Abstract:A concise and efficient synthetic approach was developed for the synthesis of functionalized chromeno[4,3-b]pyrrol-4(1H)-ones via a one-pot, three-component reaction of 4-aminocoumarin, arylglyoxal monohydrates, and aromatic amines promoted by KHSO4 in toluene under reflux condition. The attractive features of this protocol are operational simplicity, short reaction time, easy purification of products and good to excellent yields.

Abstract:A mild and efficient 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO)-catalyzed three-component domino reaction was developed for the synthesis of highly functionalized NH-pyrroles from arylglyoxal monohydrates, enamino esters, and cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds in 1,4-dioxane at room temperature for 0.5 hours. Various substituted NH-pyrroles were obtained in moderate to good yields.

Abstract:A mild, efficient, and environmentally benign one-pot synthesis of functionalized chromeno[4,3-b]pyrrol-4(1H)-ones by a three-component domino reaction of 4-aminocoumarins, arylglyoxal monohydrates, and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds in refluxing ethanol without the use of catalyst is reported. Abstract:A novel Ag(I)-induced three-component annulation reaction of [60]fullerene with sulfonylhydrazones and nitriles has been developed for the efficient synthesis of diverse disubstituted [60]fullerene-fused dihydropyrroles. The reaction exhibits a broad substrate scope and excellent functional-group tolerance, and also allows for the synthesis of fullerene-bound macromolecules.

Abstract:A highly diastereoselective [3 + 2] cycloaddition of aziridines with difluorinated silyl enol ethers has been developed. This approach provides a facile methodology for highly functionalized gem-difluorinated pyrrolidines in good to excellent yields with good functional group tolerance. A one-pot, two-step approach for synthesis of structurally interesting fluorinated pyrroles has also been developed through a cycloaddition/aromatization/desulfonation sequence. Moreover, readily available substrates, mild reaction conditions, and easy scale-up synthesis show practical advantages.

Abstract:The (+/-)-cis-5-arylcarbamoyl-2-ethoxycarbonylpyrrolidines 6a-g were firstly synthesized in 53-64% yields by using meso-diethyl-2,5-dibromoadipate 3 and (S)-(-)-1-phenylethylamine in three steps. The diastereomeric mixture (S;2S,5R)-(-)-7 and (S;2R,5S)-(+)-8 were prepared by the Grignard reaction and separated by a flash column chromatography in 29 and 52% yields. The absolute configurations of (+)-8 was confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis and the enantiopure pyrrolidines (2S,5R)-(-)-9/(2R,5S)-(+)-9 and (2S,5R)-(-)-10/(2R,5S)-(+)-10 were obtained in good yields.

Abstract:A series of non-annulated products: trifluoromethylpyrazolone-tethered trisubstituted methane derivatives were synthesized in high yields in acetonitrile solvent catalyzed by NH4OAc via one-pot, three-component reactions of 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, aromatic aldehydes and 1-aryl-3-trifluoromethyl-5-pyrazolone. Treatment of trifluoromethylpyrazolone-tethered trisubstituted methane derivatives with the dehydrating agent SOCl2/Pyridine in acetonitrile afforded the corresponding annulated fused polyheterocyclic products trifluoromethylated benzo[6,7]chromeno[2,3-c]pyrazole-5,10-dione derivatives. Furthermore, an efficient, straightforward protocol has been developed for the synthesis of trifluoromethylated benzo[6,7]chromeno[2,3-c]pyrazole-5,10-dione derivatives at medium yields via one-pot, two-step, three-component reactions. Meanwhile, the structures of typical products were further confirmed by XRD-analysis.

Abstract:Under mild conditions, C3-quaternary 2H-pyrrolines can be convergently and efficiently assembled by Cu(II) and weak bases cocatalyzed [3+2] cycloaddition of 1,1-disubstituted alkenes and isocyanoacetates. Various functionalities can be tolerated, affording 2H-pyrrolines with up to two quaternary centers in a single step.

Abstract:Novel tetra-N-confused cyclohexapyrrole is synthesized for the first time via condensation of tripyrrinonealdehyde with bis(2,4-dimethylpyrrole-3-yl)methane in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate. Abstract:By oxidation of an alternately N-confused bilane in CH2Cl2, a C-N fused tetrapyrrin was synthesized that bears a 5.5.5-tricyclic ring generated from an intramolecular C-N linkage. When CH3CN was used as the reaction medium, a multiply C-N-fused octapyrrolic dimer was also obtained that contained two 5.5.5.7.5-pentacyclic moieties and a bipyrrole unit generated from the intramolecular C-N linkage and intermolecular C-C linkage, respectively. This could be coordinated with Ni(acac)2 to afford a mixed-ligand complex.

Abstract:A highly efficient protocol for the synthesis of pyrrolidones by the copper‐catalyzed alkynylation/annulation of aliphatic amides with alkynyl carboxylic acids is discussed in this paper. A broad range of easily accessible alkynyl carboxylic acids were introduced at the β‐methyl group of aliphatic amides with the assistance of an 8‐aminoquinolyl auxiliary group via decarboxylation to achieve the subsequent cyclic CN bond formation within one hour. High selectivity of β‐methyl groups over methylene groups was observed, and the extension of this catalytic system to the activation of methylene CH bonds failed. The substrates with two different groups at the α‐position of the aliphatic amides lead to the formation of diastereoisomers which is determined by 1H NMR spectroscopy. The initially produced products with Z‐configurations can be easily transformed to the corresponding products with E‐configurations by the treatment with dilute p‐toluenesulfonic acid after the reaction. This catalytic tandem decarboxylative cyclization provides a new opportunity for the direct functionalization of sp3 CH bonds.

Abstract:Herein, an atom-economic method for the synthesis of fused-ring pyrrolizine derivatives by a cycloaddition reaction of easily accessible N -substituted pyrrole-2-carboxaldehydes with N -substituted maleimides in the presence of di- tert -butyl peroxide has been successfully developed. A total of 23 compounds were obtained by using this method, with a maximum yield of 72%, providing a practical and efficient method for the synthesis of tricyclic pyrrolizine frameworks.
