Abstract:The explosive popularity of ChatGPT around the world gave us the first real tipping point in public acceptance of AI. Finally, everyone, everywhere can see the breakthrough potential of this technology for themselves. Large language models (LLM) and the fundamental models underlying these advances in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) represent a significant turning point. Not only have they cracked the code of language complexity, allowing machines to learn context, infer intent, and be independent creative individuals, but they can be quickly configured to perform a wide variety of different tasks. This technology should fundamentally change everything — from science, business, health care to, in fact, society itself. The positive impact on human creativity and productivity will be enormous. Companies will use these models to rethink the way work is done. Every role in every enterprise has the potential to be reimagined, as AI people working as co-pilots become the norm, greatly expanding their capabilities. Generative AI will affect tasks, not professions. Some of these tasks will be automated, some will be transformed by artificial intelligence, and some will remain unchanged. It can also be expected that humans will face a large number of new challenges, such as ensuring the accurate and responsible use of GenAI systems. That's why organizations that invest in training people to work with generative AI will have a significant advantage.

Abstract:The allure of emerging AI technologies is undoubtedly thrilling. However, the promise that AI technologies will benefit all of humanity is empty so long as we lack a nuanced understanding of what humanity is supposed to be in the face of widening global inequality and pressing existential threats. Going forward, it is crucial to invest in rigorous and collaborative AI safety and ethics research. We also need to develop standards in a sustainable and equitable way that differentiate between merely speculative and well-researched questions. Only the latter enable us to co-construct and deploy the values that are necessary for creating beneficial AI. Failure to do so could result in a future in which our AI technological advancements outstrip our ability to navigate their ethical and social implications. This path we do not want to go down.

Abstract:We discuss the wonderful accomplishment that ChatGPT, a chatbot launched by OpenAI in November 2022, is. We connect this milestone to previous research, which suggests that language is but the first step towards creating Artificial Intelligence (AI). We list several steps to help all of us, with specific pointers related to ChatGPT, get to the next level in creating Artificial Intelligence (AI). We point out that OpenAI may not be as open as it sounds. As closed as OpenAI might be, their creation ChatGPT is undoubtedly an inspiration bound to evoke feelings of true love at first chat.We highlight the principal requirement for all intelligent systems, including ChatGPT, which is the inclusion of the principle of inclusion. We suggest subject classification codes and headings, which are to be included in various disciplines as artificial as they are, aimed at incorporating the principle of inclusion and the creation of “The Universal Identity”. We look at several crucial pedagogical possibilities, both for ChatGPT and the rest of us. We also have a discussion of the many concerns people have, about improvements in AI making jobs redundant, and why there might be a positive side to it. We mathematically prove that taking the first step equals making infinite progress, in this quest for AI and everything else. We discuss computer code generation by computers and why computers are more naturally suited for writing computer programs. We describe reasons why the Turing Test is irrelevant in gauging intelligence. It is very likely that our pursuit of AI might be misleading. Intelligence could be an unintended consequence of curiosity left to roam free, best exemplified by a frolicking infant. This suggests that our attempts at AI could have been misguided. What we actually need to strive for can be termed artificial curiosity, AC, and intelligence happens as a consequence of those efforts. We conclude with a conundrum, which should not really be that much of a challenge since it is a no brainer that needs no intelligence, as to what is it that we really want: Artificial Intelligence or Real Consciousness. And once we start to search for real consciousness, another unintended yet welcome consequence might be that, we will find pure happiness. There is nothing artificial about the path to absolute happiness, it is very authentic and well within reach.

ChatGPT is a Large Language Model (LLM) based on Transformer architecture that has the ability to generate human-like responses in a conversational context. It uses deep learning algorithms to generate natural language responses to input text. Its large number of parameters, contextual generation, and open-domain training make it a versatile and effective tool for a wide range of applications, from chatbots to customer service to language translation. It has the potential to revolutionize various industries and transform the way we interact with technology. However, the use of ChatGPT has also raised several concerns, including ethical, social, and employment challenges, which must be carefully considered to ensure the responsible use of this technology. The article provides an overview of ChatGPT, delving into its architecture and training process. It highlights the potential impacts of ChatGPT on the society. In this paper, we suggest some approaches involving technology, regulation, education, and ethics in an effort to maximize ChatGPT's benefits while minimizing its negative impacts. Abstract:Artificial intelligence (AI) large language models (LLMs) have emerged as important technologies. Recently, ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) has been released and attracted massive interest from the public, owing to its unique capabilities to simplify many daily tasks of people from diverse backgrounds and social statuses. Here, we discuss how ChatGPT (and similar AI technologies) can impact biology and environmental science, providing examples obtained through interactive sessions with ChatGPT. The benefits that ChatGPT offers are ample and can impact many aspects of biology and environmental science, including education, research, scientific publishing, outreach, and societal translation. Among others, ChatGPT can simplify and expedite highly complex and challenging tasks. As an example to illustrate this, we provide 100 important questions for biology and 100 important questions for environmental science. Although ChatGPT offers a plethora of benefits, there are several risks and potential harms associated with its use, which we analyze herein. Awareness of risks and potential harms should be raised. However, understanding and overcoming the current limitations could lead these recent technological advances to push biology and environmental science to their limits.

Abstract:The future of a machine writing our reports for us could also lead to it carrying out our consultations, a scenario whose relevance is open to debate. Nevertheless, the present offers us new artificial intelligence tools that can support us in our daily activities. The publication in 2017 of Transformers initiated a disruptive revolution by enabling the emergence of major language models, of which ChatGPT is the best known. In view of their growing adoption, the authors felt it would be useful to offer some pragmatic advice on how to improve the use of these tools. Abstract:Purpose This paper aims to provide an overview of key definitions related to ChatGPT, a public tool developed by OpenAI, and its underlying technology, Generative Pretrained Transformer (GPT). Design/methodology/approach This paper includes an interview with ChatGPT on its potential impact on academia and libraries. The interview discusses the benefits of ChatGPT such as improving search and discovery, reference and information services; cataloging and metadata generation; and content creation, as well as the ethical considerations that need to be taken into account, such as privacy and bias. Findings ChatGPT has considerable power to advance academia and librarianship in both anxiety-provoking and exciting new ways. However, it is important to consider how to use this technology responsibly and ethically, and to uncover how we, as professionals, can work alongside this technology to improve our work, rather than to abuse it or allow it to abuse us in the race to create new scholarly knowledge and educate future professionals. Originality/value This paper discusses the history and technology of GPT, including its generative pretrained transformer model, its ability to perform a wide range of language-based tasks and how ChatGPT uses this technology to function as a sophisticated chatbot.

Abstract:The fundamental principles, potential applications, and ethical concerns of ChatGPT are analyzed and discussed in this study. Since ChatGPT emerged, it has gained a rapidly growing popularity, with more than 600 million users today. The development of ChatGPT was a significant mile-stone, as it demonstrated the potential of large-scale language models to generate natural language responses that are almost indistinguishable from those of a human. ChatGPT's operational principles, prospective applications, and ability to advance a range of human endeavours are discussed in the paper. However, much of the work discusses and poses moral and other problems that rely on the subject. To document the latter, we submitted 14 queries and captured the ChatGPT responses. ChatGPT appeared to be honest, self-knowledgeable, and careful with its answers. The authors come to the realization that since AI is already a part of society, the pervasiveness of the ChatGPT tool to the general public has once again brought to light concerns regarding AI in general. Still, they have moved from the domain of scientific community collective reflection at a conceptual level to everyday practice this time.

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Chat generative retrained transformer (ChatGPT) represents a groundbreaking advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI-chatbot) technology, utilizing transformer algorithms to enhance natural language processing and facilitating their use for addressing specific tasks. These AI chatbots can respond to questions by generating verbal instructions similar to those a person would provide during the problem-solving process.AIM: ChatGPT has become the fastest growing software in terms of user adoption in history, leading to an anticipated widespread use of this technology in the general population. Current literature is predominantly focused on the functional aspects of these technologies, but the field has not yet explored hypotheses on how these AI chatbots could impact the evolutionary aspects of human cognitive development. Thesis: The "neuronal recycling hypothesis" posits that the brain undergoes structural transformation by incorporating new cultural tools into "neural niches," consequently altering individual cognition. In the case of technological tools, it has been established that they reduce the cognitive demand needed to solve tasks through a process called "cognitive offloading." In this theoretical article, three hypotheses were proposed via forward inference about how algorithms such as ChatGPT and similar models may influence the cognitive processes and structures of upcoming generations.CONCLUSIONS: By forecasting the neurocognitive effects of these technologies, educational and political communities can anticipate future scenarios and formulate strategic plans to either mitigate or enhance the cognitive influence that these factors may have on the general population. It offers a highly immersive experience for users; their conversations feel natural and realistic as if they are interacting with another human being [ Citation 3 ]. What distinguishes ChatGPT from other chatbots or virtual assistants is its incredible aptitude: when answering questions, it acknowledges user assumptions and challenges them using sophisticated algorithms. This feature significantly contributes to creating valuable insights and enhancing overall learning experiences for the users who engage with ChatGPT [ Citation 4 , Citation 5 ]. Overall, through its remarkable features, powerful machine learning models, and capacity to improve throughout interactions, ChatGPT represents one of the most innovative technologies available currently and continues to evolve every day, thus transforming communication [ Citation 6 ].
