapless one; the latter phase exhibits a broken $Z_2$ symmetry which we tie to the presence of the subsystem symmetries in the model. The intermediate critical point separating these phases exhibits an additional emergent $Z_2$ symmetry which we identify; this emergence leads to a critical theory in the Ashkin-Teller, instead of the expected Ising, universality class. We show that the transitions of the model reproduces the Askhin-Teller critical line with variable correlation length exponent $\nu$ but constant central charge $c$. We verify this scenario via explicit exact-diagonalization computations, provide an effective Landau-Ginzburg theory for such a transition, and discuss the connection of our model to the PXP model describing Rydberg atom arrays.

Soldering Formalism in Noncommutative Field Theory: A Brief Note

Abstract:In this paper, I develop the Soldering formalism in a new domain - the noncommutative planar field theories. The Soldering mechanism fuses two distinct theories showing opposite or complimentary properties of some symmetry, taking into account the interference effects. The above mentioned symmetry is hidden in the composite (or soldered) theory. In the present work it is shown that a pair of noncommutative Maxwell-Chern-Simons theories, having opposite signs in their respective topological terms, can be consistently soldered to yield the Proca model (Maxwell theory with a mass term) with corrections that are at least quadratic in the noncommutativity parameter. We further argue that this model can be thought of as the noncommutative generalization of the Proca theory of ordinary spacetime. It is well-known that abelian noncommutative gauge theory bears a close structural similarity with non-abelian gauge theory. This fact is manifested in a non-trivial way if the present work is compared with existing literature, where soldering of non-abelian models are discussed. Thus the present work further establishes the robustness of the soldering programme. The subtle role played by gauge invariance, (or the lack of it), in the above soldering process, is revealed in an interesting way.
