Their relations are investigated, and several results are generalized from the affine Lie algebras. Abstract:Lowest weight representations of the ${\mathbb Z}_2 \otimes {\mathbb Z}_2$ graded superalgebra introduced by Rittenberg and Wyler are investigated. We give a explicit construction of Verma modules over the ${\mathbb Z}_2 \otimes {\mathbb Z}_2$ graded superalgebra and show their reducibility by using singular vectors. The explicit formula of singular vectors are given and are used to derive partial differential equations invariant under the color supergroup generated by the ${\mathbb Z}_2 \otimes {\mathbb Z}_2$ graded superalgebra.

Abstract:We discuss elements of a social history of the theory of projective modules over commutative rings. We attempt to study the question: how did the theory of projective modules become one of "mainstream" focus in mathematics? To do this, we begin in what one might call the pre-history of projective modules, describing the mathematical culture into which the notion of projective module was released. These recollections involve four pieces: (a) analyzing aspects of the theory of fiber bundles, as it impinges on algebraic geometry, (b) understanding the rise of homological techniques in algebraic topology, (c) describing the influence of category-theoretic ideas in topology and algebra and (d) revisiting the story of the percolation of sheaf-theoretic ideas through algebraic geometry. We will then argue that it was this unique confluence of mathematical events that allowed projective modules to emerge as objects of central mathematical importance. More precisely, we will first argue that, in the context of social currents of the time, projective modules initially were isolated as objects of purely technical convenience reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities of the creators of the fledgling theory of homological algebra. Only later did they transcend this limited role to become objects of "mainstream importance" due to influence from the theory of algebraic fiber bundles and the theory of sheaves. Along the way, we aim to show how strong personal ties emanating from the Bourbaki movement and its connections in mathematical centers including Paris, Princeton and Chicago were essential to the entrance, propagation and mainstream mathematical acceptance of the theory.

Geometric categorifications of Verma modules: Grassmannian Quiver Hecke algebras

Abstract:Naisse and Vaz defined an extension of KLR algebras to categorify Verma modules. We realise these algebras geometrically as convolution algebras in Borel-Moore homology. For this we introduce Grassmannian-Steinberg quiver flag varieties. They generalize Steinberg quiver flag varieties in a non-obvious way, reflecting the diagrammatics from the Naisse-Vaz construction. Using different kind of stratifications we provide geometric explanations of the rather mysterious algebraic and diagrammatic basis theorems. A geometric categorification of Verma modules was recently found in the special case of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ by Rouquier. Rouquier's construction uses coherent sheaves on certain quasi-map spaces to flag varieties (zastavas), whereas our construction is implicitly based on perverse sheaves. Both should be seen as parts (on dual sides) of a general geometric framework for the Naisse-Vaz approach. We first treat the (substantially easier) $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ case in detail and construct as a byproduct a geometric dg-model of the nil-Hecke algebras. The extra difficulties we encounter in general require the use of more complicated Grassmannian-Steinberg quiver flag varieties. Their definition arises from combinatorially defined diagram varieties which we assign to each Naisse-Vaz basis diagram. Our explicit analysis here might shed some light on categories of coherent sheaves on more general zastava spaces studied by Feigin-Finkelberg-Kuznetsov-Mirković and Braverman, which we expect to occur in a generalization of Rouquier's construction away from $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.

Constructing non-semisimple modular categories with local modules

Abstract:We define the class of rigid Frobenius algebras in a (non-semisimple) modular category and prove that their categories of local modules are, again, modular. This generalizes previous work of A. Kirillov, Jr. and V. Ostrik [Adv. Math. 171 (2002), no. 2] in the semisimple setup. Examples of non-semisimple modular categories via local modules, as well as connections to the authors' prior work on relative monoidal centers, are provided. In particular, we classify rigid Frobenius algebras in Drinfeld centers of module categories over group algebras, thus generalizing the classification by A. Davydov [J. Algebra 323 (2010), no. 5] to arbitrary characteristic.

Abstract:A module over a ring R is pure projective provided it is isomorphic to a direct summand of a direct sum of finitely presented modules. We develop tools for the classification of pure projective modules over commutative noetherian rings. In particular, for a fixed finitely presented module M, we consider Add ⁡ ( M ) {\operatorname{Add}(M)} , which consists of direct summands of direct sums of copies of M. We are primarily interested in the case where R is a one-dimensional, local domain, and in torsion-free (or Cohen–Macaulay) modules. We show that, even in this case, Add ⁡ ( M ) {\operatorname{Add}(M)} can have an abundance of modules that are not direct sums of finitely generated ones. Our work is based on the fact that such infinitely generated direct summands are all determined by finitely generated data. Namely, idempotent/trace ideals of the endomorphism ring of M and finitely generated projective modules modulo such idempotent ideals. This allows us to extend the classical theory developed to study the behaviour of direct sum decomposition of finitely generated modules comparing with their completion to the infinitely generated case. We study the structure of the monoid V * ⁢ ( M ) {V^{*}(M)} , of isomorphism classes of countably generated modules in Add ⁡ ( M ) {\operatorname{Add}(M)} with the addition induced by the direct sum. We show that V * ⁢ ( M ) {V^{*}(M)} is a submonoid of V * ⁢ ( M ⊗ R R ^ ) {V^{*}(M\otimes_{R}\widehat{R})} , this allows us to make computations with examples and to prove some realization results.

Abstract:We describe a general method for algorithmic construction of G-equivariant chain homotopy equivalences from non-equivariant ones. As a consequence, we obtain an algorithm for computing equivariant (co)homology of Eilenberg-MacLane spaces K(pi,n), where pi is a finitely generated ZG-module. This result will be used in a forthcoming paper to construct equivariant Postnikov towers of simply connected spaces with free actions of a finite group G and further to compute stable equivariant homotopy classes of maps between such spaces. The methods of this paper work for modules over any non-negatively graded differential graded algebra, whose underlying graded abelian group is free with 1 as one of the generators.

Abstract:Consider the general linear group $G=GL_{n}(K)$ defined over an infinite field $K$ of positive characteristic $p$. We denote by $\Delta(\lambda)$ the Weyl module of $G$ which corresponds to a partition $\lambda$. Let $\lambda, \mu $ be partitions of $r$ and let $\gamma$ be partition with all parts divisible by $p$. In the first main result of this paper, we find sufficient conditions on $\lambda, \mu$ and $\gamma$ so that $Hom_G(\Delta(\lambda),\Delta(\mu))$ $ \simeq$ $ Hom_G(\Delta(\lambda +\gamma),\Delta(\mu +\gamma))$, thus providing an answer to a question of D. Hemmer. As corollaries we obtain stability and periodicity results for homomorphism spaces. In the second main result we find related sufficient conditions on $\lambda, \mu$ and $p$ so that $Hom_G(\Delta(\lambda),\Delta(\mu))$ is nonzero. An explicit map is provided that corresponds to the sum of all semistandard tableaux of shape $\mu$ and weight $\lambda$.

Grothendieck-Verdier duality in categories of bimodules and weak module functors

Abstract:Various monoidal categories, including suitable representation categories of vertex operator algebras, admit natural Grothendieck-Verdier duality structures. We recall that such a Grothendieck-Verdier category comes with two tensor products which should be related by distributors obeying pentagon identities. We discuss in which circumstances these distributors are isomorphisms. This is achieved by taking the perspective of module categories over monoidal categories, using in particular the natural weak module functor structure of internal Homs and internal coHoms. As an illustration, we exhibit these concepts concretely in the case of categories of bimodules over associative algebras.

Stable functors of derived equivalences and Gorenstein projective modules

Abstract:From certain triangle functors, called nonnegative functors, between the bounded derived categories of abelian categories with enough projective objects, we introduce their stable functors which are certain additive functors between the stable categories of the abelian categories. The construction generalizes a previous work by Hu and Xi. We show that the stable functors of nonnegative functors have nice exactness property and are compatible with composition of functors. This allows us to compare conveniently the homological properties of objects linked by the stable functors. In particular, we prove that the stable functor of a derived equivalence between two arbitrary rings provides an explicit triangle equivalence between the stable categories of Gorenstein projective modules. This generalizes a result of Y. Kato. Our results can also be applied to provide shorter proofs of some known results on homological conjectures.

Abstract:We develop the theory of module categories over a Grothendieck-Verdier category, i.e. a monoidal category with a dualizing object and hence a duality structure more general than rigidity. Such a category C comes with two monoidal structures which are related by non-invertible morphisms and which we treat on an equal footing. Quite generally, non-invertible structure morphisms play a dominant role in this theory. In any Grothendieck-Verdier module category M we find two important subcategories M' and M''. The internal End of an object in M' that is a C-generator is an algebra such that its category of modules is equivalent to M as a module category. We also introduce a partially defined relative Serre functor S which furnishes an equivalence between M' and M''. Any isomorphism between an object m of M' and S(m) in M'' endows the internal End of m with the structure of a Grothendieck-Verdier Frobenius algebra.

Abstract:We construct a large class of simple modules for the Heisenberg–Virasoro algebra. These modules are determined by the simple modules over the finite-dimensional quotient algebras of certain natural subalgebras. The known simple modules such as the highest weight modules and Whittaker modules are included. In particular, we recover one of the main results of Billig (2003) in [3] and reobtain the simplicity of the Verma modules in a special case of Arbarello et al. (1988) in [1]. We also characterize a large subclass of these modules as simple modules with locally finite actions of elements in certain positive part.

Abstract:Abstract We investigate the (separated) monomorphism category of a quiver over an Artin algebra . We show that there exists an epivalence (called representation equivalence in the terminology of Auslander) from to , where is the category of finitely generated ‐modules and and denote the respective injectively stable categories. Furthermore, if has at least one arrow, then we show that this is an equivalence if and only if is hereditary. In general, the epivalence induces a bijection between indecomposable objects in and noninjective indecomposable objects in , and we show that the generalized Mimo‐construction, an explicit minimal right approximation into , gives an inverse to this bijection. We apply these results to describe the indecomposables in the monomorphism category of radical square zero Nakayama algebras, and to give a bijection between the indecomposables in the monomorphism category of two artinian uniserial rings of Loewy length 3 with the same residue field. The main tool to prove these results is the language of a free monad of an exact endofunctor on an arbitrary abelian category. This allows us to avoid the technical combinatorics arising from quiver representations. The setup also specializes to more general settings, such as representations of modulations. In particular, we obtain new results on the singularity category of the algebras that were introduced by Geiss, Leclerc, and Schröer in order to extend their results relating cluster algebras and Lusztig's semicanonical basis to symmetrizable Cartan matrices. We also recover results on the algebras that were introduced by Lu and Wang to realize groups via semiderived Hall algebras.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a new family of functors from the category of modules for the Weyl algebra to the category of modules for the super-Virasoro algebras. The properties of these functors are investigated, with an emphasis on irreducibility preservation and natural isomorphisms. By utilizing these functors, we recover some old irreducible super-Virasoro modules, including those from the irreducible intermediate series as well as irreducible U(h)-free modules. Additionally, we provide several families of new irreducible super-Virasoro modules via our constructed functors.
