What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is that in traditional physics teaching, although the problem - solving method is widely used as the main teaching tool, its effect is not satisfactory, especially in promoting students' understanding of physics concepts, application of knowledge and development of problem - solving abilities. The paper points out that the traditional teaching - centered teaching model and problem - solving methods have many deficiencies, such as excessive focus on specific goals, overly narrow problems, lack of knowledge integration, and ignoring the complexity of the real world. These problems cause students to often rely on the standard problem - solving steps in memory when solving problems, lacking in - depth understanding and flexible application of physical concepts. To improve this situation, the paper proposes that the teaching model needs to be re - thought, transforming the teacher's role from a knowledge transmitter to a designer and guide of learning experiences, while encouraging students to become active knowledge constructors. The paper emphasizes the importance of research - based teaching methods, such as interactive participatory teaching, classroom response systems, workshop physics, etc., which can better promote students' cognitive development and improve their problem - solving abilities and understanding of physical concepts. In addition, the paper also discusses the teaching of metacognitive skills and the reform of assessment methods to ensure that assessment can promote rather than limit learning.
