Abstract:The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between quantitative flow ratio (QFR) after drug-coated balloon (DCB) treatment for in-stent restenosis (ISR) and between neointimal characteristics assessed by optical coherence tomography (OCT) and clinical outcomes. This single-center, retrospective, observational cohort study included ISR patients who underwent DCB angioplasty under OCT guidance. The primary outcome of the study was a patient-oriented composite endpoint (POCE), defined as a composite endpoint of all-cause mortality, any stroke, any myocardial infarction, or any revascularization.During a median follow-up of 630 (IQR: 397–886) days, 147 ISR patients underwent OCT-guided DCB angioplasty, resulting in POCE development in 20 patients. At the post-procedural DCB angioplasty, the vessel-level QFR was significantly lower in the POCE group(0.88 [IQR:0.87, 0.90] vs 0.93 [IQR: 0.91, 0.95]; P < 0.001) than in the non-POCE group. Analysis of the qualitative characteristics of ISR lesions showed a significantly higher incidence of heterogeneous neointima in the POCE group compared with the non-POCE group (10 [50.00%] vs 12 [9.45%]; P < 0.001). In the multivariable Cox regression analysis, low vessel-level QFR (HR per 0.1 increase: 0.11; 95% CI: 0.03–0.39;P < 0.001) and heterogeneous neointima were independently associated with POCE. The POCE rate of vessels with the 2 features was 17.94 times higher than that of all other vessels (95%CI [2.91–110.6]; log-rank P < 0.001). Vessel-level QFR and heterogeneous neointima were independent factors associated with POCE in ISR patients after DCB angioplasty. Adding the QFR measure-ment to OCT findings may enable better discrimination of patients with subsequent POCE post-DCB angioplasty for ISR.

Abstract:ObjectivesThis study aims to compare the clinical outcomes of patients with de novo chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesions treated by hybrid strategy and drug-coated balloons (DCB)-only strategy.BackgroundsDCBs have been used as an alternative to or in combination with drug-eluting stents in CTO lesions. However, the clinical impact of DCB treatment on CTO lesion remains uncertain.MethodsWe retrospectively enrolled 154 patients with de novo CTO lesions treated by DCB, including 57 cases in hybrid group and 97 cases in DCB-only group.ResultsThe lesions in hybrid group were more complicated than those in DCB-only group as shown by higher J-CTO score, and therefore higher percentage of retrograde approach, more IVUS guidance, more CTO guidewires, and longer procedural time were demonstrated. Although the percentage of non-flow-limiting dissection and residual stenosis of more than 30% were lower in hybrid group, TIMI flow grade, satisfactory and acceptable recanalization rate were not significantly different between two groups. During a median follow-up was 470 days, the incidence of target lesion revascularization (TLR), myocardial infarction and cardiac death was 11.0%, 1.3% and 1.9%, respectively. The long-term TLR-free survival was comparable between hybrid and DCB-only groups. By multivariate analysis, DCB length and age were predictors of TLR.ConclusionDCB treatment appears effective and safe in selected de novo CTO lesions during long-term follow up. The recanalization results and long-term outcomes are comparable between hybrid and DCB-only group despite more complicated lesions in hybrid group.

Abstract:The aim of the present study was to evaluate the angiographic efficacy, clinical safety, and effectiveness of the Restore paclitaxel-coated balloon in a randomized trial designed to enable the approval of the new device in China. Drug-coated balloon (DCB) angioplasty offers an effective treatment for in-stent restenosis. Restore is a new DCB with a SAFEPAX shellac-ammonium salt excipient that can avoid drug washing off during catheter delivery to the target lesion site. In the noninferiority RESTORE ISR China (Compare the Efficacy and Safety of RESTORE DEB and SeQuent Please in Chinese Patient With Coronary In-stent Restenosis) trial, eligible patients with first occurrence of drug-eluting stent ISR were randomized to the Restore DCB or SeQuent Please DCB in a 1:1 ratio stratified by diabetes. Angiographic and clinical follow-up was planned at 9 months and 1 year, respectively, in all patients. The study was powered for the primary endpoint of 9-month in-segment late loss. Between May 2016 and July 2017, a total of 240 subjects at 12 sites were randomized to either the Restore group (n = 120) or the SeQuent Please group (n = 120). Nine-month in-segment late loss was 0.38 ± 0.50 mm with Restore versus 0.35 ± 0.47 mm with SeQuent Please; the 1-sided 97.5% upper confidence limit of the difference was 0.17 mm, achieving noninferiority of Restore compared with SeQuent Please (p for noninferiority = 0.02). Both DCBs had similar 1-year rates of target lesion failure (13.3% vs. 12.6%; p = 0.87). In this head-to-head randomized trial, the Restore DCB was noninferior to the SeQuent Please DCB for the primary endpoint of 9-month in-segment late loss. Abstract:BACKGROUND: The treatment of in-stent restenosis (ISR) after drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation remains challenging in current clinical practice. AIMS: The study was conducted to investigate a novel biolimus-coated balloon (BCB) for the treatment of coronary DES-ISR compared with the best-investigated paclitaxel-coated balloon (PCB). METHODS: This was a prospective, multicentre, randomised, non-inferiority trial comparing a novel BCB with a clinically proven PCB for coronary DES-ISR. The primary endpoint was in-segment late lumen loss (LLL) at 9 months assessed by an independent core laboratory. Baseline and follow-up optical coherence tomography were performed in a prespecified subgroup of patients. RESULTS: A total of 280 patients at 17 centres were randomised to treatment with a BCB (n=140) versus a PCB (n=140). At 9 months, LLL in the BCB group was 0.23 +/- 0.37 mm compared to 0.25 +/- 0.35 mm in the PCB group; the mean difference between the groups was -0.02 (95% confidence interval [CI]: -0.12 to 0.07) mm; p-value for non-inferiority<0.0001. Similar clinical outcomes were also observed for both groups at 12 months. In the optical coherence tomography substudy, the neointimal area at 9 months was 2.32 +/- 1.04 mm (2) in the BCB group compared to 2.37 +/- 0.93 mm (2) in the PCB group; the mean difference between the groups was -0.09 (95% CI: -0.94 to 0.76) mm (2) ; p=non-significant. CONCLUSIONS: This head-to-head comparison of a novel BCB shows similar angiographic outcomes in the treatment of coronary DES-ISR compared with a clinically proven PCB.

Abstract:Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of drug-eluting balloons (DEB) with drug eluting stents (DES) in patients with in-stent restenosis (ISR). Background: DES implantation and DEB were available strategies in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for ISR, but the optimal management for ISR lesions remains controversial. Methods: Electronic databases were searched for randomized controlled trials and observational cohort studies which reported the clinical outcomes of using DEB comparing with DES implantation in patients with ISR. Clinical endpoints such as major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), death, and myocardial infarction were assessed. Results: Five randomized controlled trials and five observational cohort studies with 962 patients in the DEB group and 908 patients in the DES group met inclusion criteria. There was no significant difference between DEB and DES in major clinical outcomes, such as MACE (OR 1.01; 95% Cl: 0.64-1.58; p = 0.97; I-2 = 0%), all-cause death (OR 1.04; 95% CI: 0.54-1.98; p = 0.91; I-2 = 0%), cardiovascular death (OR 1.44; 95% CI: 0.57-3.65; p = 0.44; I-2 = 0%), stent thrombosis (OR 0.61; 95% Cl: 0.16-2.33; p = 0.47; I-2 = 0%), and myocardial infarction (OR 1.02; 95% CI: 0.53-1.94; p = 0.96; I-2 = 0%). DEB was associated with a significant increase in target lesion revascularization (OR 1.54; 95% CI: 1.10-2.15; p = 0.01; I-2 = 57%). Abstract:Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has become the mainstay in the treatment of coronary heart disease (CHD). In the past 10 years, the number of PCI procedures for CHD has maintained an annual growth of 15%–20% on average in China. As a consequence, in-stent restenosis (ISR) has become an increasingly serious problem with the wide application of coronary stents. Certainly, current treatment regimens for ISR are unsatisfactory in some aspects. Coronary artery bypass surgery has many risk factors and contradictions and a second stent implantation is associated with the risk for recurrent ISR and additional stent implantations; the rate of recurrent ISR in lesions after plain old balloon angioplasty is high (up to 27%). Therefore, all these regimens are suboptimal for the treatment of ISR. In recent years, drug-coated balloon (DCB), a novel interventional technique, has been increasingly used in coronary and peripheral artery interventions in Europe and Asia. In China, several DCB products have been or will be marketed for clinical application. The introduction of DCB provides a new choice for the treatment of coronary artery diseases in China. Based on several national and international clinical trials, >20 experienced experts in the PCI field from China have proposed the China expert consensus on clinical application of the DCB with evidence-based validation and session discussion in order to promote the standardized application of the DCB in the treatment of coronary artery diseases in China.

Abstract:Drug‐coated balloon (DCB) catheters offer an alternative to drug‐eluting stents (DES) by delivering anti‐proliferative drugs directly to vessel walls, avoiding implantation of a permanent metallic structure. While DCBs have shown efficacy for in‐stent restenosis, evidence for their application in de novo coronary disease and chronic total occlusion (CTO) PCI is growing. We present a case of a 49‐year‐old male with multivessel chronic total and subtotal occlusions who had complete percutaneous revascularisation using a DCB only strategy. Each lesion had unique characteristics involving its length and location, bifurcation anatomy, and vessel diameter for which this stent‐free approach was favored. DCB use in CTO PCI may be promising in select cases and lesions, and further studies are warranted to ascertain long‐term efficacy in this setting.

Abstract:Background:Treatment of chronic total occlusions (CTOs) is referred to as the last frontier of percutaneous coronary interventions and is currently performed in 10% to 20% of procedures. Improved outcomes with newer generation drug-eluting stents require further research. Methods:The TARGET CTO trial (NCT03040934) is a prospective, multicenter, randomized, noninferiority trial that plans to randomize 196 subjects (1:1) to either a newer-generation sirolimus target-eluting stent or an everolimus-eluting stent. Patients are candidates if they present with at least 1 CTO lesion in a native coronary artery with a diameter of ≥2.50 mm to ≤4.00 mm and a length of <100 mm. In addition, 44 subjects will participate in an optical coherence tomography (OCT) substudy. Clinical follow-up is planned up to 5 years after stent implantation. Angiographic follow-up is planned at 12 months, whereas OCT will be obtained after the procedure, at 3 and 12 months. The primary end point is in-stent late lumen loss by quantitative coronary angiography at 12 months. The key secondary end point is neointimal thickness by OCT at 3 months. Imaging end points are assessed by an independent core lab. Clinical end points are adjudicated by an independent clinical events committee. Conclusion:The TARGET CTO trial compares a sirolimus target-eluting stent with an everolimus-eluting stent for management of CTOs according to contemporary interventional practices. The primary angiographic end points will be reported at 12 months and clinical follow-up will continue for up to 5 years.
Impact of Drug-Coated Balloon-Based Revascularization in Patients with Chronic Total Occlusions

Abstract:Background: Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with a drug-eluting stent (DES) for chronic total coronary occlusions (CTOs) improves clinical symptoms and quality of life. However, data on drug-coated balloon (DCB)-based PCI in CTO lesions are limited. Methods: A total of 200 patients were successfully treated for CTO lesions, either with DCB alone or in combination with DES (DCB-based PCI). They were compared with 661 patients who underwent second-generation DES implantation for CTO from the PTRG-DES registry (DES-only PCI). The endpoint was major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs), which included a composite of cardiac death, myocardial infarction, stent or target lesion thrombosis, target vessel revascularization, and major bleeding at 2 years. Results: In the DCB-based PCI group, 49.0% of patients were treated with DCB only and 51.0% underwent the hybrid approach combining DCB with DES. Bailout stenting was performed in seven patients (3.5%). The DCB-based PCI group exhibited fewer stents (1.0; IQR: 0.0–1.0 and 2.0; IQR: 1.0–3.0, p < 0.001), shorter stent lengths (6.5 mm; IQR: 0.0–38.0 mm and 42.0 mm; IQR: 28.0–67.0 mm, p < 0.001), and lower usage of small stents with a diameter of 2.5 mm or less (9.8% and 36.5%, p < 0.001). Moreover, the DCB-based PCI group had a lower rate of MACEs than the DES-only PCI group (3.1% and 13.2%, p = 0.001) at 2-year follow-up. Conclusions: The DCB-based PCI approach significantly reduced the stent burden, particularly in the usage of small stent diameters, and resulted in a lower risk of MACEs compared to DES-only PCI in CTO lesions.

Abstract:Background and Objectives Use of drug-coated balloon (DCB)-only strategy for revascularization of native large coronary artery lesions is on the rise. The long-term efficacy of this approach for bifurcation and non-bifurcation lesions remains unknown. We aim to assess the long-term clinical outcomes of DCB-only strategy for the treatment of de novo bifurcation and non-bifurcation lesions in large coronary arteries. Methods: This multicenter, prospective, observational study enrolled 119 patients with de novo coronary lesions in vessels ≥2.75 mm. The primary end point was the rate of clinically driven target lesion failure (TLF), a composite of cardiac death, target vessel myocardial infarction, and clinically driven target lesion revascularization (TLR). Patients were followed up for a median of 2 years. Results: Of 119 patients with 138 lesions, 66 patients (75 lesions) had bifurcation and 53 patients (63 lesions) had non-bifurcation lesions. Average reference vessel diameter was 3.1 ± 0.3 mm, and there was no difference in bifurcation and non-bifurcation group (3.0 ± 0.3 vs. 3.1 ± 0.3mm; p = 0.27). At 2-year follow-up, the TLF occurred in five (4.2%), TLR in four (3.4%), and target vessel revascularization (TVR) in five (4.2%) cases. The frequency of TLR and TVR was higher in the non-bifurcation group ( p = 0.04 and 0.02, respectively), but there were no differences in TLF between the two groups ( p = 0.17). The cumulative incidence of TLF (Kaplan–Meier estimates) was also not different in the two groups (log-rank p = 0.11). Conclusion: DCB-only strategy for de novo lesions in large coronary arteries appears to be safe and effective for both bifurcation and non-bifurcation lesions. Further randomized clinical trials are warranted to confirm the value of DCB-only strategy in de novo bifurcation lesions of large vessels.

Abstract:BACKGROUND:Whether the drug-coated balloons (DCBs)-alone strategy was superior to plain old balloon angioplasty (POBA) in treating SVD remains unknown.AIMS:We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of DCBs for the treatment of coronary de novo small vessel disease (SVD) and provide further evidence for extending the clinical indications of DCBs. (ChiCTR1800014966).METHODS:Eligible patients were randomized at a 2:1 ratio to receive DCB treatment or POBA in this prospective, multicenter clinical trial. The reference vessel diameter of lesions was visually assessed to be 2.0 to 2.75 mm. The primary endpoint of the study was angiographic in-segment late luminal loss (LLL) at the 9-month follow-up to demonstrate the superiority of DCB treatment to POBA in SVD. The composite clinical endpoints included clinically driven target lesion revascularization (CD-TLR), target lesion failure (TLF), major adverse cardiac events (MACEs), and thrombosis at the 12-month follow-up.RESULTS:A total of 270 patients were enrolled (181 for DCB, 89 for POBA) at 18 centers in China. The primary endpoint of 9-month in-segment LLL in the intention-to-treat population was 0.10 ± 0.33 mm with DCB and 0.25 ± 0.38 mm with POBA (p = 0.0027). This difference indicated significant superiority of DCB treatment (95% CI: -0.22, -0.04, psuperiority = 0.0068). The rates of the clinical endpoints-CD-TLR, TLF, and MACEs-were comparable between groups. No thrombosis events were reported.CONCLUSIONS:DCB treatment of de novo SVD was superior to POBA with lower 9-month in-segment LLL. The rates of clinical events were comparable between the two devices.

Abstract:Coronary heart disease is a major cause of death and disability in developed countries. Stent implantation has become an efficacious treatment for a culprit lesion vessel of the coronary artery. However, 10%–20% restenosis is still an important complication that restricts the clinical safety and efficacy of drug-eluting stents. In-stent restenosis may lead to the recurrence of major cardiovascular adverse events, including angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction, and even sudden cardiac death. These events are currently serious problems that occur after coronary stent implantation. Clinical physicians face a difficult choice for in-stent restenosis treatment. Recent studies indicate that a drug-coated balloon has promising clinical efficacy similar to the drug-eluting stents for treating coronary in-stent restenosis. Therefore, in this study, we highlight the progress of coronary intervention and the use of drug-coated balloons in the treatment of in-stent restenosis (ISR).

Prospective, large-scale multicenter trial for the use of drug-coated balloons in coronary lesions: The DCB-only All-Comers Registry

Abstract:Objectives: This prospective, observational all-comers registry assessed the safety and efficacy of a Drug Coated Balloon-only strategy (DCB-only) in patients with coronary lesions. Background: Data regarding the performance of a DCB-only approach, especially in patients with previously untreated de-novo coronary artery disease (CAD), are still limited. Methods: This study was conducted as an international, multicenter registry primarily enrolling patients with de-novo CAD. However, it was also possible to include patients with in-stent restenosis (ISR). The primary endpoint was the rate of clinically driven target lesion revascularization (TLR) after 9 months. Results: A total of 1,025 patients with a mean age of 64.0 ± 11.2 years were enrolled. The majority of treated lesions were de-novo (66.9%), followed by drug-eluting-stent ISR (DES-ISR; 22.6%) and bare-metal-stent ISR (BMS-ISR; 10.5%). The TLR rate was lower in the de-novo group (2.3%) when compared to BMS- (2.9%) and DES-ISR (5.8%) (P = 0.049). Regarding MACE, there was a trend toward fewer events in the de-novo group (5.6%) than in the BMS- (7.8%) and DES-ISR cohort (9.6%) (P = 0.131). Subgroup analyses revealed that lesion type (95% CI 1.127-6.587); P = 0.026) and additional stent implantation (95% CI 0.054-0.464; P = 0.001) were associated with higher TLR rates. Conclusions: Our results show that DCB-only angioplasty of de-novo coronary lesions is associated with low MACE and TLR rates. Thus, DCBs appear to be an attractive alternative for the interventional, stentless treatment of suitable de-novo coronary lesions.

Abstract:According to the latest coronary interventional guidelines, a drug-eluting stent is the recommended reperfusion therapy in primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). However, deficiencies and defects, such as in-stent restenosis (ISR), incomplete stent apposition, stent thrombosis, reinfarction after stent implantation, long-term dual antiplatelet drug use, and adverse reactions of metal implants, plague clinicians and patients. Drug-coated balloon (DCB), which delivers antiproliferative agents into the vessel wall without stent implantation and leaves no implants behind after the procedure, is a novel option for percutaneous coronary intervention and has proven to be a promising strategy in cases of ISR, small vessel coronary artery disease, and bifurcation lesions. However, most of the available experience has been gained in elective percutaneous coronary intervention, and experience in pPCI is lacking. The current evidence for the use of DCB-only in pPCI was discussed and analyzed in this review.

A Randomized Comparison of Two Paclitaxel-Coated Balloons for the Treatment of In-Stent Restenosis: the LONGTY ISR China Randomized Trial (LONGTY DCB Vs. SeQuent Please DCB).

Abstract:Objectives This study sought to compare the efficacy and clinical safety of the LONGTY drug-coated balloon (DCB) with those of SeQuent Please DCB in patients with in-stent restenosis (ISR). Background Although DCB technologies have evolved, little is known about the clinical efficacy of the new-generation LONGTY DCB. Methods This was a prospective, multicenter, randomized, noninferiority trial comparing LONGTY DCB with SeQuent Please DCB in patients with ISR. The primary endpoint was target lesion late lumen loss at 9 months' follow-up. Results A total of 211 patients with ISR from 13 Chinese sites were included (LONGTY DCB, n = 105; SeQuent Please DCB, n = 106). Device success was achieved in all patients. At the 9 month angiographic follow-up, target lesion late lumen loss was 0.35 +/- 0.42 mm with LONGTY and 0.38 +/- 0.45 mm with SeQuent Please (p for noninferiority <.001). The target lesion revascularization rates at 1 year were similar in both DCB groups (15.24 vs. 13.21%; p = .673). Over an extended follow-up of 2 years, the clinical endpoints, including cardiac death, myocardial infarction, and thrombus rate, were extremely low and similar in both groups. Conclusions In this multicenter, head-to-head, randomized trial, the new-generation LONGTY DCB was noninferior to the SeQuent Please DCB for the primary endpoint of target lesion late lumen loss at 9 months.

Abstract:Background: Drug-coated balloon (DCB) angioplasty and drug-eluting stents (DES) are two widely used treatments for in-stent restenosis (ISR). Focal and non-focal types of ISR affect the clinical outcomes. The present study aims to compare DES reimplantation versus DCB angioplasty in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients with focal ISR and non-focal ISR lesions. Methods: Patients with ISR lesions underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were retrospectively evaluated and divided into DES group and DCB group. The primary endpoint was the incidence of target lesion failure (TLF) at 24 months follow up. Propensity score matching (PSM) was conducted to balance the baseline characteristics. Results: For focal ISR, TLF was comparable in the DES and DCB groups at 24 months of follow-up (Before PSM, hazard ratio [HR]: 0.70; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.39-1.27; p = 0.244; After PSM, HR: 0.83; 95% CI: 0.40-1.73; p = 0.625). For non-focal ISR, TLF was significantly decreased in DES compared with DCB group (Before PSM, HR: 0.43; 95% CI: 0.29-0.63; p < 0.001; After PSM, HR: 0.33; 95% CI: 0.19-0.59; p < 0.001), which was mainly attributed to the lower incidence of clinically indicated target lesion revascularization (CD-TLR) (Before PSM, HR: 0.39; 95% CI: 0.26-0.59; p < 0.001; After PSM, HR: 0.28; 95% CI: 0.15-0.54; p < 0.001). Conclusions: The clinical outcomes for DES and DCB treatment are similar in focal type of ISR lesions. For non-focal ISR, the treatment of DES showed a significant decrease in TLF which was mainly attributed to a lower incidence of CD-TLR.

Abstract:Background : Despite the advent of newer stents, in-stent restenosis has been a persistent and formidable challenge. Trials have demonstrated the superiority of drug-coated balloons (DCB) over plain-old balloon angioplasty (POBA). A recent AGENT IDE trial highlighted the need for a more comprehensive understanding hence we conducted a meta-analysis aimed at elucidating their respective clinical outcomes. Methods : A literature search was conducted by 2 investigators (SS and MH) using MEDLINE (EMBASE and PubMed) using a systematic search strategy by PRISMA till November 01, 2023. CRAN-R software was used for statistical analysis. The quality assessment was performed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool (Supplemental Table 5). Results : We included 6 studies with a total of 1171 patients. Our analysis showed decreased odds of multiple outcomes with statistically significant results including TVR (OR 0.33, CI 0.19-0.57), TVF (OR 0.30, CI 0.09-0.99), TLR (OR 0.22, CI 0.10-0.46), restenosis (OR 0.1343, CI 0.06-0.27), and MACE (OR 0.2 CI 0.12-0.37). Although MI and all-cause mortality showed decreased odds with all-cause mortality at 0.8 (95% CI: 0.363-2.09), and MI at 0.6 (95% CI: 0.0349-1.07), the reductions did not reach statistical significance. Conclusion : Our analysis by scrutinizing six RCTs favored DCB over POBA. However, extensive research for deeper understanding cannot be overemphasized.

Clinical Observation of Simple Drug Coated Balloon Angioplasty in the Treatment of Coronary Bifurcation Lesions

Abstract:Objective To investigate the safety and efficacy of side branch treatment with drug coated balloon (DCB) in coronary bifurcation lesions.Methods 31 patients with bifurcation lesions in Department of Cardiology of our hospital from November 2014 to July 2016 were selected in this study (main branches stenosis ＜ 50％,branch stenosis ＞ 70％;cahber of branch vessel≥2mm) and treated with simple DCB in branch vessel.The success rate of operation,blood flow of the branch vessels and incidence of comphcations were observed.Quantitifying coronary angiography (QCA) analysis was done after 9 months and the major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) were recorded during 9 months' follow-up as well.Results Of 33 coronary bifurcation lesions in 31 patients,57.58％ were located in left anterior descending artery/diagonal branches,30.30％ were located in circumflex aaery/obtuse marginal branches,and 12.12％ were located in right coronary artery/posterior descending artery or posterior branch of left ventricle.31 patiems successfully completed the imervemional treatment of bifurcation lesions with 100％ success rate.All the procedure was transradial approach.Branch vascular dissection was found only in two cases (one with TIMI flow grade ＜ 2) and drug-eluting stents were used as the remedial measure.During perioperative and postoperative clinical visit (outpatient or telephone follow-up),no MCAE such as death or acute myocardial infarction (AMI) occurred.Angiographic follow-up was finished in 74.19％ of the patients.There was only one patient underwem target lesion revascularization (TLR).Late lumen loss (LLL) was (0.13 ± 0.25) mm.Condusions It is a safe and effective strategy to use DCB as a standalone procedure for side branch in patients with coronary bifurcation lesions.
