Symmetry Integrability and Geometry Methods and Applications

Abstract:We prove that the quantum graph algebra and the quantum moduli algebra associated to a punctured sphere and complex semisimple Lie algebra are Noetherian rings and finitely generated rings over . Moreover, we show that these two properties still hold on for the integral version of the quantum graph algebra. We also study the specializations of the quantum graph algebra at a root of unity of odd order, and show that and its invariant algebra under the quantum group have classical fraction algebras which are central simple algebras of PI degrees that we compute.

Quantum Grassmannians and their Associated Quantum Schubert Varieties at roots of unity

Abstract:We study the PI degree of various quantum algebras at roots of unity, including quantum Grassmannians, quantum Schubert varieties, partition subalgebras, and their associated quantum affine spaces. By a theorem of De Concini and Procesi, the PI degree of partition subalgebras and their associated quantum affine spaces is controlled by skew-symmetric integral matrices associated to (Cauchon-Le) diagrams. We prove that the invariant factors of these matrices are always powers of 2. This allows us to compute explicitly the PI degree of partition subalgebras. Our results also apply to certain completely prime (homogeneous) quotients of partition subalgebras. In particular, our results allow us to extend results of Jakobsen and Jondrup regarding the PI degree of quantum determinantal rings at roots of unity [JJ01] and we present a method to construct an irreducible representation of maximal dimension for quantum determinantal ideals. Building on these results, we use the strong connection between partition subalgebras and quantum Schubert varieties through noncommutative dehomogenisation [LR08] to obtain expressions for the PI degree of quantum Schubert varieties. In particular, we compute the PI degree of quantum Grassmannians.

Abstract:We prove that the Grothendieck ring of the monoidal category of finitely generated graded projective modules for the nil-Brauer category is isomorphic to an integral form of the split $\imath$-quantum group of rank one. Under this isomorphism, the indecomposable graded projective modules correspond to the $\imath$-canonical basis. We also introduce a new PBW basis for the $\imath$-quantum group and show that it is categorified by standard modules for the nil-Brauer category. Finally, we derive character formulae for irreducible graded modules and deduce various branching rules.

On Integrality of Non-Semisimple Quantum Representations of Mapping Class Groups

Abstract:For a root of unity $\zeta$ of odd prime order, we restrict coefficients of non-semisimple quantum representations of mapping class groups associated with the small quantum group $\mathfrak{u}_\zeta \mathfrak{sl}_2$ from $\mathbb{Q}(\zeta)$ to $\mathbb{Z}[\zeta]$. We do this by exhibiting explicit bases of states spaces that span $\mathbb{Z}[\zeta]$-lattices that are invariant under projective actions of mapping class groups.

Abstract:For each compact, simple, simply-connected Lie group and each integer level we construct a modular tensor category from a quotient of a certain subcategory of the category of representations of the corresponding quantum group. We determine when at fractional levels the corresponding category is modular. We also give a quantum version of the Racah formula for the decomposition of the tensor product. This work relies on developing the basic representation theory of quantum groups at roots of unity, including Harish-Chandra's Theorem. It generalizes previous work which applied only to fractional levels or only to the projective form of the group.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the representation theory of the small quantum group $\overline{U}_q$ and the small quasi-quantum group $\widetilde{U}_q$, where $q$ is a primitive $n$-th root of unity and $n>2$ is odd. All finite dimensional indecomposable $\widetilde{U}_q$-modules are described and classified. Moreover, the decomposition rules for the tensor products of $\widetilde{U}_q$-modules are given. Finally, we describe the structures of the projective class ring $r_p(\widetilde{U}_q)$ and the Green ring $r(\widetilde{U}_q)$. We show that $r(\overline{U}_q)$ is isomorphic to a subring of $r(\widetilde{U}_q)$, and the stable Green rings $r_{st}(\widetilde{U}_q)$ and $r_{st}(\overline{U}_q)$ are isomorphic.

Linkage principle for small quantum groups

Abstract:We consider small quantum groups with root systems of Cartan, super and modular type, among others. These are constructed as Drinfeld doubles of finite-dimensional Nichols algebras of diagonal type. We prove a linkage principle for them by adapting techniques from the work of Andersen, Jantzen and Soergel in the context of small quantum groups at roots of unity. Consequently we characterize the blocks of the category of modules. We also find a notion of (a)typicality similar to the one in the representation theory of Lie superalgebras. The typical simple modules turn out to be the simple and projective Verma modules. Moreover, we deduce a character formula for 1-atypical simple modules.

Abstract:Given a locally compact group such that V is Abelian and such that the action of Q on the Pontryagin dual has a free orbit of full measure, we construct a family of unitary dual 2-cocycles (aka non-formal Drinfel'd twists) whose equivalence classes are parametrized by cohomology classes . We prove that the associated locally compact quantum groups are isomorphic to cocycle bicrossed product quantum groups associated with a pair of subgroups of the dual semidirect product , both isomorphic to Q , and to a pentagonal cocycle explicitly given in terms of the group cocycle .

Abstract:We construct quantizations of multiplicative hypertoric varieties using an algebra of q-difference operators on affine space, where q is a root of unity in C. The quantization defines a matrix bundle (i.e. Azumaya algebra) over the multiplicative hypertoric variety and admits an explicit finite étale splitting. The global sections of this Azumaya algebra is a hypertoric quantum group, and we prove a localization theorem. We introduce a general framework of Frobenius quantum moment maps and their Hamiltonian reductions; our results shed light on an instance of this framework.

For , the Coxeter number of , we establish a ‘linkage principle’ and a ‘translation principle’ for tensor products: Let be the essential image in of the principal block of . We first show that is closed under tensor products in . Then we prove that the monoidal structure of is governed to a large extent by the monoidal structure of . These results can be combined to give an external tensor product decomposition , where denotes the Verlinde category of .

Functional Analysis and Its Applications

Abstract:We define a Grothendieck ring of pairs of complex quasi-projective varieties (consisting of a variety and a subvariety). We describe -structures on this ring and a power structure over it. We show that the conjectual symmetric power of the projective line with several orbifold points described by A. Fonarev is consistent with the symmetric power of this line with the set of distinguished points as a pair of varieties.

Abstract:Suppose $C$ is a cyclic Galois cover of the projective line branched at the three points $0$, $1$, and $\infty$. Under a mild condition on the ramification, we determine the structure of the graded Lie algebra of the lower central series of the fundamental group of $C$ in terms of a basis which is well-suited to studying the action of the absolute Galois group of $\mathbb{Q}$.

Abstract:Certain results on representations of quivers have analogs in the structure theory of general Coxeter groups. A fixed Coxeter element turns the Coxeter graph into an acyclic quiver, allowing for the definition of a preprojective root. A positive root is an analog of an indecomposable representation of the quiver. The Coxeter group is finite if and only if every positive root is preprojective, which is analogous to the well-known result that a quiver is of finite representation type if and only if every indecomposable representation is preprojective. Combinatorics of orientation-admissible words in the graph monoid of the Coxeter graph relates strongly to reduced words and the weak order of the group.

We classify the primitive ideals and simple modules of Fq(G) and Uq(g) over an algebraically closed field of arbitrary characteristic. We determine their groups of automorphisms over a field of characteristic zero.

Abstract:We provide a geometric realization of the quasi-split affine $\imath$quantum group of type AIII$_{2n-1}^{(\tau)}$ in terms of equivariant K-groups of non-connected Steinberg varieties of type C. This uses a new Drinfeld type presentation of this affine $\imath$quantum group which admits very nontrivial Serre relations. We then construct à la Springer a family of finite-dimensional standard modules and irreducible modules of this $\imath$quantum group, and provide a composition multiplicity formula of the standard modules.
