Abstract:The propagation of damage on the square Ising lattice with a corner geometry is studied by means of Monte Carlo simulations. It is found that, just at $T=T_f (h)$ (critical temperature of the filling transition) the damage initially propagates along the interface of the competing domains, according to a power law given by $D(t) \propto t^{\eta}$. The value obtained for the dynamic exponent ($\eta^{*} = 0.89(1)$) is in agreement with that corresponding to the wetting transition in the slit geometry (Abraham Model) given by $\eta^{WT} = 0.91(1)$. However, for later times the propagation crosses to a new regime such as $\eta^{**} = 0.40 \pm 0.02$, which is due to the propagation of the damage into the bulk of the magnetic domains. This result can be understood due to the constraints imposed to the propagation of damage by the corner geometry of the system that cause healing at the corners where the interface is attached.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is about the polarization characteristics of the high - energy radiation of the Crab pulsar. Specifically, the authors studied the polarization phenomenon of the high - energy emission of the Crab pulsar under the framework of the "outer - gap accelerator", especially explored the influence of the synchrotron radiation generated by secondary and tertiary electron pairs on the light - curve, spectral type and polarization characteristics. Through these studies, the authors hope to explain the optical observation data of the Crab pulsar and try to understand how the polarization characteristics change at different energies. ### Main problem points of the paper: 1. **Explaining the observation data**: - The researchers hope to explain the optical polarization data of the Crab pulsar through theoretical models, especially the polarization position - angle curve and the degree of polarization. - They need to verify whether the model can explain the light - curve, spectral type and polarization characteristics simultaneously. 2. **Model improvement**: - The authors improved the traditional "outer - gap accelerator" model so that it can better describe the radiation process from the star surface to the light column. - In particular, they considered the radiation and electron - pair production processes from the star surface to the zero - charge surface, which were not fully considered in previous models. 3. **Multi - frequency radiation mechanism**: - The researchers hope to understand the radiation mechanisms at different energies, especially how the optical, X - ray and gamma - ray radiations are related to each other. - They verify whether the model predictions are consistent with the observation data by calculating the polarization characteristics at different energies. 4. **Determination of observation parameters**: - By comparing the model predictions and the observation data, the researchers hope to determine the viewing angle of the observer and other key parameters, such as the inclination angle and the inner boundary position. - These parameters are crucial for understanding the geometric structure and radiation mechanism of the pulsar. ### Main conclusions: - **Validity of the model**: - The authors showed that their model can simultaneously explain the light - curve, spectral type and polarization characteristics of the Crab pulsar. - The polarization position - angle curve and the degree of polarization predicted by the model are consistent with the observation data, especially the polarization characteristics in the bridge phase and the off - pulse phase. - **Radiation mechanism**: - The synchrotron radiation of secondary electron pairs mainly explains the main features of the light - curve and spectral type. - The synchrotron radiation of tertiary electron pairs makes an important contribution to the radiation in the bridge phase. - **Observation parameters**: - By comparing the model and the observation data, the researchers determined the viewing angle of the observer and other key parameters, which are very important for understanding the physical properties of the Crab pulsar. In conclusion, through the improved "outer - gap accelerator" model, this paper successfully explained the high - energy radiation polarization characteristics of the Crab pulsar and provided theoretical support for future high - energy observations.
