Abstract:The ring of locally-constant integer-valued functions on the dominant chamber of the Shi arrangement is endowed with a filtration and a new basis, compatible with this filtration, is found. This basis is compared to the trivial basis. The ring is given a presentation by generators and relations.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct the so-called q-Schur modules as left principle ideals of cyclotomic q-Schur algebras, and prove that they are isomorphic to those cell modules defined in [3] and [10] in any level r. After that, mainly, we prove that these q-Schur modules are free and construct their basis. This result gives the new versions of some several known results such as standard basis and the branching theorem. With the help of this realizations and the new basis, we give a new proof of the Branch rule of Weyl modules which was first discovered by Wada in [20].

Abstract:We revisit the concept of a minimal basis through the lens of the theory of modules over a commutative ring $R$. We first review the conditions for the existence of a basis for submodules of $R^n$ where $R$ is a Bézout domain. Then, we define the concept of invertible basis of a submodule of $R^n,$ and when $R$ is an elementary divisor domain, we link it to the Main Theorem of G. D. Forney Jr. [SIAM J. Control, 13:493-520, 1975]. Over an elementary divisor domain, the submodules admitting an invertible basis are precisely the free pure submodules of $R^n$. As an application, we let $\Omega \subseteq \mathbb{C}$ be either a connected compact set or a connected open set, and we specialize to $R=\mathcal{A}(\Omega)$, the ring of functions that are analytic on $\Omega$. We show that, for any matrix $A(z) \in \mathcal{A}(\Omega)^{m \times n}$, $\ker A(z) \cap \mathcal{A}(\Omega)^n$ is a free $\mathcal{A}(\Omega)$-module and admits an invertible basis, or equivalently a basis that is full rank upon evaluation at any $\lambda \in \Omega$. Finally, given $\lambda \in \Omega$, we use invertible bases to define and study maximal sets of root vectors at $\lambda$ for $A(z)$. This in particular allows us to define eigenvectors also for analytic matrices that do not have full column rank.

Abstract:The author was recently able to provide a cohomological interpretation of Tate's Riemann-Roch formula for number fields using some new harmonic analysis objects, ghost-spaces. When trying to investigate these objects in general, we realized the importance of functions and measures on locally compact abelian groups that are both positive and positive-definite at the same time. It looks like this class of functions and measures was not systematically studied before. The goal of this paper is to partially fill in this gap. We answer some of the natural questions involving these functions and measures, especially those that satisfy some extra integrability conditions. We also study some operations and constructions involving these functions and measures. There are several very interesting open questions, that we are only able to point out at this moment. In particular, the structure of the cone of such functions is not clear even when the group is just $\R.$

Abstract:We study the existence and the distribution of "long" chains in the Weihrauch degrees, mostly focusing on chains with uncountable cofinality. We characterize when such chains have an upper bound and prove that there are no cofinal chains (of any order type) in the Weihrauch degrees. Furthermore, we show that the existence of coinitial sequences of non-zero degrees is equivalent to $\mathrm{CH}$. Finally, we explore the extendibility of antichains, providing some necessary conditions for maximality.

Abstract:For a Lie superalgebra with Cartan matrix over a field of positive characteristic, some information about its root system in terms of the system of simple roots corresponding to the Chevalley generators is described, under certain given assumptions. This information may be useful for finding other systems of simple roots of such a Lie superalgebra and other Cartan matrices which produce Lie superalgebras isomorphic to a given one.

Abstract:In this expository note, we review the recent developments about Maulik and Okounkov’s stable bases for the Springer resolution \documentclass[12pt]{minimal}\usepackage{amsmath}\usepackage{wasysym}\usepackage{amsfonts}\usepackage{amssymb}\usepackage{amsbsy}\usepackage{mathrsfs}\usepackage{upgreek}\setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt}\begin{document}$$T^*(G/B)$$\end{document}. In the cohomology case, we compute the action of the graded affine Hecke algebra on the stable basis, which is used to obtain the localization formulae. We further identify the stable bases with the Chern–Schwartz–MacPherson classes of the Schubert cells. This relation is used to prove the positivity conjecture of Aluffi and Mihalcea. For the K theory stable basis, we first compute the action of the affine Hecke algebra on it, which is used to deduce the localization formulae via root polynomial method. Similar as the cohomology case, they are also identified with the motivic Chern classes of the Schubert cells. This identification is used to prove the Bump–Nakasuji–Naruse conjecture about the unramified principal series of the Langlands dual group over non-Archimedean local fields. In the end, we study the wall R-matrices, which relate stable bases for different alcoves. As an application, we give a categorification of the stable bases via the localization of Lie algebras over positive characteristic fields.

Abstract:The aim of this article is to obtain a formula giving, for a positive integer $n$, the number of roots of the $n^{th}$ continuant polynomial over a finite local ring. In particular, we will give counting formulae for the roots of the continuant over the local rings $\mathbb{F}_{q}$, $\mathbb{Z}/p^{m}\mathbb{Z}$ and $\frac{\mathbb{F}_{q}[X]}{<X^{m}>}$. To conclude, the methods used for the continuant will allow us to give a new and short proof of the counting formulae for $\lambda$-quiddities (which are the solutions of a matrix equation appearing in the study of Coxeter's friezes) over the rings $\mathbb{Z}/p^{m}\mathbb{Z}$.

Abstract:Given an integer $n$, we introduce the integral Lie ring of partitions with bounded maximal part, whose elements are in one-to-one correspondence to integer partitions with parts in $\{1,2,\dots, n-1\}$. Starting from an abelian subring, we recursively define a chain of idealizers and we prove that the sequence of ranks of consecutive terms in the chain is definitely periodic. Moreover, we show that its growth depends of the partial sum of the partial sum of the sequence counting the number of partitions. This work generalizes our previous recent work on the same topic, devoted to the modular case where partitions were allowed to have a bounded number of repetitions of parts in a ring of coefficients of positive characteristic.

Abstract:We give the first conjectural construction of a monomial basis for the coinvariant ring $R_n^{(1,2)}$, for the symmetric group $S_n$ acting on one set of bosonic (commuting) and two sets of fermionic (anticommuting) variables. Our construction interpolates between the modified Motzkin path basis for $R_n^{(0,2)}$ of Kim-Rhoades (2022) and the super-Artin basis for $R_n^{(1,1)}$ conjectured by Sagan-Swanson (2024) and proven by Angarone et al. (2024). We prove that our proposed basis has cardinality $2^{n-1}n!$, aligning with a conjecture of Zabrocki (2020) on the dimension of $R_n^{(1,2)}$, and show how it gives a combinatorial expression for the Hilbert series. We also conjecture a Frobenius series for $R_n^{(1,2)}$. We show that these proposed Hilbert and Frobenius series are equivalent to conjectures of Iraci, Nadeau, and Vanden Wyngaerd (2023) on $R_n^{(1,2)}$ in terms of segmented Smirnov words, by exhibiting a weight-preserving bijection between our proposed basis and their segmented permutations. We extend some of their results on the sign character to hook characters, and give a formula for the $m_\mu$ coefficients of the conjectural Frobenius series. Finally, we conjecture a monomial basis for the analogous ring in type $B_n$, and show that it has cardinality $4^nn!$.

Abstract:Associated to a symmetrisable Cartan matrix $C$, Geiss-Lerclerc-Schr\"{o}er constructed and studied a class of Iwanaga-Gorenstein algebras $H$. They proved a generalised version of Gabriel's Theorem, that is, the rank vectors of $\tau$-locally free $H$-modules are the positive roots of type $C$ when $C$ is of finite type, and conjectured that this is true for any $C$. In this paper, we look into this conjecture when $C$ is of affine type. We construct explicitly stable tubes, some of which have rigid mouth modules, while others not. We deduce that any positive root of type $C$ is the rank vector of some $\tau$-locally free $H$-module. However, the converse is not true in general. Our construction shows that there are $\tau$-locally free $H$-modules whose rank vectors are not roots, when $C$ is of type $\widetilde{\mathbb{B}}_n$, $\widetilde{\mathbb{CD}}_n$, $\widetilde{\mathbb{F}}_{41}$ and $\widetilde{\mathbb{G}}_{21}$, and so the conjecture fails in these four types.

Abstract:For any pair of orientable closed hyperbolic $3$--manifolds, this paper shows that any isomorphism between the profinite completions of their fundamental groups witnesses a bijective correspondence between the Zariski dense $\mathrm{PSL}(2,\mathbb{Q}^{\mathtt{ac}})$--representations of their fundamental groups, up to conjugacy; moreover, corresponding pairs of representations have identical invariant trace fields and isomorphic invariant quaternion algebras. (Here, $\mathbb{Q}^{\mathtt{ac}}$ denotes an algebraic closure of $\mathbb{Q}$.) Next, assuming the $p$--adic Borel regulator injectivity conjecture for number fields, this paper shows that uniform lattices in $\mathrm{PSL}(2,\mathbb{C})$ with isomorphic profinite completions have identical invariant trace fields, isomorphic invariant quaternion algebras, identical covolume, and identical arithmeticity.

Abstract:Let be the ring of polynomial-valued holomorphic differential forms on complex n-space, referred to in physics as the superspace ring of rank n. The symmetric group acts diagonally on by permuting commuting and anticommuting generators simultaneously. We let be the ideal generated by -invariants with vanishing constant term and study the quotient of superspace by this ideal. We calculate the doubly-graded Hilbert series of and prove an 'operator theorem', which characterizes the harmonic space attached to in terms of the Vandermonde determinant and certain differential operators. Our methods employ commutative algebra results that were used in the study of Hessenberg varieties. Our results prove conjectures of N. Bergeron, Colmenarejo, Li, Machacek, Sulzgruber, Swanson, Wallach and Zabrocki.

Abstract:Let $G_k$ be a connected reductive group over an algebraically closed field $k$ of char $\neq 2$. Let $\theta_k$ be an algebraic group involution of $G_k$ and denote the fixed point subgroup by $K_k$. We construct an integral model for the symmetric space $K_k \backslash G_k$ with a natural action of the Chevalley group scheme over integers. We show the coordinate ring $k[K_k \backslash G_k]$ admits a canonical basis, as well as a good filtration as a $G_k$-module. We also construct a canonical basis and an integral form for the space of $K_k$-biinvariant functions on $k[G_k]$. Our results rely on the construction of quantized coordinate algebras of symmetric spaces, using the theory of canonical bases on quantum symmetric pairs.
