Abstract:By using the interior curvature estimate and Gromov's compactness theorem, we prove that a stable complete minimal hypersurface in R n +1 with finite total scalar curvature must be a hyperplane. This extends the result obtained by P. Bérard in Remarques sur l'équation de J. Simons, Pitman Monographs Surveys Pure Appl. Math. , vol. 52, 1991, pp. 47-57.

Abstract:In this paper we study the classification of the f-minimal hypersurface immersed in the manifold M-n x R, where (M-n, g) is an Einstein manifold with positive Ricci curvature. Abstract:By using curvature estimates, we prove that a complete non-compact hypersurface M with constant mean curvature and finiteL n -norm curvature in R n+1 must be minimal, so that M is a hyperplane if it is strongly stable. This is a generalization of the result on stable complete minimal hypersurfaces of R n+1. Moreover, complete strongly stable hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature and finite L 1-norm curvature in R n+1 are considered.

Abstract:We show that the combination of non-negative sectional curvature (or $2$-intermediate Ricci curvature) and strict positivity of scalar curvature forces rigidity of complete (non-compact) two-sided stable minimal hypersurfaces in a $4$-manifold with bounded curvature. In particular, this implies the nonexistence of complete two-sided stable minimal hypersurface in a closed $4$-manifold with positive sectional curvature. Our work leads to new comparison results. We also construct various examples showing rigidity of stable minimal hypersurfaces can fail under other curvature conditions.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to prove two results concerning the rigidity of complete, immersed, orientable, stable minimal hypersurfaces: we show that they are hyperplane in R 4 , while they do not exist in positively curved closed Riemannian ( n +1)-manifold when n ≤5; in particular, there are no stable minimal hypersurfaces in S n +1 when n ≤5. The first result was recently proved also by Chodosh and Li, and the second is a consequence of a more general result concerning minimal surfaces with finite index. Both theorems rely on a conformal method, inspired by a classical work of Fischer-Colbrie.

Abstract:In this paper, we study $n$-dimensional complete minimal hypersurfaces in a hyperbolic space $H^{n+1}(-1)$ of constant curvature $-1$. We prove that a $3$-dimensional complete minimal hypersurface with constant scalar curvature in $H^{4}(-1)$ satisfies $S\leq \frac{21}{29}$ by making use of the Generalized Maximum Principle, where $S$ denotes the squared norm of the second fundamental form of the hypersurface.

Abstract:We derive some estimates for stable minimal hypersurfaces in $R^{n+1}$. The estimates are related to recent proofs of Bernstein theorems for complete stable minimal hypersurfaces in $R^{n+1}$ for $3\le n\le 5$ by Chodosh-Li, Chodosh-Li-Minter-Stryker and Mazet. In particular, the estimates indicate that the methods in their proofs may not work for $n=6$, which is observed also by Antonelli-Xu and Mazet. The method of derivation in this work might also be applied to other problems.

Abstract:In this paper, we study geometry of totally real minimal surfaces in the complex hyperquadric $Q_{N-2}$, and obtain some characterizations of the harmonic sequence generated by these minimal immersions. For totally real flat surfaces that are minimal in both $Q_{N-2}$ and $\mathbb{C}P^{N-1}$, we determine them for $N=4, 5, 6$, and give a classification theorem when they are Clifford solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we extend several results established for stable minimal hypersurfaces to $\delta$-stable minimal hypersurfaces. These include the regularity and compactness theorems for immersed $\delta$-stable minimal hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ when $n \geq 3$ and $\delta > \frac{n-2}{n}$, as well as the $\delta$-stable Bernstein theorem for $n=3$ and $n=4$ for properly immersion. The range of $\delta$ is optimal, as the $n$-dimensional catenoid in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ is $\frac{n-2}{n}$-stable.

Abstract:Let $M^4\to \mathbb{S}^5$ be a closed immersed minimal hypersurface with constant squared length of the second fundamental form $S$ in a $5$-dimensional sphere $\mathbb{S}^5$. In this paper, we prove that if $3$-mean curvature $H_3$ and the number $g$ of the distinct principal curvatures are constant, then $M^4$ is an isoparametric hypersurface, and the value of $S$ can only be $0, 4, 12$. This result supports Chern Conjecture.

Abstract:For each large enough $m\in\mathbb{N}$ we construct by PDE gluing methods a closed embedded smooth minimal hypersurface ${\breve{M}_m}$ doubling the equatorial three-sphere $\mathbb{S}_{\mathrm{eq}}^3$ in $\mathbb{S}^4(1)$, with ${\breve{M}_m}$ containing $m^2$ bridges modelled after the three-dimensional catenoid and centered at the points of a square $m\times m$ lattice $L$ contained in the Clifford torus $\mathbb{T}^2\subset \mathbb{S}_{\mathrm{eq}}^3$. This answers a long-standing question of Yau in the case of $\mathbb{S}^4(1)$ and long-standing questions of Hsiang. Similarly we construct a self-shrinker ${\breve{M}_{\mathrm{shr},m}}$ of the Mean Curvature Flow in $\mathbb{R}^4$ doubling the three-dimensional spherical self-shrinker $\mathbb{S}_{\mathrm{shr}}^3\subset \mathbb{R}^4$ with the bridges centered at the points of a square $m\times m$ lattice $L$ contained in a Clifford torus $\mathbb{T}^2\subset \mathbb{S}_{\mathrm{shr}}^3$. Both constructions respect the symmetries of the lattice $L$ as a subset of $\mathbb{S}^4(1)$ or $\mathbb{R}^4$ and are based on the Linearized Doubling (LD) methodology which was first introduced in the construction of minimal surface doublings of $\mathbb{S}_{\mathrm{eq}}^2$ in $\mathbb{S}^3(1)$. Furthermore $\breve{M}_m$ converges as $m \to\infty$ in the varifold sense to $2\mathbb{S}_{\mathrm{eq}}^3$, and its volume $|\breve{M}_m| < 2|\mathbb{S}_{\mathrm{eq}}^3|$.
