Abstract:1. This paper builds on the previous work by the authors in [1] in the manuscript (reproduced here for clarity). 2. The acknowledgement adds this sentence‘Part of figures 2–4 and 6 are reproduced from [1] with permission from the Royal Society of Chemistry’. 3. The sentence ‘Herein, a homojunction structure with hexagonal WO3 nanocrystal embedded in amorphous WO3−x was synthesized for the first time, using oxalic acid as capping agent by one step hydrothermal method’ should read ‘Herein, a homojunction structure with hexagonal WO3 nanocrystal embedded in amorphous WO3−x was synthesized using oxalic acid as capping agent by one step hydrothermal method’. 4. Reference [1] in the manuscript should also have been applied to the Synthesis paragraph of the Methods section.
