Abstract:In this paper, the author studies the regularity of Munn rings and completely 0-simple semigroup rings. When either (i)R is a ring with identity andI and Λ are infinite, or (ii)R is a strong IBN and fully Dedekind-finite ring with identity and eitherI or Λ is finite, in Section 2, the regularity of the Munn ringM(R; I, Λ; P) is characterized; in Section 3, for a completely 0-simple semigroupS =M°(G; I, Λ; P), the regularity ofRS is characterized. Meantime, the author shows that for a locally finite monoidS and a ringR with identity,RS is a strong IBN ring if and only ifR is so;RS is fully Dedekind-finite if and only ifR is so.
Regular ℤ-graded Local Rings and Graded Isolated Singularities

Abstract:In this note we first study regular ℤ-graded local rings. We characterize commutative noetherian regular ℤ-graded local rings in similar ways as in the usual local case. The characterization by the length of (homogeneous) regular sequences fails in the graded case in general. Then, we characterize graded isolated singularity for commutative ℤ-graded semilocal algebra in terms of the global dimension of its associated noncommutative projective scheme. As a corollary, we obtain that a commutative affine ℕ-graded algebra generated in degree 1 is a graded isolated singularity if and only if its associated projective scheme is smooth; if and only if the category of coherent sheaves on its projective scheme has finite global dimension, which are known in literature.
Uniformly dominant local rings and Orlov spectra of singularity categories

Abstract:We define a uniformly dominant local ring as a commutative noetherian local ring with an integer r such that the residue field is built from any nonzero object in the singularity category by direct summands, shifts and at most r mapping cones. We find sufficient conditions for uniform dominance, by which we show Burch rings and local rings with quasi-decomposable maximal ideal are uniformly dominant. For a uniformly dominant excellent equicharacteristic isolated singularity, we get an upper bound of the Orlov spectrum of the singularity category. We prove uniform dominance is preserved under basic operations, and give techniques to construct uniformly dominant local rings. An application of our methods to local rings with decomposable maximal ideal is provided as well.

Abstract:We introduce an analog of the Ziegler spectrum for maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules over a complete Cohen-Macaulay local ring. We define a topology on the space of isomorphism classes of indecomposable maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules and investigate the topological structure. We also calculate the Cantor-Bendixson rank for a ring which is of CM_+-finite representation type.

Abstract:We introduce the notion of a naive global 2-ring: a functor from the opposite of the $\infty$-category of global spaces to presentably symmetric monoidal stable $\infty$-categories. By passing to global sections, every naive global 2-ring decategorifies to a multiplicative cohomology theory on global spaces, i.e. a naive global ring. We suggest when a naive global 2-ring deserves to be called \emph{genuine}. As evidence, we associate to such a global 2-ring a family of equivariant cohomology theories which satisfy a version of the change of group axioms introduced by Ginzburg, Kapranov and Vasserot. We further show that the decategorified multiplicative global cohomology theory associated to a genuine global $2$-ring canonically refines to an $\mathbb{E}_\infty$-ring object in global spectra. As we show, two interesting examples of genuine global 2-rings are given by quasi-coherent sheaves on the torsion points of an oriented spectral elliptic curve and Lurie's theory of tempered local systems. In particular, we obtain global spectra representing equivariant elliptic cohomology and tempered cohomology.

Abstract:Valuation rings and perfectoid rings are examples of (usually non-Noetherian) rings that behave in some sense like regular rings. We give and study an extension of the concept of regular local rings to non-Noetherian rings so that it includes valuation and perfectoid rings and it is related to Grothendieck's definition of formal smoothness as in the Noetherian case. For that, we have to take into account the topologies. We prove a descent theorem for regularity along flat homomorphisms (in fact for homomorphisms of finite flat dimension), extending some known results from the Noetherian to the non-Noetherian case, as well as generalizing some recent results in the non-Noetherian case, such as the descent of regularity from perfectoid rings by B. Bhatt, S. Iyengar and L. Ma.

Abstract:We give a new proof of the completeness of the space $\mathcal{O}_C$ by applying a criterion of compact regularity for the isomorphic sequence space $\lim_{k\rightarrow} (s\hat \otimes (\ell^\infty)_{-k})$. Along the way we show that the strong dual of any quasinormable Fréchet space is a compactly regular $\mathcal{LB}$-space. Finally, we prove that $\lim_{k\rightarrow}(E_k\hat \otimes_\iota F) = (\lim_{k\rightarrow} E_k) \hat \otimes_\iota F$ if the inductive limit $\lim_{k \rightarrow}(E_k \hat \otimes_\iota F)$ is compactly regular.

Abstract:We prove that a countable semigroup $S$ is locally finite if and only if the Arens-Michael envelope of its semigroup algebra is a $(DF)$-space. This is a counterpart to a recent result of the author, which asserts that $S$ is finitely generated if and only if the Arens-Michael envelope is a Fréchet space.

Abstract:In this paper we extend equivariant infinite loop space theory to take into account multiplicative norms: For every finite group $G$, we construct a multiplicative refinement of the comparison between the $\infty$-categories of connective genuine $G$-spectra and space-valued Mackey functors, first proven by Guillou-May, and use this to give a description of connective normed equivariant ring spectra as space-valued Tambara functors. In more detail, we first introduce and study a general notion of homotopy-coherent normed (semi)rings, and identify these with product-preserving functors out of a corresponding $\infty$-category of bispans. In the equivariant setting, this identifies space-valued Tambara functors with normed algebras with respect to a certain normed monoidal structure on grouplike $G$-commutative monoids in spaces. We then show that the latter is canonically equivalent to the normed monoidal structure on connective $G$-spectra given by the Hill-Hopkins-Ravenel norms. Combining our comparison with results of Elmanto-Haugseng and Barwick-Glasman-Mathew-Nikolaus, we produce normed ring structures on equivariant algebraic K-theory spectra.

On local cohomology modules over ramified regular local rings

Abstract:In this paper, we show examples of local cohomology modules over ramified regular local ring, having finite set of associated primes. In doing so we consider our ramified regular local ring as Eisenstein extension of an unramified regular local ring sitting inside it and we use the Mayer-Vietoris spectral sequence to show the finiteness of the set of associated primes. In ramified regular local ring for extended ideal (from the unramified one) set of associative primes of a local cohomology module is always finite. Using this result, for non extended ideal, we show example of local cohomology module which has finite set of associative primes and where associative primes also contains prime number $p$.

Abstract:Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Ahead of Print. Let [math] be a commutative ring with identity and [math] be a multiplicative subset of [math]. We say that [math] has [math]-Noetherian spectrum if for every ideal [math] of [math] [math] for some [math] and some finitely generated ideal [math] In this paper, we study rings with [math]-Noetherian spectrum. Among other things, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for Nagata's idealization [math], where [math] is an [math]-module, to satisfy the [math]-Noetherian spectrum. We also investigate when the amalgamated algebra along an ideal has [math]-Noetherian spectrum. Several examples are given to illustrate the concepts and results.

Abstract:Over a Cohen-Macaulay local ring, the minimal number of generators of a maximal Cohen-Macaulay module is bounded above by its multiplicity. In 1984 Ulrich asked whether there always exist modules for which equality holds; such modules are known nowadays as Ulrich modules. We answer this question in the negative by constructing families of two dimensional Cohen-Macaulay local rings that have no Ulrich modules. Some of these examples are Gorenstein normal domains; others are even complete intersection domains, though not normal.

Abstract:We discuss a notion of uniqueness up to $n$-homotopy and study examples from stable homotopy theory. In particular, we show that the $q$-expansion map from elliptic cohomology to topological $K$-theory is unique up to $3$-homotopy, away from the prime $2$, and that upon taking $p$-completions and $\mathbf{F}_p^\times$-homotopy fixed points, this map is uniquely defined up to $(2p-3)$-homotopy. Using this, we prove new relationships between Adams operations on connective and dualisable topological modular forms -- other applications, including a construction of a connective model of Behrens' $Q(N)$ spectra away from $2N$, will be explored elsewhere. The technical tool facilitating this uniqueness is a variant of the Goerss--Hopkins obstruction theory for real spectra, which applies to various elliptic cohomology and topological $K$-theories with a trivial complex conjugation action as well as some of their homotopy fixed points.
