Abstract:Despite advancements in spinal metastasis surgery techniques and the rapid development of multidisciplinary treatment models, we aimed to explore the clinical efficacy of spinal metastasis surgery performed by a combined NOMS decision system-utilizing multidisciplinary team and Revised Tokuhashi scoring system, compared with the Revised Tokuhashi scoring system.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
### The Problem the Paper Attempts to Solve This paper aims to explore the clinical efficacy of using the NOMS decision system in combination with the revised Tokuhashi scoring system for the surgical treatment of spinal metastases in a multidisciplinary team (MDT) setting, and to compare it with the treatment method that uses only the revised Tokuhashi scoring system. Specifically, the study analyzed the application effects of the two methods in 102 patients with spinal metastases through a randomized controlled trial, evaluating complications, hospital stay duration, mortality rate, and postoperative follow-up indicators (including Visual Analog Scale [VAS] for pain, Karnofsky Performance Status [KPS], Self-Rating Anxiety Scale [SAS], and neurological function recovery [Frankel grading], etc.). The results indicate that the multidisciplinary team treatment plan combining NOMS and the revised Tokuhashi scoring system has significant advantages in reducing complications, shortening hospital stay, and improving patients' quality of life.
