Abstract:In this paper, both low order and high order extensions of the Iyengar type inequality are obtained. Such extensions are the best possible in the same sense as that of the Iyengar inequality. Furthermore, the Chebyshev central algorithms of integrals for some function classes and some related problems are also considered and investigated.

Abstract:Detailed analysis shows that the famous Iyengar inequality actually says that the Trapezoidal formula is a central algorithm for approximating integrals over an appropriate interval for the class of functions whose derivatives are bounded by a positive number K in L ∞ -sense. The inherent nonlinearity from central algorithms reflects the importance of the Iyengar inequality and thus makes familiar linear methods malfunction when one tries to generalize it. It is shown that the generalization depends on a nonlinear system of equations satisfied by a set of free nodes of a perfect spline. Explicit constructions are obtained in the spirit of the Iyengar inequality for the class of functions whose r th ( r ≤4) derivatives are bounded by a positive number K in L ∞ -sense because a closed solution to the nonlinear system is only available for r ≤4. Connections with computational mathematics, especially with best interpolation and best quadrature, are discussed. Numerical experiments are also included.

Abstract:We present numerical results from plasma particle simulations of collisionless shocks and ultra-relativistic counter-streaming plasmas. We demonstrate how the field-particle interactions lead to particle acceleration behind the shock-front. Further, we demonstrate how ultra relativistic counter-streaming plasmas create large scale patchy magnetic field structures and that these field structures propagate down-stream of the shock front. These results may help explain the origin of the magnetic fields and accelerated electrons responsible for afterglow synchrotron radiation from gamma ray bursts.

Abstract:Even a single point defect in a quantum wire causes a conductance reduction. In this paper we prove (without any approximations) that for any point impurity this conductance reduction in all the sub-bands is exactly 2e^2/h. Moreover, it is shown that in the case of a surface defect, not only is the conductance minimum independent of the defect characteristics, but the transmission matrix also converges to universal (defect-independent) values. We also discuss particle confinement between two arbitrarily weak point defects.

Abstract:As an essential part of classical analysis, Ostrowski and Čebyšev type inequalities have recently attracted considerable attention. Due to its universality, the non-additive integral inequality takes several forms, including Sugeno integrals, Choquet integrals, and pseudo-integrals. Set-valued analysis, a well-known generalization of classical analysis, is frequently employed in studying mathematical economics, control theory, etc. Inspired by pioneering work on interval-valued inequalities, this paper establishes specific Ostrowski and Čebyšev type inequalities for interval-valued functions. Moreover, the error estimation to quadrature rules is presented as some applications for illustrating our results. In addition, illustrative examples are offered to demonstrate the applicability of the mathematical methods presented.

Abstract:In this paper, our aim is to prove certain kinds of Steffensen type integral inequalities for the pseudo-integral and the discrete pseudo-integral. The observations concern two cases of the real semiring with pseudo-operations with respect to pseudo-integrals: the first semiring, where pseudo-operations are defined via a monotone and continuous function g, the second semiring, when pseudo-operations are given by an idempotent addition and a generated pseudo-multiplication. Moreover, the discrete pseudo-integral is based on symmetric pseudo-addition and pseudo-multiplication, where the generator g is odd and increasing. In each case, several practical examples are presented to illustrate these results.

Abstract:The goal of this study is to develop numerous Hermite–Hadamard–Mercer (H–H–M)-type inequalities involving various fractional integral operators, including classical, Riemann–Liouville (R.L), k-Riemann–Liouville (k-R.L), and their generalized fractional integral operators. In addition, we establish a number of corresponding fractional integral inequalities for three-times differentiable convex functions that are connected to the right side of the H–H–M-type inequality. For these results, further remarks and observations are provided. Following that, a couple of graphical representations are shown to highlight the key findings of our study. Finally, some applications on special means are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of our inequalities.

Abstract:The approximative theorems of incomplete Riemann-Stieltjes sums of Ito stochastic integral, mean square integral and Stratonovich stochastic integral with respect to Brownian motion are investigated. Some sufficient conditions of incomplete Riemann-Stieltjes sums approaching stochastic integral are developed, which establish the alternative ways to converge stochastic integral. And, Two simulation examples of incomplete Riemann-Stieltjes sums about Ito stochastic integral and Stratonovich stochastic integral are given for demonstration.

Abstract:Integral inequalities are very useful in finding the error bounds for numerical integration formulas. In this paper, we prove some multiplicative integral inequalities for first-time differentiable s-convex functions. These new inequalities help in finding the error bounds for different numerical integration formulas in multiplicative calculus. The use of s-convex function extends the results for convex functions and covers a large class of functions, which is the main motivation for using s-convexity. To prove the inequalities, we derive two different integral identities for multiplicative differentiable functions in the setting of multiplicative calculus. Then, with the help of these integral identities, we prove some integral inequalities of the Simpson and Ostrowski types for multiplicative generalized convex functions. Moreover, we provide some numerical examples and computational analysis of these newly established inequalities, to show the validity of the results for multiplicative s-convex functions. We also give some applications to quadrature formula and special means of real numbers within the framework of multiplicative calculus.

Abstract:In this work, novel Ostrowski-type inequalities for dissimilar function classes and generalized fractional integrals (FITs) are presented. We provide a useful identity for differentiable functions under FITs, which results in special expressions for functions whose derivatives have convex absolute values. A new condition for bounded variation functions is examined, as well as expansions to bounded and Lipschitzian derivatives. Our comprehension is improved by comparison with current findings, and recommendations for future study areas are given.
