Abstract:By using the methods including Weyl ’s difference principle,large deviation theorem, avalanche principle and so on,we considered the problem of the Lyapunov exponent positivity and continuity of the discrete analytic Schr?dinger operator defined by the high order skew shift Tω.We proved that if the potential energy factor was big enough,then the Lyapunov exponent of the system was positive and week H?lder continuity.This results extended the conclusion about the Lyapunov exponent positivity and continuity with the lower order skew shift to the one with the high order skew shift.

Abstract:We consider the Klein--Gordon equation associated with the Laplace--Beltrami operator $\Delta$ on real hyperbolic spaces of dimension $n\!\ge\!2$; as $\Delta$ has a spectral gap, the wave equation is a particular case of our study. After a careful kernel analysis, we obtain dispersive and Strichartz estimates for a large family of admissible couples. As an application, we prove global well--posedness results for the corresponding semilinear equation with low regularity data.

Abstract:This article investigates the wave equation for the Schrödinger operator on $\mathbb{R}^{n}$, denoted as $\mathcal{H}_0:=-\Delta+V$, where $\Delta$ is the standard Laplacian and $V$ is a complex-valued multiplication operator. We prove that the operator $\mathcal{H}_0$, with $\operatorname{Re}(V)\geq 0$ and $\operatorname{Re}(V)(x)\to\infty$ as $|x|\to\infty$, has a purely discrete spectrum under certain conditions. In the spirit of Colombini, De Giorgi, and Spagnolo, we also prove that the Cauchy problem with regular coefficients is well-posed in the associated Sobolev spaces, and when the propagation speed is Hölder continuous (or more regular), it is well-posed in Gevrey spaces. Furthermore, we prove that it is very weakly well-posed when the coefficients possess a distributional singularity.

Abstract:In this article, we investigate the semiclassical version of the wave equation for the discrete Schrödinger operator, $\mathcal{H}_{\hbar,V}:=-\hbar^{-2}\mathcal{L}_{\hbar}+V$ on the lattice $\hbar\mathbb{Z}^{n},$ where $\mathcal{L}_{\hbar}$ is the discrete Laplacian, and $V$ is a non-negative multiplication operator. We prove that $\mathcal{H}_{\hbar,V}$ has a purely discrete spectrum when the potential $V$ satisfies the condition $|V(k)|\to \infty$ as $|k|\to\infty$. We also show that the Cauchy problem with regular coefficients is well-posed in the associated Sobolev type spaces and very weakly well-posed for distributional coefficients. Finally, we recover the classical solution as well as the very weak solution in certain Sobolev type spaces as the limit of the semiclassical parameter $\hbar\to 0$.

The Liouville equation for this problem is solved by finding the density matrix satisfying von Newmann-like equation in the form of product of wave functions. Abstract:Wave/Schrödinger equations with potentials naturally originates from both the quantum physics and the study of nonlinear equations. The distractive Coulomb potential is a quantum mechanical description of distractive Coulomb force between two particles with the same charge. The spectrum of the operator $-\Delta +1/|x|$ is well known and there are also a few results on the Strichartz estimates, local and global well-posedness and scattering result about the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a distractive Coulomb potential. In the contrast, much less is known for the global and asymptotic behaviour of solutions to the corresponding wave equations with a Coulomb potential. In this work we consider the wave equation with a distractive Coulomb potential in dimensions $d\geq 3$. We first describe the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions to the linear homogeneous Coulomb wave equation, especially their energy distribution property and scattering profiles, then show that the radial finite-energy solutions to suitable defocusing Coulomb wave equation are defined for all time and scatter in both two time directions, by establishing a family of radial Strichartz estimates and combining them with the decay of the potential energy.

Abstract:We establish sharp pointwise kernel estimates and dispersive properties for the wave equation on noncompact symmetric spaces of general rank. This is achieved by combining the stationary phase method and the Hadamard parametrix, and in particular, by introducing a subtle spectral decomposition, which allows us to overcome a well-known difficulty in higher rank analysis, namely the fact that the Plancherel density is not a differential symbol in general. As consequences, we deduce the Strichartz inequality for a large family of admissible pairs and prove global well-posedness results for the corresponding semilinear equation with low regularity data as on hyperbolic spaces.

Abstract:Using the pseudo-invariant operator method, we investigate the model of a particle with a time-dependent mass in a complex time-dependent symmetric potential well $V\left( x,t\right) =if\left(t\right) \left\vert x\right\vert$. The problem is exactly solvable and the analytic expressions of the Schrödinger wavefunctions are given in terms of the Airy function. Indeed, with an appropriate choice of the time-dependent metric operators and the unitary transformations, for each region, the two corresponding pseudo-Hermitian invariants transform into a well-known time-independent Hermitian invariant which is the Hamiltonian of a particle confined in a symmetric linear potential well. The eigenfunctions of the last invariant are the Airy functions. Then, the phases obtained are real for both regions and the general solution to the problem is deduced.

This model retains a form of scale invariance, and utilizing this property, we demonstrate the asymptotic completeness of wave operators and Strichartz estimates for linear propagators.

Abstract:We show that despite the fundamentally different situations, the wave functional of the vacuum in a resonator is identical to that of free space. The infinite product of Gaussian ground state wave functions defining the wave functional of the vacuum translates into an exponential of a sum rather than an integral over the squares of mode amplitudes weighted by the mode volume and a power of the mode wave number. We express this sum by an integral of a bilinear form of the field containing a kernel given by a function of the square root of the negative Laplacian acting on a transverse delta function. For transverse fields it suffices to employ the familiar delta function which allows us to obtain explicit expressions for the kernels of the vector potential, the electric field and the magnetic induction. We show for the example of the vector potential that different mode expansions lead to different kernels. Lastly, we show that the kernels have a close relationship with the Wightman correlation functions of the fields.

Abstract:In accordance with the Keller-Maslov global WKB theory, a semiclassical scalar wave field is best encoded as a triple consisting of (i) a Lagrangian submanifold Λ in the ray phase space, (ii) a density μ on Λ, and (iii) an overall phase factor ϕ. We present the Hamiltonian structure of the Cauchy problem for such a "geometric semiclassical state" in the special case where the wave operator is Hermetian. Variational, symplectic, and Poisson formulations of the time evolution equations for (Λ,μ,ϕ) are identitfied. Because we work in terms of the Keller-Maslov global WKB ansatz, as opposed to the more restrictive ψ=a exp(i S/ϵ), all of our results are insensitive to the presence of caustics. In particular, because the variational principle is insensitive to caustics, the latter may be used to construct structure-perserving numerical integrators for scalar wave equations.
An Efficient WLP-Based Method with Operator Splitting Technique for Solving Wave Equation

Abstract:In this paper, an efficient weighted Laguerre polynomial (WLP) approach with the operator splitting technique is proposed for solving the wave equation. By applying the WLP to eliminate the time variable, the stability limitation of time step in transient simulation is removed. To avoid solving the huge matrix formed by the WLP-based method, an operator splitting scheme using three sub-steps is developed to efficiently implement the marching-on-in-order procedure, by which a linear complexity can be achieved. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method are validated by the numerical examples.

Abstract:We derive a scheme by which to solve the Liouville equation perturbatively in the nonlinearity, which we apply to weakly nonlinear classical field theories. Our solution is a variant of the Prigogine diagrammatic method, and is based on an analogy between the Liouville equation in infinite volume and scattering in quantum mechanics, described by the Lippmann-Schwinger equation. The motivation for our work is wave turbulence: a broad class of nonlinear classical field theories are believed to have a stationary turbulent state -- a far-from-equilibrium state, even at weak coupling. Our method provides an efficient way to derive properties of the weak wave turbulent state. A central object in these studies, which is a reduction of the Liouville equation, is the kinetic equation, which governs the occupation numbers of the modes. All properties of wave turbulence to date are based on the kinetic equation found at leading order in the weak nonlinearity. We explicitly obtain the kinetic equation to next-to-leading order.

Here, a,b are nonnegative continuous potentials, and µ1,µ2 > 0. We consider the case where the coupling constant β > 0 is relatively large. Then for sufficiently smalle > 0, we obtain positive solutions of this system which concentrate around local minima of the potentials as e → 0. The novelty is that the potentials a and b may vanish at someplace and decay to 0 at infinity.

Abstract:We consider the unique recovery of a non compactly supported and non periodic perturbation of a Schrödinger operator in an unbounded cylindrical domain, also called waveguide, from boundary measurements. More precisely, we prove recovery of general class of electric potentials from the partial Dirichlet-to-Neumann map, where the Dirichlet data is supported on slightly more than half of the boundary and the Neumann data is taken on the other half of the boundary. We apply this result in different context including recovery of some general class of coefficients from measurements on a bounded subset and recovery of an electric potential, supported on an unbounded cylinder, of a Schrödinger operator in a slab.

Abstract:In this paper, we have considered a modified Noguchi nonlinear transmission network with a dispersive element. Using the reductive perturbation method in the semi-discrete limit, we show how wave dynamics in the network can be governed by a cubic–quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (CQ-NLSE) with an external linear potential. Through the modified Darboux transformation, we constructed the first, second and third order rogue wave solutions. Although the linear potential function Γ ( τ ) does not influence the instability criterion of waves propagating in the network, it has a significant effect on the dynamics of the amplitude, phase and shirp of rogue waves. Our results also reveal that it is possible both to predict the position where the amplitude of rogue waves reaches its maximum value and to reduce their spatial width.
