Abstract:Potentials of the heat conduction operator constructed by means of 2 binary Backlund transformations are studied in detail. Corresponding Darboux transformations of the Jost solutions are introduced. We show that these solutions obey modified integral equations and present their analyticity properties.

Abstract:The effective cone of a Mori dream space admits two wall-and-chamber decompositions called Mori chamber and stable base locus decompositions. In general the former is a non trivial refinement of the latter. We investigate, from both the geometrical and the combinatorial viewpoints, the differences between these decompositions. Furthermore, we provide a criterion to establish whether the two decompositions coincide for a Mori dream space of Picard rank two, and we construct an explicit example of a Mori dream space of Picard rank two for which the decompositions are different, showing that our criterion is sharp. Finally, we classify the smooth toric 3-folds of Picard rank three for which the two decompositions are different.

Abstract:We prove that a GIT chamber quotient of an affine variety $X=Spec(A)$ by a reductive group $G$, where $A$ is an almost factorial domain, is a Mori dream space if it is projective, regardless of the codimension of the unstable locus. This includes an explicit description of the Picard number, the pseudoeffective cone, and the Mori chambers in terms of GIT. We apply the results to quiver moduli, to show that they are Mori dream spaces if the quiver contains no oriented cycles, and if stability and semistability coincide. We give a formula for the Picard number in quiver terms. As a second application we prove that geometric quotients of Mori dream spaces are Mori dream spaces as well, which again includes a description of the Picard number and the Mori chambers. Some examples are given to illustrate the results.

Abstract:Our goal is twofold. On one hand we show that the cones of divisors ample in codimension $k$ on a Mori dream space are rational polyhedral. On the other hand we study the duality between such cones and the cones of $k$-moving curves by means of the Mori chamber decomposition of the former. We give a new proof of the weak duality property (already proved by Payne and Choi) and we exhibit an interesting family of examples for which strong duality holds.

Abstract:Let X be a smooth Mori dream space of dimension at least 4. We show that, if X satisfies a suitable GIT condition which we call "small unstable locus", then every smooth ample divisor Y of X is also a Mori dream space. Moreover, the restriction map identifies the Neron-Severi spaces of X and Y, and under this identification every Mori chamber of Y is a union of some Mori chambers of X, and the nef cone of Y is the same as the nef cone of X. This Lefschetz-type theorem enables one to construct many examples of Mori dream spaces by taking "Mori dream hypersurfaces" of an ambient Mori dream space, provided that it satisfies the GIT condition. To facilitate this, we then show that the GIT condition is stable under taking products and taking the projective bundle of the direct sum of at least three line bundles, and in the case when X is toric, we show that the condition is equivalent to the fan of X being 2-neighborly.

Abstract:We construct a correspondence between Mori dream regions arising from small modifications of normal projective varieties and $\mathbb{C}^*$-actions on polarized pairs which are bordisms. Moreover, we show that the Mori dream regions constructed in this way admit a chamber decomposition on which the models are the geometric quotients of the $\mathbb{C}^*$-action. In addition we construct, from a given $\mathbb{C}^*$-action on a polarized pair for which there exist at least two admissible geometric quotients, a $\mathbb{C}^*$-equivariantly birational $\mathbb{C}^*$-variety, whose induced action is a bordism, called the pruning of the variety.

Abstract:We investigate nef and movable cones of hypersurfaces in Mori dream spaces. The first result is: Let $Z$ be a smooth Mori dream space of dimension at least four whose extremal contractions are of fiber type of relative dimension at least two and let $X$ be a smooth ample divisor in $Z$, then $X$ is a Mori dream space as well. The second result is: Let $Z$ be a Fano manifold of dimension at least four whose extremal contractions are of fiber type and let $X$ be a smooth anti-canonical hypersurface in $Z$, which is a smooth Calabi--Yau variety, then the unique minimal model of $X$ up to isomorphism is $X$ itself, and moreover, the movable cone conjecture holds for $X$, namely, there exists a rational polyhedral cone which is a fundamental domain for the action of birational automorphisms on the effective movable cone of $X$. The third result is: Let $P:= \mathbb{P}^n \times \cdots \times \mathbb{P}^n$ be the $N$-fold self-product of the $n$-dimensional projective space. Let $X$ be a general complete intersection of $n+1$ hypersurfaces of multidegree $(1, \dots, 1)$ in $P$ with $\dim X \geq 3$. Then $X$ has only finitely many minimal models up to isomorphism, and moreover, the movable cone conjecture holds for $X$.

Abstract:We say a smooth projective surface $X$ satisfies the bounded cohomology property if there exists a positive constant $c_X$ such that $h^1(\mathcal O_X(C))\le c_Xh^0(\mathcal O_X(C))$ for every prime divisor $C$ on $X$. Let the closed Mori cone $\mathrm{NE}(X)=\mathbb R_{\ge0}[C_1]+\mathbb R_{\ge0}[C_2]$ such that $C_1$ and $C_2$ with $C_2^2<0$ are some curves on $X$. If either (i) the Kodaira dimension $\kappa(X)\le1$ or (ii) $\kappa(X)=2$, the irregularity $q(X)=0$ and the Iitaka dimension $\kappa(X,C_1)=1$, then we prove that $X$ satisfies the bounded cohomology property.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the divisor theory of the Simpson moduli space of semistable sheaves of dimension 1 on the projective plane. We prove that these spaces are all Mori dream spaces, and calculate their nef cones. We also study the effective cones of these spaces for most choices of numerical invariants. As a consequence, we work out precisely when two such spaces are isomorphic.

Abstract:We classify all smooth projective horospherical varieties with Picard number 1. We prove that the automorphism group of any such variety X acts with at most two orbits and that this group still acts with only two orbits on X blown up at the closed orbit. We characterize all smooth projective two-orbits varieties with Picard number 1 that satisfy this latter property.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a criterion to assess both the effectiveness and ampleness of divisors on fake quadrics. As applications, we first demonstrate that the fake quadric $S$ possesses the bounded cohomology property. This property is characterized by the existence of a positive constant $c_{S}$ such that $$h^1(\CO_S(C))\leq c_S h^0(\CO_S(C))$$ for every curve $C \subset S$. Subsequently, we show that no fake quadric can be embedded in $\mathbb P^4$. Finally, we conclude that any simply-connected fake quadric $S$ is not a Mori dream space, and if the linear system $\rvert C \rvert >0$, then arithmetic genus $p_{a}(C)\geq 6$. We believe that this result may offer insights for solving the problem of the existence of simply-connected fake quadric.

Abstract:We show that the Satake-Baily-Borel compactification of the moduli space of lattice polarized K3 surfaces parametrizing K3 surfaces of degree 2 with four rational double points of type $D_4$ is the projective 3-space. We also show that the corresponding graded ring of automorphic forms is generated by four elements of weight 2 and one element of weight 11 with one relation of weight 22.

Abstract:We introduce a compact moduli scheme of marked noncommutative cubic surfaces as the GIT moduli scheme of relations of a quiver associated with a full strong exceptional collection on a cubic surface. It is a toric variety containing the configuration space of six points on a plane in general position as a locally closed subvariety, and birationally parametrizes a class of AS-regular $\mathbb{Z}$-algebras.
