Abstract:Firstly, in Scheme 1 c of this Communication, the chemical structure of D is incorrect. The correct version is shown in the updated Scheme 1 below. Secondly, there is a mistake in the first paragraph of the Experimental Section. The “calcium hydride (methanol)” in the sixth line is wrong and should be “I2/Mg (methanol)”. Thus, the first paragraph should read as follows: “General materials: Except for the visible-light-induced final step which was carried out without nitrogen atmosphere protection, other manipulations were carried out under a nitrogen atmosphere by using standard Schlenk techniques. Solvents were distilled under nitrogen from sodium benzophenone (diethyl ether, tetrahydrofuran) or I2/Mg (methanol), and degassed prior to use. The starting materials of [OsCl2(PPh3)3], 1 a′–1 e”, 3 a“ and 3 b” were prepared by procedures described in the literature.[13] Other reagents were used as received from commercial sources without further purification.“ The authors apologize for these mistakes and for any inconvenience caused.

Abstract:Two approaches were proposed for the synthesis of dibenzo[ b , h ][1,5]naphthyridin-7(12 H )-ones. The one-step method based on the Pictet–Spengler reaction of 3-amino-2-phenylquinolin-4(1 H )-one with aromatic aldehydes requires heating in a strong acidic media, which leads to significant limitations on the possible products. The second approach is based on the conversion of 3-amino-2-phenylquinolin-4(1 H )-one to 4-phenyl[1,3]oxazolo[4,5- c ]quinolines followed by rearrangement under the action of AlCl 3 . A significant advantage of the two-step synthesis is the possibility of obtaining a wider range of dibenzo[ b , h ][1,5]naphthyridin-7(12 H )-ones, including those not available using the Pictet–Spengler reaction.
