What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problem that this paper attempts to solve is to enhance the magnetic response of Ti₃C₂Tₓ MXene by doping it with Co and Ni elements. Specifically, the authors achieved a uniform distribution of Co and Ni by mixing Ti₃C₂Tₓ MXene with a diluted metal chloride solution, and the concentrations of these elements are approximately 2 and 7 at% relative to the concentration of Ti, respectively. The experimental results show that this doping method can increase the magnetic susceptibility of Ti₃C₂Tₓ MXene by one to two orders of magnitude compared to the undoped sample, thus demonstrating the potential for enhancing the linear magnetic response at room temperature by doping a small amount of metal. This provides a new strategy for developing MXene materials with customized magnetic responses, especially for applications in fields such as information processing, energy generation, and biomedical imaging.
