I attempt to classify and summarize the research work and results of the oral and poster presentations made at the meeting.

Abstract:In the study of the process of cosmic structure formation numerical simulations are crucial tools to interface observational data to theoretical models and to investigate issues otherwise unexplored. Enormous advances have been achieved in the last years thanks to the availability of sophisticated codes, now allowing to tackle the problem of cosmic structure formation and subsequent evolution by covering larger and larger dynamical ranges. Moreover, computational cosmology is the ideal interpretative framework for the overwhelming amount of new data from extragalactic surveys and from large sample of individual objects. The Workshop Novicosmo 2008 "The Impact of Simulations in Cosmology and Galaxy Formation' held in SISSA was aimed at providing the state-of-the-art on the latest numerical simulations in Cosmology and in Galaxy Formation. Particular emphasis was given to the implementation of new physical processes in simulation codes, to the comparison between different codes and numerical schemes and how to use best supercomputing facilities of the next generation. Finally, the impact on our knowledge on the Physics of the Universe brought by this new channel of investigation has also been focused. The Workshop was divided in three sections corresponding (roughly) to three main areas of study: Reionization and Intergalactic medium; Dark and Luminous matter in galaxies; Clusters of galaxies and Large scale Structures. This paper will provide i) a short resume' of the scientific results of the Workshop ii) the complete list of the talks and the instructions on how to retrieve the .pdf of the related (powerpoint) presentations iii) a brief presentation of the associated Exhibition "Space Art"

Abstract:``Galaxies: the Third Dimension'' continues a tradition which started in Marseilles 1994 with the ``Tridimensional Optical Spectroscopic Methods in Astrophysics'' meeting, followed by ``Imaging the Universe in Three Dimensions'' at Walnut Creek in 1999. Since then, there have been developments both in instrumentation and in the way astronomy is conducted, and these need to be seen against a broad canvas. As we emphasize below, one of the main reasons for satisfaction is the trend towards talks focused on scientific results rather than on `yet another 3D spectroscopic technology.'

Abstract:The period 2009-2011 has seen a consolidation of our theoretical understanding around the Flat-Λ CDM Universe model, with experiments on several fronts providing observations consistent with this model, and leading to improved constraints on the values of H0, ΩB, ΩM, and ΩΛ. The recently launched Planck Satellite has started to provide a wealth of new observations of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) and should lead to substantial progress in the physics of the CMB over the coming years. There has also be a steady progress in mapping the formation of structure and galaxies to higher and higher redshifts. Observations of objects at the highest redshifts are suggestive that the reionization of the Universe might not be complete at these epochs. This epoch will be probed in the near future with low-frequency radio surveys. This report, prepared from the inputs received from the committee members, concentrates on these areas.

Abstract:This is the summary of two lectures that aim to give an overview of cosmology. I will not try to be too rigorous in derivations, nor to give a full historical overview. The idea is to provide a "taste" of cosmology and some of the interesting topics it covers. The standard cosmological model is presented and I highlight the successes of cosmology over the past decade or so. Keys to the development of the standard cosmological model are observations of the cosmic microwave background and of large-scale structure, which are introduced. Inflation and dark energy and the outlook for the future are also discussed. A regularized inverted perturbation approach method: potential energy curve of the $4^1Σ^+_u$ state in $Na_2$

Abstract:We describe a modification of the inverted perturbation approach method allowing to construct physically sensible potential energy curves for electronic states of diatomic molecules even when some parts of the potential are not adequately characterized by the experimental data. The method is based on a simple regularization procedure, imposing an additional constraint on the constructed potential curve. In the present work it is applied to the double minimum 4$^1\Sigma^{+}_{\mathrm u}$ state of Na$_2$, observed experimentally by polarization labeling spectroscopy technique.

Abstract:The precision cosmological model describing the origin and expansion history of the universe, with observed structure seeded at the inflationary cosmic horizon, demands completion in the ultraviolet and in the infrared. The dynamics of the cosmic horizon also suggests an associated entropy, again requiring a microphysical theory. Recent years have seen enormous progress in understanding the structure of de Sitter space and inflation in string theory, and of cosmological observables captured by quantum field theory and solvable deformations thereof. The resulting models admit ongoing observational tests through measurements of the cosmic microwave background and large-scale structure, as well as through analyses of theoretical consistency by means of thought experiments. This paper, prepared for the TF01 and TF09 conveners of the Snowmass 2021 process, provides a synopsis of this important area, focusing on ongoing developments and opportunities.

Abstract:This contribution is an appetizer to the relatively young and fast-evolving approach to quantum cosmology based on group field theory condensate states. We summarize the main assumptions and pillars of this approach which has revealed new perspectives on the long-standing question of how to recover the continuum from discrete geometric building blocks. Among others, we give a snapshot of recent work on isotropic cosmological solutions exhibiting an accelerated expansion, a bounce where anisotropies are shown to be under control, and inhomogeneities with an approximately scale-invariant power spectrum. Finally, we point to open issues in the condensate cosmology approach.

Abstract:In this Research Highlights, we summarize 31 contributions provided during the Workshop \textit{Multifrequency Behaviour of High Energy Cosmic Sources - XIV}, held in Palermo (Italy) from the 12th to the 17th of June 2023. We will start with the most recent discoveries in the field of gravitational waves (GWs). We will connect this topic to the contributions of Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) associated with GWs and with the Kilonovae (KNe) hunting and, more in general, on GRBs. Continuing on high-energy astrophysics objects, we will delve into Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs), neutrino astronomy and the study of the primordial universe, both from the space telescopes' observation and from the very recent proposals in terms of cosmological models. From the faraway universe, we will move to the more local scales and discuss the recent observations in Supernova Remnants (SNRs), massive star binaries, globular cluster dynamics, and exoplanets observed by Kepler.

Abstract:The article compares traditional coefficients of thermodynamic activity as a parameter related to individual chemical species to newly introduced reduced chaotic temperatures as system characteristics, both regarding their usage in thermodynamic simulation of open chemical systems. Logical and mathematical backgrounds of both approaches are discussed. It is shown that usage of reduced chaotic temperatures and the Method of Chemical Dynamics to calculate chemical and phase composition in open chemical systems is much less costly, easier to perform and potentially leads to better precision.

This inspiring conference clearly showed the richness and diversity of top-quark physics research. Results cover a very broad spectrum of analyses involving studies of the strong and electroweak interactions of the top quark, high-precision measurements of intrinsic top-quark properties, developments of new tools in top-quark analyses, observations of new Standard Model processes, the interaction between the top quark and the Higgs boson and sensitive searches for new physics beyond the Standard Model.

Abstract:Cosmology is entering a very exciting time in its history, when a wealth of cutting-edge experiments are all starting to collect data, or about to. These experiments aim at addressing some of the most intriguing questions in fundamental physics, such as what is the nature of dark matter, is dark energy a cosmological constant or a varying field, what are the masses of the neutrinos, and more. While Lambda-CDM has emerged as a simple model that is consistent with most of the current data sets, we are starting to see some interesting deviations that deserve further exploration. This contribution provides an overview of upcoming projects and the science opportunities they will allow. In particular, we recall and comment the DESI year-1 BAO constraints and their implications for dark energy. We put some of the most recent results and outstanding questions in the perspective of the forthcoming observational program.
