Abstract:Fibered holomorphic dynamics are skew-product transformations over an irrational rotation, whose fibers are holomorphic functions. In this paper we study such a dynamics on a neighborhood of an invariant curve. We obtain some results analogous to the results in the non fibered case.

Abstract:We consider the problem of the persistence of invariant curves for analytical fibered holomorphic transformations. We define a fibered rotation number associated to an invariant curve. We show that an invariant curve with a prescribed fibered rotation number persists under small perturbations on the dynamics provided that the pair of rotation numbers verifies a Brjuno type arithmetical condition.

Abstract:In this paper, we explore the local geometry of dynamical systems $\dot{x}=F(x)$ with real time parameterization, where $F$ is holomorphic on connected open subsets of $\mathbb{C}\stackrel{\sim}{=}\mathbb{R}^2$. We describe the geometry of first-order equilibria. For equilibria of higher orders, we establish an equivalent condition for "definite directions", allowing us to reverse the implication in Theorem 2 of Chapter 2.10 in [Differential equations and dynamical systems, Lawrence Perko (1990)] under the additional condition of holomorphy. This enables the geometric construction of a finite elliptic decomposition. We derive a holomorphic Poincaré-Bendixson-type theorem, leading to the conclusion that bounded non-periodic orbits are always homoclinic or heteroclinic.

Abstract:We introduce the notion of fibered lifted partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms and we prove that any partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism isotopic to a fibered lifted one where the isotopy take place inside partially hyperbolic systems is dynamically coherent. Moreover we prove some global stability result: every two partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms in the same connected component of a fibered lifted partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms are leaf conjugate.

Abstract:In this paper we study stable ergodicity of the action of groups of diffeomorphisms on smooth manifolds. The existence of such actions is known only on one dimensional manifolds. The aim of this paper is to introduce a geometric method to overcome this restriction and for constructing higher dimensional examples. In particular, we show that every closed manifold admits stably ergodic finitely generated group actions by diffeomorphisms of class $C^{1+\alpha}$. We also prove the stable ergodicity of certain algebraic actions including the natural action of a generic pair of matrices near the identity on a sphere of arbitrary dimension. These are consequences of the quasi-conformal blender, a local and stable mechanism/phenomenon introduced in this paper, which encapsulates our method to prove stable local ergodicity by providing quasi-conformal orbits with fine controlled geometry. The quasi-conformal blender is developed in the context of pseudo-semigroup actions of locally defined smooth diffeomorphisms. This allows for applications in different settings, including for the smooth foliations of arbitrary codimension.

On holomorphic partially hyperbolic systems

Abstract:We construct examples illustrating that dynamically-defined distributions of holomorphic diffeomorphisms on compact complex manifolds are not necessarily holomorphic in any open subset. More precisely, for any $n\geq 5$, we construct a holomorphic fibered partially hyperbolic system on a complex $n$-fold, where the center distribution is not holomorphic in any open subset. For $n=3$ we demonstrate a contrast: the center distribution of any fibered holomorphic partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism on a complex $3$-fold is holomorphic. In particular, any such a system is a holomorphic skew product over a linear automorphism on a complex $2$-torus.

Abstract:Up to finite étale cover, any smooth complex projective variety $X$ with nef anti-canonical bundle is a holomorphic fibre bundle over a $K$-trivial variety with locally constant transition functions. We show that this result is optimal by proving that any projective fibre bundle with locally constant transition functions over a $K$-trivial variety has a nef anti-canonical bundle. Moreover, we complement some results on the structure theory of varieties whose tangent bundle admits a singular hermitean metric of positive curvature.

Abstract:Structural stability of holomorphic functions has been the subject of much research in the last fifty years. Due to various technicalities, however, most of that work has focused on so-called finite-type functions (functions whose set of singular values has finite cardinality). Recent developments in the field go beyond this setting. In this paper we extend Eremenko and Lyubich's result on natural families of entire maps to the case where the set of singular values is not the entire complex plane, showing under this assumption that the set $M_f$ of entire functions quasiconformally equivalent to $f$ admits the structure of a complex manifold (of possibly infinite dimension). Moreover, we will consider functions with wandering domains -- another hot topic of research in complex dynamics. Given an entire function $f$ with a simply connected wandering domain $U$, we construct an analogue of the multiplier of a periodic orbit, called a distortion sequence, and show that, under some hypotheses, the distortion sequence moves analytically as $f$ moves within appropriate parameter families.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to rigidity of smooth bundles which are equipped with fiberwise geometric or dynamical structure. We show that the fiberwise associated sphere bundle to a bundle whose leaves are equipped with (continuously varying) metrics of negative curvature is a topologically trivial bundle when either the base space is simply connected or, more generally, when the bundle is fiber homotopically trivial. We present two very different proofs of this result: a geometric proof and a dynamical proof. We also establish a number of rigidity results for bundles which are equipped with fiberwise Anosov dynamical systems. Finally, we present several examples which show that our results are sharp in certain ways or illustrate necessity of various assumptions.
Low-action holomorphic curves and invariant sets

Abstract:We prove a compactness theorem for sequences of low-action punctured holomorphic curves of controlled topology, in any dimension, without imposing the typical assumption of uniformly bounded Hofer energy. In the limit, we extract a family of closed Reeb-invariant subsets. Then, we prove new structural results for the U-map in ECH and PFH, implying that such sequences exist in abundance in low-dimensional symplectic dynamics. We obtain applications to symplectic dynamics and the geometry of surfaces. First, we prove generalizations to higher genus surfaces and three-manifolds of the celebrated Le Calvez-Yoccoz theorem. Second, we show that for any closed Riemannian or Finsler surface a dense set of points have geodesics passing through them that visit different sections of the surface. Third, we prove a version of Ginzburg-Gürel's "crossing energy bound" for punctured holomorphic curves, of arbitrary topology, in symplectizations of any dimension.

Horocycle flow on flat projective bundles: topological remarks and applications

Abstract:In this paper we study topological aspects of the dynamics of the foliated horocycle flow on flat projective bundles over hyperbolic surfaces and we derive ergodic consequences. If $\rho : \Gamma \to {\rm PSL}(n+1,\mathbb{R})$ is a representation of a non-elementary Fuchsian group $\Gamma$, the unit tangent bundle $Y$ associated to the flat projective bundle defined by $\rho$ admits a natural action of the affine group $B$ obtained by combining the foliated geodesic and horocycle flows. If the image $\rho(\Gamma)$ satisfies Conze-Guivarc'h conditions, namely strong irreducibility and proximality, the dynamics of the $B$-action is captured by the proximal dynamics of $\rho(\Gamma)$ on $\mathbb{R}{\rm P}^n$ (Theorem A). In fact, the dynamics of the foliated horocycle flow on the unique $B$-minimal subset of $Y$ can be described in terms of dynamics of the horocycle flow on the non-wandering set in the unit tangent bundle $X$ of the surface $S= \Gamma \backslash \mathbb{H}$ (Theorem B). Assuming the existence of a continuous limit map, we prove that the $B$-minimal set is an attractor for the foliated horocycle flow restricted to the proximal part of the non-wandering set in $Y$ (Theorem C). As a corollary, we deduce that the restricted flow admits a unique conservative ergodic $U$-invariant Radon measure (defined up to a multiplicative constant) if and only if $\Gamma$ is convex-cocompact. For example, the foliated horocycle flow on the sphere bundle defined by the Cannon-Thurston map is uniquely ergodic.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to study the dynamics of holomorphic diffeomorphisms in C^n such that the resonances among the first 1<= r<= n eigenvalues of the differential are generated over N by a finite number of Q-linearly independent multi-indices (and more resonances are allowed for other eigenvalues). We give sharp conditions for the existence of basins of attraction where a Fatou coordinate can be defined. Furthermore, we obtain a generalization of the Leau-Fatou flower theorem, providing a complete description of the dynamics in a full neighborhood of the origin for 1-resonant parabolically attracting holomorphic germs in Poincare'-Dulac normal form.

Abstract:We study the birational boundedness of special fibers of log Calabi-Yau fibrations and Fano fibrations. We show that for a locally stable family of Fano varieties or polarised log Calabi-Yau pairs over a curve, if the general fiber satisfies some natural boundedness conditions, then every irreducible component of the special fiber is birationally bounded.

Abstract:We compute the local cohomology of vector fields on a manifold. In the smooth case this recovers the diagonal cohomology studied in work of Losik, Guillemin, Fuks and others. In the holomorphic case this cohomology has recently appeared in work of Hennion and Kapranov in their study of the Lie algebra cohomology of vector fields on a complex manifold. Additionally, we construct explicit representatives for cocycles in Gelfand--Fuks cohomology via descent.

Lower bounds on fibered Yang-Mills functionals: generic nefness and semistability of direct images

Abstract:The main goal of this paper is to generalize a part of the relationship between mean curvature and Harder-Narasimhan filtrations of holomorphic vector bundles to arbitrary polarized fibrations. More precisely, for a polarized family of complex projective manifolds, we establish lower bounds on a fibered version of Yang-Mills functionals in terms of the Harder-Narasimhan slopes of direct image sheaves associated with high tensor powers of the polarization. We discuss the optimality of these lower bounds and, as an application, provide an analytic characterisation of a fibered version of generic nefness. As another application, we refine the existent obstructions for finding metrics with constant horizontal mean curvature. The study of the semiclassical limit of Hermitian Yang-Mills functionals lies at the heart of our approach.

Abstract:Bifurcations within holomorphic families of rational maps on the Riemann sphere are well understood since the works of Mañé-Sad-Sullivan and, independently, Lyubich in the eighties. Their techniques are however totally inoperant in a higher dimensional setting and one has therefore to adopt a different approach. For holomorphic families of endomorphisms on P this has been done in a joint work with Fabrizio Bianchi and Christophe Dupont. Our point of view on bifurcation phenomena combines ergodic and pluripotential-theoretic tools. In particular the Lyapunov exponents of the maximal entropy measure play an important role. Abstract:We use the Leray spectral sequence for the sheaf cohomology groups with compact supports to obtain a vanishing result. The stalks of sheaves $R^{\bullet}\phi_{!}\mathcal{O}$ for the structure sheaf $\mathcal{O}$ on the total space of a holomorphic fiber bundle $\phi$ has canonical topology structures. Using the standard \vCech argument we prove a density lemma for QDFS-topology on this stalks. In particular, we obtain a vanishing result for holomorphic fiber bundles with Stein fibers. Using Künnet formulas, properties of an inductive topology (with respect to the pair of spaces) on the stalks of the sheaf $R^{1}\phi_{!}\mathcal{O}$ and a cohomological criterion for the Hartogs phenomenon we obtain the main result on the Hartogs phenomenon for the total space of holomorphic fiber bundles with (1,0)-compactifiable fibers.
